We have been bringing our dogs here for about four years now and they have been amazing the whole time. The staff know our dogs, their personalities, and their haircuts. I recently started following them on Instagram and now I see the photos they take when my pups are at daycare and they message me the individual photo of my dogs through instagram!
Our vet recently indicated that one of our dogs needs her teeth professionally cleaned and to prevent or delay more expensive vet cleanings, we should brush her teeth more often. I have decided to ask Marda Loop Doggie Daycare and Spa to brush both our dogs’ teeth when I drop them off for daycare. I would highly recommend taking your dogs here for daycare and grooming. They take good care of our dogs and make our lives easier.

My wife and I have been sending our dog here since we adopted her almost 3 years ago and it is great! The staff are all super friendly, the facility is nice and has plenty of room to play, they have a camera so we can check on our dog during the day, they do cute photo shoots with the dogs for holidays, and whenever we check the camera the staff are playing with the dogs and treating them really well. Our dog gets super excited when she walks in and always comes home tired from playing all day so it’s great for burning off that puppy energy. We’ve also had her groomed here and they do a great job. BEWARE! I’ve been a loyal client for almost 15 years, but no more. Ever since the owner Janette left it has gone downhill. The only decent groomer that works there is Sarah but she’s a 2 month wait to get an appt.
They take half a day now to service your dog, and when you pick them up the haircut looks nothing like what you asked for. Also, if you have a lap dog don’t wear shorts to pick up because when they trim your dog’s nails, they become razor blades and will tear up your legs and your furniture. Just awful service all around. I’m waiting for my refund.
For reference – First photo is what I asked for, second and third are the uneven, un-shapely small headed teddy bear-esq creature that I picked up. Last photo is what he looked like before they chopped him up for $100.

Sarah gave our rescue Cavalier a bath under her very capable hands.
Bruce is a very anxious boy. Having been kept in his cage most of his life, he doesn’t know anything outside of it. Sarah took her time with him, bathed him, shaved off any matting, and returned him to us as a brand new, handsome boy. When we came to pick him up, he was energetic and pacing around like he owned the place – something he hasn’t even done at our house yet. This suggests that she made him feel super comfortable.
We’re so pleased to have Sarah as our groomer for Bruce, as he is a very stinky boy, and she made him smell a lot better!

I took my 6 year old Sheltie there today for his first professional groom. I was nervous since I had always done him myself but due to health reasons I couldn’t do it at this time. I am so impressed from the time of booking, through check in to pick up was a very pleasant reassuring experience. When I picked my pup up I was so impressed at the cut and feel of his coat. He loved it there and did not want to leave. To top it off it was very reasonably priced. Great job!

Amazing first visit, will be a repeat customer. The groomers clearly love animals and take pride in the service they provide. My puppy went today for her first grooming appointment ever. While it broke my heart to watch him stare me down as I let his groomer, Laura, take him to the back to get started, I could tell he was in excellent hands. Not only did he come back to me happy and the handsomest little fella, he’s been better around other dogs since.

Charlie has visited Marika twice now and she always does the best job at calming his nerves and making him feel safe. When I came to pick him up today, she had him perched on her lap at the front desk giving him pets and love. This is the first grooming place that we have gone that asked about any behavioural issues while building his profile in the system. sWag came recommended from a YYC Doodles group when I was nervous for my 4 month old puppies first groom. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted or what was possible with her fur type, but I didn’t want her to look too different. Ashe did such an amazing job with my Indy. She took her time to brush out and not just cut the hair to make sure it wasn’t too dramatic of a change for me. She also did her best to blend in the DIY face trim I had to do myself before Indy had all her shots
We were pleasantly surprised by the great price and the treat bag and bandana they sent her home with. And no surprise, Indy loved her time there and warmed up to Ashe right away ☺️

My Forest cats had a great experience here with Nichole! It was their first time at Swag and it was ten month old Rocky’s first time with a groomer, her brother Boris is a pro. The staff was amazing and sweet and very attentive. The Swag Bag of kitty treats was a big hit.
Edit to add, Boris appears to be missing a chunk of fur but he is not. He drank some water and got it all janky.

I had been taking my two dogs to these groomers for about two years I was happy how my dogs looked and behaved after they got home. Now my last visit was horrible the groomer was very rude and rough with my female dog. The groomer stated she wouldn’t sit still wanted to lay down all the time. My dog was very upset and shaking. Both of my dogs got the worst haircut this time. The staff had always told me my dogs were well behaved. I noticed the last two times we were at this groomer that some of the staff were not there. Don’t know if ownership changed or what. But I will NEVER TAKE MY DOGS BACK THERE AGAIN

I took my two dogs here for the first time and I loved the experience. Even though the grooming salon is operated from a house, it is very professional! I did not expect the entire basement with it’s own door dedicated to the grooming space. Do not be discouraged by the groomer operating from home! It really is clean and very well and professionally set up.
I brought my big dog (German Sheppard x Akita) and a long haired Chihuahua for wash and groom. I couldn’t believe how good my big girl looked! She was washed and all the extra hair was brushed out of her. My Chihuahua got a full shave and she looked absolutely adorable.
The pricing is very reasonable and I will definitely be bringing my dogs back again.

Pups Best Style and their staff are amazing! They will take their time by cycling between dogs throughout the day and the dogs are allowed to roam and play with each other between stages of grooming rather than be kennelled. They have been so great and patient with our rescue poodle mix since we adopted him a year and a half ago. He is always happy after grooming, and he loves getting a day of playing with other dogs. At home, our dog doesn’t like to cooperate when we’ve attempted things like nail trims ourselves. It’s unfortunate because I wanted to support local, but my experience here has been ruined by the owner.
My dog was groomed here in December and they found lice on him – something I was told was going around in the area at that time of year. I got the call to pick him up and when I paid I didn’t realize I’d been charged for a bath and for their lice room cleaning. I brought him in again today to be groomed and they couldn’t complete it because he was too scared. When I paid today it was $23, when I paid in December it was $90 ($75 plus my tip). After chatting with the owner I’ve since learned that this was due to the additional lice cleaning procedures, but that was not made clear to me at the time.
While I understand needing to cover those costs, I think Urban Dogs should be more transparent in telling the customer what they are paying for and should have a statement clearly on their website. It is really unfortunate the way the owner handled this as not even an apology was made and it would’ve gone a long way in making me feel like a valued customer.
