Her wedding planning roadmap included monitoring of our budget and timelines, hiring and vendor management, customizing the design decor elements to meet our vision, on-site decor and venue coordination to ensure our wedding day was perfect! Julianne introduced us to some extraordinary professional vendors including; Corrina Walker Photography, Flowers by Janie, Lauren Larsen at Ensemble Calgary, Makeup Artist Nicole Saxton, Rondel Roberts Band and of course the staff & management at The Lake House. All were phenomenal!

Julianne is exceptional ….. she is experienced, creative, authentic, detail oriented, calm, collaborative, reliable and she instilled in us a sense of complete trust that she would successfully plan and oversee one of the most important days in our lives. Brett and I have very busy careers and we did not have the time to commit to planning our wedding on our own. We are a mature couple who are blending families of diverse backgrounds and we needed the support of someone who could personalize and tailor our wedding to meet our unique needs.

I can honestly say that hiring Julianne as our planner was the best decision we could have made. We chose Julianne as our planner based on glowing reviews from our friends, who had a stunning and flawlessly executed wedding. From our first email and meeting with Julianne, we were so impressed. She is professional, warm, and organised. Julianne just *gets it,* ya know?

The planning of our wedding was complicated- we planned the wedding in only a few months from London UK, during the covid pandemic. The wedding was held at my grandparents’ cabin in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. The cabin is rustic, hard-to-find, and has literally no reception. In short, there was so much uncertainty and so many ways things could have gone wrong! But Julianne was by our side every step of the way; we never doubted she had everything under control. Julianne maintained a positive outlook while also being realistic with us about possible challenges related to the pandemic, our remote and rustic venue, and our budget.

Julianne, her team, and the vendors she selected executed an event that felt truly magical. When we arrived at the cabin on our wedding day and we saw how Julianne had brought the vision to life, I was truly speechless (and then burst into happy tears!). Julianne had brought to life dreams I didn’t even know I had! Throughout the day, Julianne and her team worked behind the scenes to ensure that every single moment went smoothly; we never had to worry about a thing.

In summary, I give Julianne Young my highest recommendation. She is truly exceptional at her job- her skills in communication, organisation, and creativity are top notch. But on top of that, Julianne is just a truly lovable human who you can’t help but want to spend time with!

They also gave us an extra 5 minutes to take half shot photos for my friends grad! Lovely and fun place and fairly priced! We had so so much fun and will definitely visit again

We booked a studio session and we struggled to get some decent photos with our 1 year old son because he wouldn’t sit still, but after our session ended the staff took extra time to help us shoot way better family photos!

They were also very professional and our passport photos came out looking wonderful. For the price you pay you are definitely getting your money’s worth.

The gentleman who showed us the equipment and process then came in after our 30 minute session was over and helped us pose and took more photos for us! It was one of the best experiences anyone can have at a photo studio.

I would highly recommend The Portrait to anyone who is looking for a fun time that is captured by high quality photography.

We had an amazing time at Jane Bone BBQ! The food was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and satisfying. Every bite was a hit!

What made the experience even more special was how the staff helped us celebrate my husband’s birthday. They went out of their way to make it memorable, and we truly appreciated the warm, friendly atmosphere.

Braden was communicative, easy to work with, and accommodated the insane amount of allergies our guests had (WHO IS ALLERGIC TO BLACK PEPPER??). His team that came out day of were so friendly and professional. Everything went smoothly.

We were at a DIY venue and I appreciated paying RM a very reasonable upcharge to have them clear all the plates.

Melissa and her team were professional, understanding, caring and exactly who you want on your wedding day (and leading up to it) to ensure everything runs smoothly. She responded to all my questions I pestered her with, very promptly (and there were lots!). She ensured I was comfortable each step along the way and made sure our every wish became reality.

Our wedding was so beautiful, it was beyond what we imagined. No detail was missed, she ensured we stayed on time, and communicated with us each step of the way. I also loved the checklist she provides of things that we needed to complete behind the scenes (i.e. when to make sure my dress alterations were complete). Melissa communicated with every vendor making sure everyone was on the same page, and so that we did not have to worry about a thing! My husband and I were able to relax, and enjoy our day knowing that each and every detail was expertly cared for.

Everyone says that one of the best things you can invest in for your wedding day is a planner or coordinator – and they are right. We had Melissa as our coordinator this past June, and I cannot sing her praises louder.

From the moment I first spoke with her to the end of the wedding night, both her and her team were on top of everything. Every single vendor email, detail, thought, and worry they handled with absolute grace. There were many points during planning that I found myself stressed, but knowing Melissa was in my corner put my mind at ease. I deducted one star because, in the past, their prices were significantly lower than competitors, but now their rates have risen to a level where they don’t look competitive. Additionally, the quality of the paper on which they print photos has been decreased. While the paper still meets all the necessary requirements and doesn’t cause any issues, if you’re going to raise your prices, please don’t lower the quality.

If you need both digital and physical copies of your photos, their combo package is a good deal. However, it’s rare that you need both, as most people only require one or the other.

They offer a 15% discount when you bring the coin envelope (the paper cover for your photos) on your next visit.

The photographer was not only skilled but also attentive, capturing the perfect shots with minimal direction needed. The studio’s atmosphere was welcoming, and the equipment was top-notch, contributing to the overall high-quality results.
