Dr. Alanen saved my life. I am forever grateful. He caught an early melanoma that several doctors and TWO other dermatologists dismissed. He knows his stuff and I thank my lucky stars that I saw him. Thanks goodness for his expertise. Also, everyone in the office has been so friendly, caring and accommodating!

I have been going to Dr Alanen at Derm.ca in Calgary for a couple years. The office is the most efficiently run medical office I have encountered. Dr Alanen gathers pertinent information and asks relevant questions and gets doing what needs to be done. He does speak quickly but if you miss something and ask for clarity he is more than happy to address your query.

The mole check was far too overpriced for a 2 minute check. Between $200-$300. I have been to several clinics and never felt so underwhelmed considering the price you pay at this clinic, I would have been happy if it was a thorough check but instead I have to find another place and get it done again.

This office consistently serves as a reliable choice for medical appointments. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, making the check-in process smooth. I appreciate that I am seen by the doctor close to the time of my appointment, which shows respect for my time. The doctor takes the time to listen to my concerns, ensuring that I feel heard and valued. Overall, this is an excellent doctor's office, and I would certainly recommend it to others.

Dr. Alanen came highly recommended and required my family doctor’s referral, but it took months to get an appointment. I was able to, underwent a consultation, and was prescribed various medications for an unknown rash that I have had since July 2023. I was able to book a follow-up appointment, for many months later, and called days in advance to confirm. I discussed my situation with a receptionist who said she’d speak to Dr. Alanen and get back to me ASAP. I did not receive a call back. On the day of my appointment, I called again to confirm only to be told my appointment had been cancelled. Why no call to tell me? This is extremely unprofessional. I waited months for this follow-up appointment and arranged for transportation, only to have to find out for myself, at the last minute, that my appointment was cancelled. Shame on Derm.ca for treating patients with such disregard! Update: I received a response to this review and it was dishonest. They claim to have notified me to cancel, but they did not. Furthermore, I was just told by a trusted neighbour, who was being treated for skin cancer, that they did the same to her. They cancelled her appointment without telling her.

Had laser facial resurfacing done for the first time. Ildiko was extremely informative, friendly and easy to talk to. I look forward to seeing the results once my skin is less red. I felt very comfortable and have already rebooked another appointment.

I very happy with my first visit. No waiting time, super friendly stuff and Dr. Alanen very easy to work with. My skin tag was quickly removed during the first visit.
