I have been working as a TCS with 4Seasons for about three years, and it has been a great experience. I truly enjoy working here, especially with the incredible support from Sophia.
She is my school’s dispatch and is always there whenever I need assistance. When I first started using Veza, I found it a bit more confusing than RA, but Sophia took the time to explain everything clearly. Even when Veza had occasional issues, she was always quick to help and resolve them.
I really appreciate her kindness, patience, and dedication.
She’s always supportive, even when I ask for help a little too often!
Thanks to her and the great team at 4Seasons, I highly recommend this company as a wonderful place to work.

I had no idea I would love driving a bus (and this company) so much. The commute is amazing, I just walk across the street and start my work day. Parking the bus at home means no commute to work and more time with my family. I can bring my preschooler with me so no daycare needed. 4Seasons works hard to ensure a friendly, caring and fun workplace culture with lots of benefits and perks such as tickets to the Flames or Roughneck games. I love it here! Maybe you will too

Belinda is helping Divya for her Transportation to and from her school and she is amazing, always on time and she follows the schedule and informs on time if there is any notice for parents. Also she is very polite with good manner. I really appreciate her responsibilities with kids. specially, I notice in the winter time she always focus on child’s safety and any risk on the road side while picking and dropping kids, also she always make sure we are crossing the road safely in the winter and busy road time, that’s how I’m very impressed with her safety awareness. Not only on the road side, she always check the car seat that baby is properly buckled and safe. Very safe driver with knowledge and responsibility. Good luck Belinda for your upcoming journey❤️

It was a very big deal for my wife and I when we moved from our family home for the past 25 years. After considering several different moving companies, we decided to go with Personal Movers. We’re very happy with our decision. Solo and his team were great – professional, friendly, organized, careful with our things, and hard workers. We had a very rainy day, and the team just rolled with it. It didn’t slow things down other than to take precautions to protect some items. Alfred was very helpful getting us a quote, answering our questions, and organizing things. The team was on time and everything went smoothly. We would highly recommend Personal Movers.

Read your contract carefully!. Personal Movers are essentially not responsible for any damage to your home or possessions.
They sent us two teenagers for our move. Nice boys, but they had to be coached to do basic things like lifting an antique chest by its base, not it’s decorative handles, and turning a rectangular table at right angles to get it through the door. There was damage damage to our walls and to a teak bedroom set that had obviously had something heavy dropped on it. When I spoke with the company rep, Alfred, he told me He would send a written copy of the $50 he offered to have these things fixed. That was nearly 6 weeks ago and I have heard nothing from Alfred.
Definitely recommend finding another company.

This is not a review for this place but for a specific bus and a bus driver. Can’t fill
up the complaint form on the website.
Bus number 90, Bridgeland, weekdays morning. It’s supposed to be at the 19 St SW/11 Ave SW at 6:51 am, but it’s ALWAYS 5-10 minutes earlier and bus drivers driving so fast you know why? Because at 1 St SW/8 Ave SW beside Goodlife fitness, where he’s supposed to arrive at 7:08, he arrives at 6:58-7:00 just to go get the coffee at Tim Hortons. I’ll add photos with screenshots so you see the time. So he literally thinks that it’s normal, that people need to reach to the bus 5-10 minutes earlier, not having their coffee, for him to take his time in downtown in the middle of his shift to just chill. Few days ago in -10 degrees outside he made people at the next bus stop wait because again he went to get his coffee.

Photos and video just for two days, but it happens every day

Fabulous company! My daughter celebrated her 22nd birthday with friends and they were absolutely thrilled with their ride and the driver, Tony. He was in communication with my daughter and even shopped for drinks for them to have in the limo with a list she sent to him which was greatly appreciated. The limo itself (tuxedo stretch Excursion) was stunningly beautiful. They had so much fun they actually canceled some of their plans so they could spend more time in the limo. Tony was kind, professional and patient, and kept them all safe the whole night. We will absolutely contact this company anytime we need a driver for a special night! Thank you so much!!

Man, I don’t write reviews usually but Ecoway Movers killed it. We moved from Calgary to Medicine Hat which is like a 3 hour drive or whatever, and I was stressin cause I got three kids and a dog that don’t like car rides. The movers—Danilo, Chris, and Amir—literally took care of everything. They even gave my kid a sticker to calm her down lol. The packing was tight, not a scratch on my oak dresser (which I thought for sure would get dinged up). They even helped move my broken treadmill into storage for free. Felt like they was my fam. I think CALGARY has a good transit system, but there are flaws. My granddaughter was waiting for her bus to go to school and it was probably 25 below. She got on the bus and she was looking for her pass on her telephone, and the bus driver kicked her off the bus. I take the bus every day and I see multiple people pulling up their phones when they get on the bus. Why isn’t it ok for everyone? As another reviewer had stated the homeless get on for free. They can harass people on the bus too, and that’s OK but to kick a child off the bus that had a legitimate pass because she didn’t have it ready on her phone in such cold weather is completely unacceptable.

Today I’m waiting for a max yellow bus at the bus stop and it had a yellow sign up saying that the Stop was temporarily closed until April 15. I’m writing this on April 25. I waited at the stop and the bus flew by me shaking his arms at me to go back. So I went back to what used to be the temporary stop and it states it’s a temporary stop only until April 15. So I phoned the city transit and I said is this bus going to go right by me now too. The response was not apologetic, I was told they extended the temporary stop until July. I asked if they intended to change the sign so that people don’t stand at stops where buses don’t come.

Why have access to every thing on your phone if they can’t post a stop is closed before you even walk to it?

I’m mad at transit today, but I know there are many GREAT drivers out there that would have stopped for a senior waving them down at a bus stop. Amen to them all!

Understaffed, though higlhy efficient! Usually, government establishments are gloomy and slow to process, which this place is not! There are limited booths which are alternatively populated ( atleast everytime I’ve been there) . For some reason, they really love high temperatures, everyone I go to get my bus pass, come out sweating!

Absolute worse transit system in Canada homeless people are allowed on all the buses to sleep on without showing any type of bus pass while everyone else has to pay for one and people are allowed to talk on speaker phone but if my headphones are a little loud then the bus driver gets upset and asks you to turn it down when people are on speaker phone . Why don’t you have security or peace officers on trains or buses especially downtown it’s too dangerous for anyone to be alone downtown especially at night come on transit fix the problems !! Take the money out of the environment fund and fix transit now ! This has been going on for years put security and cops on your trains so people feel safe especially at night downtown and at Marlborough

Over the long weekend my sister arranged for our family of 20 people (of all ages) to go to the mountains so we could have a carefree experiences all together. It blew my expectations.
This company knows customer service. The bus showed up on time, the driver Harry was so professional and so kind. He made us feel well taken care of and safe. He even stayed later than he was suppose to and we never felt rushed! Everyone in our crew said this was the best experience and some were even planning their next adventure with this company. I hardly write reviews but this company deserved to be recognized:)

It was our last minute booking with such a huge crowd (22 people) and it worked out very well. We booked the trip day before our trip. Manny who was helping to book our trip was very nice and clam to book the trip. She even offered us if they can help us to book any additional trip, which saved us almost CAD1500.00. They were sending us constantly updates with driver’s current update. Driver (Atmul) was very nice, polite and professional. She called us in the morning to confirm the trip, pick up location and confirm if we need any booster seats for any kids.
Through out the trip Atmul was very nice and patient with such a huge group.
I would highly recommend this company to use again.

We were with our driver Harry on our tours of the Calgary/Banff area and we somehow met up with the Buddhist Master Thích Pháp Hòa twice in two different places! Wonderful experiences in Canada with the beautiful views and we’re lucky enough to coincidentally meet this Buddhist Master twice!

It’s a great day! He brought us to a lot of beautiful places in Banff. He is very friendly like daddy. I recommend to this tour if you come to Banff.

I’ve had an amazing experience working with the team at All About Care. It’s rare to find a business that practice what they preach, and that’s what you get with them. Kevin and Julie are the ultimate professionals but also truly care about their clients like family. If you need private home care services in Calgary or excellent companion care, I can’t recommend them enough.

We have trusted All About Seniors for providing companionship for my mother for the last 8 months and couldn’t be happier. Originally we used their services to take mom to appointments but as her dementia progressed we reached out to All About Seniors to provide some daily companionship. The companions are all so caring, wonderful people and it has made a huge difference to moms well being, we get such positive comments from the staff and other residents. The daily report keeps us connected from a province away and lets us know how she is doing each day. Highly recommend All About Seniors if you or a loved one requires a little extra support.

We have been benefiting from AAS for many years. We engaged them to find a companion for my mom who lives in an assisted living facility. All of the staff n the office are so caring and our companion, WOW, she is a perfect match for mom. I cannot imagine being with our companion. When she was away for a few days after a medical appointment – boy did we realize just how much mom depends on this care and companionship. I can highly recommend All About Seniors – from the office staff in helping to find just the perfect match of companion for mom to the timely follow-up emails after each visit. With a large family, in two provinces, the email makes it is so easy for folks to know what is happening in mom’s life.

Do you your loved one a huge favour – call All About Seniors and get some companion care sorted. You will not regret it – in fact you will wonder why you didn’t do this sooner! Giddy-Up!

I wish there was a rating higher than five stars! From my first phone call – to my most recent interaction with All About Seniors – everyone has been friendly, caring, helpful, and professional. It is not an exaggeration to say they have been a godsend. All About Seniors assisted in lining up companionship for my Aunt (who is in care) as well as driving and accompanying her to appointments. I cannot thank these good people enough for their patience, care and professionalism. Ruth showed kindness, respect and compassion. Thank you one and all.

All About Seniors receives my highest recommendation – from its Owner/Executive Director, Lynn, through its nursing and homecare staff, to its administration. I have retained this team on 3 occasions — to help support me and my elderly mother after springing her from hospital post- COVID, then again to provide support during my mother’s last palliative weeks living with me; and then to assist me (a younger senior) after a radical hysterectomy. Upon my recommendation, my mother-in-law engaged All About Seniors to support her daughter (younger senior) after she had surgery – and she also raves about the help and peace-of-mind she received from Lynne and her team.
My decision to release my mother from hospital was highly emotional and very scary. While I was determined to bring mom home, I was completely unknowledgeable as to what to do. Mom’s isolation and physical inactivity after breaking a hip and then contracting COVID had accentuated her vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s to where she was acting like a wild animal – she couldn’t walk, she couldn’t talk, she was eating with her hands, she couldn’t control her bowels, she didn’t know who I was, she was scared, she was angry and she had become very combative.
I called All About Seniors one evening in a desperate panic after being given permission to bring mom home in a few days and learning that AHS could not help me with homecare for several weeks. Lynne responded within the hour, we then met with her Director of Nursing and they put a nursing and homecare plan in place. That plan and the supportive nature of Lynn and her staff provided me with sufficient confidence to bring my mother home to live with us. When mom was brought in the house, carried on a blanket, All About Seniors staff were standing beside me and immediately went to work to make my mother feel loved and cared for. No exaggeration – within 3 weeks, my mother was talking, eating on her own, back to wearing make-up and able to walk across our main floor with her walker. My mother was given back to me and to her extended family for several months. I give All About Seniors full credit for that.
After we didn’t need the agency for homecare, I continued to retain them for companionship with mom. After my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer, her dementia grew much worse and she flipped day from night. She was hallucinating a lot and screaming out as she couldn’t communicate her pain. The agency provided the most wonderful caring and trained women to stay with her overnight so my partner and I could sleep.
My experience with All About Seniors spans at least six months so far. Throughout, my expectations have been continuously surpassed. I will engage them again in the new year as my own health challenges continue. In my opinion, they are the most wonderful, caring, trained people who will always do their very best. I trust them.

Couldn’t be more satisfied with the service I received from these guys. It was a weeknight and they were quick and courteous and drove my car appropriately. Couldn’t ask for more for a safe ride home. Will use them again
After reading the reviews from others, I would like to reiterate that the cost is no more expensive than taking an uber to and from the location and i can drive to work in the morning after waking up in my own bed with no dui

Scam. When booking they request the pickup and drop off address, once provided they provide a quote based on the kilometres travelled. I was quoted $92 and had a safe ride home. When going to pay I was charged $152 before tip. When I asked the driver why the rate was different than the quote he just explained that this was the calculated cost.

Rated 2 stars because they didn’t crash my car.

I was very disappointed with the experience using this service today. I was given an expected cost of $95 and ended up having to pay $154. This did include an extra stop that was along the way. It isn’t likely we will be using this service again. I could have used Uber or Lyft both ways for half the price.

Just got home after an awesome experience with Keys Please. Didn’t get then name of the drivers but they were married couple and the dude that drove me and my truck home was great. Easy conversation and a safe passenger experience. 10/10 will use again! Yes the cost is more than Uber, but I know my vehicle is home safe and not being vandalized or stolen and that’s 110% worth it.

Unit 106, Gord and Marnie were great. Prompt, friendly, treated my car respectfully. I normally use Uber when I know I’ll be drinking, who wouldn’t prefer to pay less. But there are nights that you don’t plan for those extra drinks fall into your mouth, so I’m happy to have a reliable service to get me and my car home to safety. Thanks guys.

Keys Please has always been my go to as well. Until the most recent turn of events. On September 19th I was out at a work function. I called Keys Please and they showed up in a timely fashion as they always do. The driver who I believe was named Patrick, could not figure out how to move the driver’s seat back and told me he «turned on the heated seats» which I then told him were actually on the dash. Now, generally speaking moving seats should not be that hard for someone who drives professionally. They all typically work the same, be it a button on the side or a bar under the front etc… This should have been my first red flag. At that time, he apologized to me and said he was «going thru some personal issues». What I didn’t know at the time until a few minutes later, is my co-workers witnessed him almost hitting a car backing out of the parking spot. Upon leaving the Steak House which was located off Barlow and 32nd NE, driving west on 32nd, the driver ran a red light IN MY CAR and lost his following car. He had plenty of time to stop. At the next 1 or 2 intersections, he then came to an almost complete stop in the middle of an intersection on a YELLOW light, then proceeded to exit the intersection on another RED light. Not to mention, he left the signal light on a couple times, and I had asked him if he was actually changing lanes or what? It was at this time, I told the driver I did not feel safe and that he should be able to drive better than I could under the circumstances. I told him to pull over and get me another driver. I then called my co-workers who by this time, had already made it to Deerfoot and 16th Avenue with their DD, yet I had only made it nearly 6 or 8 blocks with mine. Patrick pulled over at the Calgary Transit Center on 32nd, where I proceeded to kick him out of my car. Keep in mind, he lost his following car by blowing through a red light (technically 2). My co-workers made it to my location, which again was only 8 blocks away from the restaurant, long before his following car even showed up. Keys Please then proceeded to insist I pay nearly $35 for an unsafe ride. Besides, the ride itself, that right there is what made me completely irate. I refused to pay for this unsafe trip and they called the police. My co-workers and I waited quite a while to try and sort this out with the Police, however after waiting, my boss decided to just pay the $35 so everyone could go home and so that Keys Please would send me another driver. That said, the 2nd driver whose name was Gord was wonderful. Him and his wife were amazing, got me home safe and we had a lovely chat on the drive.

I will say this, I have been lobbying to use Keys Please for our company functions instead of taxis. In fact, a couple of my co-workers stated they also use Keys Please. Well past tense – they won’t anymore. And my boss said unequivocally, they will no longer consider Keys Please as a «safe» alternative to get our co-workers home from our many company events. One EXCEPTIONALLY bad experience, and how it was handled by Keys Please, has indeed cost them business. Mine, my co-workers who were all there to witness it, and my friends and family who I have shared my experience with. All I can say is, do better, be better Keys Please. The people that call you are trying to be responsible, good humans and yet they get penalized for YOUR errors, or those of your contractors, employees or however they operate.

Frequently Asked Questions about Transportation Services for Seniors in Calgary

What types of transportation services are available for seniors in Calgary?

Calgary offers a variety of transportation options for seniors, including public transit, specialized para-transit services, volunteer driver programs, and taxi services. Some community organizations provide door-to-door transportation, while others focus on providing access to specific destinations like medical appointments or senior centers. Each service has its own eligibility requirements and fees.

What is Calgary HandiBus and who is eligible?

Calgary HandiBus is a para-transit service offered by the City of Calgary. It provides transportation for seniors and people with disabilities who are unable to use conventional public transportation. To be eligible, individuals must demonstrate a mobility impairment that prevents them from using buses or trains. Applications require medical documentation to verify the impairment and can be found on the City of Calgary website.

How do I apply for HandiBus service?

The application process for HandiBus service involves submitting an application form, along with supporting medical documentation. The documentation must clearly explain the individual’s mobility limitations and why they require specialized transportation. The application form can be downloaded from the City of Calgary website, and completed applications can be submitted online or by mail. Processing times can vary, so it’s advisable to apply well in advance.

Are there any volunteer driver programs available?

Yes, several non-profit organizations in Calgary offer volunteer driver programs for seniors. These programs typically provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and social activities. The services are often provided on a donation basis or at a reduced cost. Finding a program requires research into local community organizations and verifying their eligibility criteria.

What are the costs associated with various senior transportation options?

The costs vary significantly depending on the service. Conventional public transportation has standard fare rates. HandiBus service incurs a fee, which is typically higher than regular bus fares. Volunteer driver programs are often offered at a lower cost or based on donations. Taxi services are priced according to the meter, and are generally the most expensive option. Understanding the cost structure of each service is crucial for making an informed decision.

How far in advance should I book transportation?

The required advance booking time depends on the service. Conventional public transportation generally doesn’t require advance booking. HandiBus service often requires several days or even weeks advance booking, particularly during peak demand times. Volunteer driver programs may also have limited availability, so early booking is recommended. Confirming the booking policies for each service is essential.

What happens if I need a last-minute ride?

Securing a last-minute ride can be challenging. HandiBus service often has limited availability for immediate transportation. Taxi services are an option, but can be expensive. Some volunteer programs might have drivers available, but this is often unpredictable. Planning ahead and booking in advance is always the best strategy, but having a backup plan, such as a trusted friend or family member, is prudent.

Can transportation services accommodate individuals with specific needs or equipment?

Most transportation services strive to accommodate individuals with specific needs. HandiBus vehicles are equipped with ramps or lifts for wheelchair access. It’s important to inform the service provider in advance of any specific needs or equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, or oxygen tanks, to ensure proper arrangements can be made. Confirming accessibility features is crucial.

Are there any programs that offer transportation to medical appointments specifically?

Yes, several organizations provide transportation specifically for medical appointments. These programs often partner with hospitals and clinics to provide safe and reliable transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Some are funded through grants and donations. Researching local community resources and contacting hospitals or clinics can help identify programs that meet specific needs. Understanding their service area is important.

What should I do if I have a complaint about a transportation service?

If you have a complaint about a transportation service, the first step is to contact the service provider directly and attempt to resolve the issue. If the complaint is not resolved satisfactorily, you can file a formal complaint with the City of Calgary or the organization responsible for the service. Keeping a record of communication is advisable when addressing complaints.
