Amazing place! To take yourself or your kids!

$50 to get in! It took about 3 hours to walk around possibly 4 or 5 depending on your circumstances.

I would highly recommend for any age.

They have a cafeteria snd restaurant. Their food is decent pricing. $15 for a burger and fries which is cheaper than some places!

Amazing experience for all ages!
The Calgary Zoo is a fantastic place to spend the day! The animals are well cared for and the enclosures are spacious and thoughtfully designed. We especially loved the Penguin Plunge and the Canadian Wilds — so cool to see local species up close. The zoo is clean, easy to navigate, and very family-friendly with lots of spots to rest, grab a bite, and enjoy the scenery. Educational signs and interactive displays made it fun and informative. Highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone who loves animals and nature!

I have a membership to the Calgary Zoo and highly recommend it — whether you’re a family with kids or a couple looking for something fun to do, it’s a fantastic place to spend a few hours. There’s a wide variety of animals to see, and if you visit at the right time, many of them are active and engaging to watch.

The membership is a great value — it pays for itself after just 2 or 3 visits. Plus, you get unlimited access for the entire year and free parking, which makes it even more convenient. A must-visit spot in Calgary!

A well crafted animal enclave. Sadly, most of the animals I wanted to see where either sleeping or in shades as the weather was considerably warm.
The entire zoo is wheelchair accessible with lots of play area for children and food spots for visitors

What a great adventure and experience!! The kids had a blast—and so did us kids at heart!

Pro tip: Download the Calgary Attraction Pass (it’s completely free!) to get a 15% discount on daily admission. Just check in and scan the QR code the receptionist gives you. We’re a family of 10, so that saved us a good amount! There’s a lot of attractions that you could get discounts on by using this pass.

It was my first time seeing a zebra, giraffe, camel, bear, and so many other wild animals—I loved every minute of it. Of course, I took a lot of pictures! Haha

The only downside were some areas were closed for renovations, and it rained heavily for half the day. So definitely bring an umbrella just in case!

Amazing animals! Entering the zoo you can check out the penguins near the entrance. It’s like you are in the Arctic among a flock of them. The polar bear and the komodo dragons were a sight to see also. Some information is provided about the animals if you talk to staff, and there are special presentations at scheduled times. The food was sub par and overpriced, definitely a place to pack your own food. Ice cream is available to purchase which is nice on a hot day.

Overall I recommend visiting this zoo!

Great time!
Got there at opening (9AM) on a Saturday, hardly any cars in the lot. Had an excellent day, great weather. All of the animals look quite happy and well taken care of, all of the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend getting the Tourism Calgary Attractions Pass (free, google it).. it saves you 15% on admission!
There are single-stall bathrooms right past the initial gate, but if you go beyond the paid admission area, there are many large bathrooms by the gift shop and all throughout the zoo.
There are three playgrounds we took note of, the best being Bugtopia. As two grown adults attending the zoo, we still had a blast on the playground (and there weren’t too many kids until about 10AM).
Very clean facilities, excellent signage. Accessibility was noted as well. For sure worth the price, don’t miss out on an incredible day!

Food was tasty with generous portions, service was very attentive here. I highly recommend this place!

We tried the French Toast and Chicken and Pancakes. French Toast were fluffy with HUGE portions! Chicken was crispy on the outside with the right amount of seasoning, and the pancakes were truly the stars of the show! They’re so fluffy and buttery without any sauce/toppings. Even the bacon on the side was perfectly cooked! My partner ordered an extra portion of pancake – it wasn’t needed at all, our eyes are bigger than our stomachs. Or should I say, their portions are bigger than our stomachs!

Love this place! A jewel in the heart of Bridgeland! We often go there for brunch and are never disappointed. My husband ALWAYS have the three egg mushroom omelette and I ALWAYS have the huevos rancheros. Everything is so fresh and the egg is cooked just right. The service is friendly and attentive. A favorite place of ours!

Amazing hidden gem! I took my kids for brunch here but I would come here over and over. So many great options on their menu that I’d love to try. I had the gluten free option for fried chicken & waffles and it was such a treat!

A relatively small place which is quite busy. The staff were pleasant and the service was fairly prompt.

The coffee had a definite sour note to it. It wasn’t to the point of being unpleasant, it just wasn’t great. The refills were prompt so I never faced an empty cup.

The breakfast bowl was tasty and the jalapenos added a slight heat to the dish. The potatoes were nicely cooked and the eggs are poached to order. The portion size was just right.

My wife enjoyed the French Toast but described it as nothing special. That described the food for me… Good but not exceptional.

It’s a place that I will return to when I’m in the area. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would definitely frequent this restaurant. I do want to go back for lunch to try their burger.

Been a handful of times but hadn’t been in +5 years, glad we did! I have become more of a breakfast person since then, but I don’t remember it being as great as this time. The other plates looked better than mine, but really good breakfast sandwich – which I’d consider myself somewhat a connoisseur of.
Service was great as well

This place has become a staple for us when visiting Calgary. We get the Soul in a Bowl every time, it’s delicious. The decor of the restaurant is amazing and I love the dishes they serve the food in. It’s the perfect spot for brunch, and they also have very clean bathrooms (something I always appreciate but don’t often find)

Kind of disappointing for the money paid. No one at our table was super excited about their breakfast. The portions (in general) were on the smaller side. The service wasn’t too bad. Very small, intimate restaurant.

My family and I came here on New years eve for lunch. We waited 15 minutes to get a table. My 2 year old got his order out first, he loved those pancakes! Everything we got was delicious and full of flavor. Despite it being very busy in there, the service was great. I would definitely come back here again for breakfast or lunch.

Showed up at the entrance and waited for someone to greet us and take us to our table manager showed up didn’t greet and with a stared look I don’t know if She was just tired or not in a mood. The restaurant was not busy long table was empty. We got there our table wasn’t cleaned. Server was nice to replace the mug that has hair on it. The food was great but not enough. This restaurant has a 2.4k reviews but I don’t know why our first experience was not good. Upload photos for you to see.

Galaxy Diner is picture perfect in its role as a traditional Mom and Pop restaurant. In business for almost 30 years in the same location. It is a model of consistency.

While it is housed in a small space, that intimate setting, that irreplaceable «been around a long time» patina and style are part of its charm.

The helpings are generous, with many items listed on the menu «Served with endless toasts and bottomless hash browns», omelettes get «Any number of fillings, same price».

The food is fresh, served quickly and the staff, many of which are long term employees, are courteous, despite working in tight quarters and typically busy services.

We had a and an , both of which were excellent, with an extra order of toasts, as included in the menu.

We did not wait for a table for two but on weekends, Galaxy Diner can get a waiting line.

Hard to beat simple, fresh, abundant consistent food, served with a smile.

Keep doing what you do, Galaxy Diner!

Fresh off the tarmac, and with quite the appetite, my friends and I sauntered ourselves into this groovy little joint. Coffee, orange juice, crisp water, WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR. The food was fast, filling and friggin good. Also Austen, our server had exquisite energy. Super attentive and actually offered up those bottomless hash browns the menu listed, love a restaurant that follows through on such a bold claim. Will definitely be back next time i’m in the city. Highly recommended!

Fabulous little diner – I went with my family and we had a great time. The service from the moment we walked in the door was great, all the staff we interacted with was so friendly and welcoming. I appreciate small restaurants where everyone is available to help, it really makes it feels homey.
I had the smoked meat Bennie and was obsessed. The hollindaise was perfect, and I love when bennies are served on croissants. I found myself getting full so fast, I can only assume it’s because its real food.

The Calgary sandwich was the best sandwich I’ve ever had!

We sat at the bar, and watched the master chef run the grill. What a talent this dude was

My date had the Montreal smoked meat hash. Also an excellent meal.

Pricing runs average to other quality establishments we’ve visited. The portions were perfect, no need to activate the bottomless hash or toast feature

We can’t wait to go back and try more

Went there on Stampede Sunday and was lucky to only wait for 30 minutes. Place was packed.

Exceptional breakfast. Creative application of quality ingredients across multiple plays and drinks. Amazing taste, the drinks are also exceptional. The food is prepared with amazing attention to detail, quality and creativity is second to none. This might be the best breakfast n the city. In the Decor is also amazing. Feels very warm and inviting, filled with conversation pieces. Everything is classy and rich feeling. Parking is not ideal but even then it’s VERY worth it once you’re inside enjoying your meal. The staff was the perfect blend of conversational, pleasant and prompt. Everyone seems to jump and and help get your meal out in sync and the drinks flowing with perfection. The little touches like a maple syrup filled heart bubble and other nice touches make this place stand out for attention to details. The bacon is amazing also, good quality, lots of actually meat (not too fatty) and done to a crisp perfection only a few places can ever achieve. This is a must dine here vibe in every way. You will love it.

When we first came here we got the big platter for 2, and even though it looked impressive and photogenic it wasn’t that great.

We came a second time to get our own individual dishes and this time was thoroughly impressed.

The hash browns are divine and the overall ingredients all feel a step above other brunch joints we’ve been to in the city.

The service is good and decor/atmosphere also stick out as something special.

We had an incredible dining experience at Queen’s Breakfast! The food was absolutely amazing, and the portions were HUGE. I couldn’t even finish my plate! We also ordered cappuccino which was rich and creamy.

One minor suggestion for improvement: the waiting area could use some attention. If you don’t check in regularly, it’s easy to get forgotten. A gentle reminder system or more frequent checks would make the experience even better.

Overall: Highly recommended!

The pancakes were amazing. Possibly the best pancakes I’ve had. They were light and the lemon flavour was really pleasant. I could have eaten them all day. The portion size was okay but could have been a bit larger. The coffee was good without a bitter aftertaste. The service was a bit slow but they were busy.

Their burger is quite good and definitely worth ordering. Their fries are crispy and not too salty. My wife enjoyed their parfait.

Great spot for breakfast in a nice location. The food was tasty, though the salad portion felt a bit small for the price (you can see it in the photo).

Coffee was really good! Just a heads up — they serve it with a single shot of espresso by default. Our server offered a second shot, which we accepted, but didn’t mention it would cost an extra $2.75. Most places usually charge around $1 for that.

Overall, we enjoyed the visit and would come back again!

Good looking dish has no value when there is no taste to it. I had one of the worst breakfast experiences here.

We ordered few coffees, Halloumi Benedict and pancake taco. The food was barely seasoned. My pancake taco had sad looking «scrambled egg», spinach, few pieces of peppers and so called goat cheese sprinkle. The dish barely had salt which made the light sweetness of pancake overpower, breaking the balance of the dish. I had to keep on adding hot sauce to my dish just to add some taste.

They said that they specialised in lattes. We ordered a Banana coffee. It was less coffee and felt like a badly made watery banana shake.

All of the issues with food aside, what made our experience worse, was the service we received. It was cold and uninterested. It was bordering being racist as we saw the same servers treating people of other races with a smile.

The only redeeming factor was its cappuccino.

We went to this place as we saw its high ratings and great reviews. However, we left with unsatisfactory overpriced experience which sullied our meal. I really hope that they raise their standards.

Monki Breakfast & Bistro is a decent spot for a brunch outing with friends. The bright and welcoming atmosphere creates a cheerful vibe, and the staff are friendly and attentive. However, I found the portion sizes a bit smaller than expected, and the food quality didn’t quite meet my expectations.

Additional Info and Tips:
1. Menu Highlights: Monki is known for its creative twists on classic breakfast dishes. Their eggs benedict variations and stuffed French toast are popular choices—worth trying if you’re into flavorful brunch options.
2. Seating: It’s a cozy space, but it can get quite busy during peak brunch hours. Making a reservation ahead of time is recommended, especially on weekends.
3. Dietary Options: They offer a range of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free dishes, which could be a plus for those with dietary preferences or restrictions.
4. Pricing: Prices are moderate but slightly on the higher side considering the portion sizes. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re looking for value for money.

Pro Tip: If you’re a coffee lover, their specialty lattes and espresso drinks come highly recommended. Pair one with your meal for a complete experience!

Great little spot for some great breakfast. Service was excellent as well. 🙂 would recommend any of the eggs Benedict. The regular drip coffee was not strong at all and just average, so if you are a coffee snob- maybe order one of their other selections. Enjoy

We ordered florentine Benedict, avocado toast, reverse French toast and drip coffee.
The Benedict was tasty, the avocado toast was just one slice of bread so quantity wise it was a bit disappointing, the taste was also bland so nothing outstanding about it.
The one thing that you must order here is the reverse French toast. It was delicious.

Service was amazing, the servers were very attentive and nice to talk to.

Overall it’s a nice place but pricey and but I will definitely come back.

This was our first time eating here.I called the restaurant to ensure it was wheelchair accessible, advised that it was, however upon arriving we could not get my chair through the door. Luckily there is the pati, so unfortunately, the only time I’ll be able to come to the restaurant will be during the summer months. .
Our food came out very quickly. The salted caramel latte was divine. The beef brisket. hash was extremely tasty, the brisket was tender, the hashbrowns crispy, the eggs perfectly cooked, and the hollandaise creamy and flavourful. The scrambler hash was pretty much the same minus the Hollandaise and eggs being scrambled, which were very creamy.
Our server James was awesome, very friendly.,great sense of humour, told us about Monki points, and benefits to accumulating points.

Pur & Simple is honestly my favorite spot to grab a meal — it’s my favorite restaurant for a reason! I always go there with my friends and family and there hasn’t been one time where I was disappointed by my overall experience. The food is beyond amazing. I highly recommend trying the Pesto Philly Steak Skillet — it’s pure comfort food with a twist. The ingredients are always fresh, the food comes out fast, and you can really taste the care put into every plate. Their juice and smoothies are just as impressive — they’re so fresh, rich, and perfectly blended. I love that you can tell everything is made with high–quality ingredients.
The atmosphere is another big selling point for me. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with gorgeous hanging plants that bring a lovely, natural feel to the space. It’s a place where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a wonderful meal.
And I honestly can’t say enough about the team here — the staff is the friendliest I know. Huge shout-out to Sine, Lorena, and Francine for always making me feel so welcome and for delivering great service with a warm smile. This place is a true gem, and I can’t wait for my next visit!

We were looking for a place to it after our trip to Costco and we decided to give this place a try. Such an adorable place, a welcoming atmosphere and it’s clean and bright. We enjoyed our food and drinks, I just wished that they got my order right, would have been a perfect 5 stars, but I still enjoyed my pancake even it was not a blueberry pancake. Overall we had an amazing first time experience in this location. The servers served us well and we will surely come back again.

We had breakfast here and the freshly squeezed orange juice was spectacular! I had the black and blue and my spouse had the Avocado lox. Our son had the sweet and salty crepes. The food was very fresh and delicious. Our server Cine was pleasant and friendly. Would definitely come here again. Didn’t get a picture of the crepes but they were delicious.

Let’s start with the place. New clean decore, inviting breakfast place.

Somehow accommodating when asked to sit beside a window.
Good coffee with refills.
Fast service.
Good taste is good overall.
Check was dropped on table while eating our food.

Worth trying. I suggest training staff to present bill when asked.

Since it is far from where I live, l’ve only been here 2 times, one time within a few months of opening and a second time a year later. I’m glad to say that it was just as good if not better than the first time I had it! Other brunch places I feel are over priced for the portions and lack in flavour. I really enjoy their hollandaise sauce as it does not taste artificial. Their fruit seems to be fresh and they use real whip cream too. My favourite is the Kickin Kimchi eggs benny and their Panko crusted brioche French toast. Love that they do not use sand which bread. Also got a huge portion of potatoes that I couldn’t finish haha. Despite the Calgary stampede rush, May (mei?) was great and checked up on us every so often. Stopped by a pop up they were hosting in the woodcreek community for stampede breakfast where they were giving away fresh squeezed orange juice, so good! The interior is also great for taking pictures if you’re into that, cute aesthetic

This week’s Sunday brunch, we decided to head down to ZCrew. The place is small so reservations is recommended if you want a spot to eat. I tried the Korean fried chicken and waffles and the girlfriend had the Korean fried chicken benny.

Both meals were super good. Worth giving it a try. To wash down the brunch we had the zcrew silky iced coffee. Yum yum yummy all around.

If you are around area or plan to try this place out. Definitely give it a try. You won’t be disappointed

The food was absolutely amazing! Zack and his team of 10 provided top-notch service and were incredibly accommodating, even with our group of 15 arriving as early as 9 AM. Our meals were served within minutes, which was impressive. The only area for improvement would be the sourdough bread—it could be better. Aside from that, it’s a perfect 10/10 for the ambience, Instagram-worthy vibes, stunning food presentation, and a marvelous selection of drinks!

We came in clutch just minutes before the last order on a Sunday, but they still delivered! Not only did the food look outstanding but the flavour was on par with the looks! It seems like every dish was really well thought-out. If you haven’t been to ZCREW Cafe yet—stop what you’re doing and GO! This place serves hands down the best breakfast in Calgary, no contest. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is clean, modern, and welcoming. The staff? Absolutely lovely—super friendly, attentive, and they make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit.

Now let’s talk food… eggs cooked to perfection, strong, rich coffee that actually wakes you up, and the veggies? Cooked just right with flavors that make every bite unforgettable. You’ll want to lick the plate—no shame. Trust me, your tastebuds will thank you.

This trendy and lively brunch restaurant is sure to leave you wanting more! The interior is small but vibrant, with lots of concrete and modern design accents. Food here is more trendy and unique, but still incorporates the traditional brunch ingredients just with a new spin. The staff are friendly but expect to wait a bit especially on the weekends. Street parking is required but all in all a great brunch spot in downtown Calgary.

John’s Breakfast and Lunch is such a cozy little gem! My partner’s sister recommended this place and it did not disappoint. We stopped in to grab a late breakfast on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was pretty busy the entire time. My partner had the breakfast poutine and I had an omelet. There was no wait time to be seated for us, but I can imagine the place fills up quickly on the weekends. The coffee was fresh and our coffee cups were never close to being empty thanks to the wonderful service. The bread that came with my omelet was out of this world! We thought the prices were fair given the portions. We parked for free around the corner on one of the neighborhood streets.

My first impression of this restaurant was that it was cozy.

Although it was Monday afternoon, there was a steady stream of customers coming in for lunch. Many of them seemed to be elderly and regular customers, meaning that the taste of the food seemed to have already been proofed over many years.

I had Eggs Benedict, and the Hollandaise sauce, poached eggs, and ham went well together.

I also wanted to try Breakfast Poutine, but I went alone and couldn’t try it. I’ll definitely try it next time I go.

The service and serving were excellent and friendly.

We had a nice meal at John’s. I had their Breakfast Poutine and tried the Bacon Bowl special (basically a breakfast poutine with bacon substituted for chorizo sausage) and it was done very well. The cheddar cheese was melty over the crispy/firm potatoes. The sunny side eggs were runny and all of these flavors came together nicely. The Hollandaise was creamy but did not stand out for me. Everything was lightly seasoned.

The service was quick and very friendly as well.

Overall, everything was cooked well and was tasty but could be elevated with a veggie such as sautéed mushrooms, onions, and/or greens. A good place for a quick and yummy breakfast.

I really enjoy this breakfast/brunch spot, it’s become a go-to when I visit Calgary. My family always recommends it, and for good reason. The menu features a creative Asian fusion twist on classic breakfast and lunch dishes, and the flavors are consistently impressive.

This time, we ordered five different dishes plus one sweet item to share, and everything was delicious. Each plate was beautifully presented and had its own unique flavor profile, making it easy to sample a bit of everything.

What made the experience even better was the warm, welcoming service. My cousin joined us with her newborn, and the staff went out of their way to be accommodating and kind. It’s little touches like that that make a place memorable.

Highly recommend this spot if you’re in Calgary and looking for something a bit different but super satisfying for brunch.

Such a Lovely Spot for Brunch!
We visited Maven for brunch, and it was such a cute place! I honestly thought they wouldn’t be able to accommodate us because I forgot to make a reservation, but luckily they were able to seat the five of us on the café side — which actually turned out even better, because it was much brighter and had such a nice vibe. The whole place has a beautiful ambience, lots of plants, and a cozy, modern feel.

The food? Amazing. I ordered the feature of the day — chicken adobo with garlic fried rice — and it was delicious. We also tried the Salmon Danbury, the noodle dish, and the classic breakfast. Every plate looked and tasted like it was carefully curated. You can tell the kitchen puts real thought into the menu. We also got the matcha drinks, which were super tasty (though I wish the servings were a little bigger!).

Big shoutout to our server, Piper — she was so sweet, helpful, and honestly just made the experience even better. Such a gem!

Highly recommend coming here for brunch — just don’t forget to make a reservation!

Lately, I keep exploring on the best brunches restaurants in Calgary. Maven is always full and needs to book a reservation or join the waitlist. Luckily during Canada day, I was given a spot.
The food is nothing short of exceptional, with each dish crafted with precision, balance, and bold simplicity. There’s a quiet confidence in the kitchen that you can taste.
I’ve tried the Maven’s breakfast wherein you can decide which bread or protein you want or any side of fruits etc. The Blushing Coconut Tropical Refresher tastes fabulous.
If you’re craving for Michelin style Filipino inspired cuisine, Maven is the place to be.
The ambience is small, intimate, and beautifully designed a perfect blend of refined elegance.
Service was flawless, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate.
This is one of Calgary’s very best, period. An unforgettable brunch experience. Its 11/10 for me and I will definitely come back here.

The place has a really nice vibe, cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly, which I appreciated. I ordered a mocha and it was honestly delicious, one of the highlights of the visit. As for the food, I went with the Stampede benny, but it just didn’t do it for me. There wasn’t anything special about it, and the potatoes were way too greasy for my taste. Overall, I still had a good time, mostly because of the atmosphere and that great mocha, but I probably wouldn’t go back for the food.

Went here from brunch over the weekend – we had heard about it through social media/some of our friends and yes the wait times out long (for 2 people we were on the wait list for just over an hour – nothing wrong with that just something to be aware of) but the food was delicious.

We both had the Bennie’s and you can really appreciate the flavours and fusion of the food. Food came out fast and tasted great. It was reasonably priced and the restaurant itself is quite cozy and unique with a little cafe/plant shop at the back.

So all in all if you’re okay with waiting a little longer for a table then I’d give it a try!
