This review is long over due!
This is my home away from home! I feel comfortable, safe, and have made life time friendships with staff, patrons, and musicians!
I have tried 2 items from the new menu and thoroughly enjoyed both. Compliments to the head chef and her staff!
The management team are observably supportive to each other and their bar staff, and friendly and inclusive to all!
Additionally they support many charitable causes, donating their own talents and skills, with musician friends doing the same!
With much love and admiration!

I love this bar. It’s not only the new Blind Beggar because I run into all my old musician friends here, the scene itself is alive and thriving. The staff is amazing, the service is attentive and personable and the place itself draws the finest of characters. Ask for Barb, Deb, Bri or any of the amazing bar staff employed here. Stop being afraid of this place and come have a genuine experience in history, hospitality and music! My favourite!

Nice and quiet when I was there in the morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a great value. It was nice that someone finally knows how to cook the string hash browns properly. Will be back.

I'm changing my review because we got the worst service and food today. Our stakes were cooked the wrong temp. Twice. The fies were cheap shoe string and not fried properly. The gravy was water down and didn't resemble any gravy I have ever had. It was gross. To the lady who sat down near by(I think she was the cook) she kept staring over her shoulder at me. That was creepy.
Overall a bad experience. Never going back.
If you're going to raise your prices, make sure the quality of the food matches.

Very old "character" type 1960s/70s decorated, ( and never again since then), restaurant and bar with lunchtime, quite or very old-looking trades/labour men, drinking alcohol early in the day while talking politics and more. Prices are low for food which is more than acceptable for a diner.

First time visiting this pub.
Came out to listen to the live music. The band was really good. Nice size venue. The prices are reasonable. Looks like a local favorite place to socialize.

I have gone to this bar on multiple occasions every occasion has been different, but whenever the younger women are working they always are the best servers and the kindest I would definitely recommend this bar if they are working. Also, please give them the biggest tip possible I understand the location is not the best location for servers, but these women do the best they can, and they’re always very accommodating, but the older women that works there seems to be very racist and make you feel very unwelcome. I would go there more if I didn’t feel the intense racism as soon as I walk in the door or maybe she is just under pressure? (when the older woman is working, sorry but if you are a coloured female who has gone there I know you know). They also support local artists so I won’t completely put this business down but if they worked on the racism part I would definitely spend more money and more time there. This is not a hate post but more of just some constructive criticism… anyways good luck and hope you all succeed and realize not every coloured person is a bad person. I don’t think I will go here much longer unless the younger lady is working. She’s the best. Give her big tips if she does her best cause 17th isn’t the easier place to be a server.
