Maple loves visiting Homes Alive Pets! I really like how they have a large selection of raw and freeze dried foods. They probably have one of the biggest selections of dog outdoor clothing/gear in the city. Prices are pretty competitive. They also have a weight scale and watering station.

Love stocking up here on the first Tuesday of every month! They have an incredible selection of things. Ever since my dog was a puppy he’s struggled with allergies and we’ve treated them through an elimination diet and Home’s Alive has always been able to cater to every dietary need he’s had. I do find the accessories and toys to be more affordable at other stores and for a store this big I sometimes feel the staff should be more knowledgeable but overall I really like it here and my pup also enjoys visiting.

I just discovered this place about a month ago. Let me tell you, I am floored by how great this store is. My go tos for pet supplies in the past had usually been Pet Valu and Petsmart. I've been to Pet Planet and Global Pet Food as well, which were about on par with the aforementioned two. Good enough, but nothing to write home about. Homes Alive Pets changed how I shop for my animals and opened my eyes to many brands that I didn't know existed. It was like walking into a mini costco for pets. Brilliant. The prices are maybe slightly higher than Petsmart, about the same as the others I've mentioned, but the selection is second to none. The other pet stores pale. Pisces in the NE is probably second for selection, but their price tag is higher than HAP. The staff at HAP are excellent! Super helpful and always friendly. We brought our 8 week old Chihuahua in to get a sweater, and I regret I never got the young ladies name who helped us. They didn't have anything out that would fit our puppy, so she went in the back and looked for a solid 20-30 minutes and came back with 4 adorable options for us! Thank you, young lady, you were stellar! The other times I've been there, I didn't need help but was always offered it, but an associate or two, but not in a pestering way. The location is clean and easy to get to with ample parking. One note is they only have supplies for dogs and cats, it appears. And cats do get a much smaller section of the store with less selection. As a cat mom of 3, I wish they had a little more, but they still have probably a similar breadth of selection as Petsmart, just with a better selection of Canadian and niche products/brands. They have made a lifelong customer of me for sure! Update: Still my favorite pet supply store! And an excellent policy for food product satisfaction guarantee. I'll drive across the city just to go there. My puppy developed issues with chicken based foods, and this is the only place I've been able to find a decent selection of alternative protien puppy foods. Home alive has upped the price of all bully sticks by at least $2.00… what a shame, they used to have competitive prices but now since they’ve been open for a year or so they are upping prices on everything to match all the other pet stores. There were still a few bully sticks in the pile with the original price ($11.99) but all the new ones were upped to 13.99. All the bully sticks (brands and different sizes) have gone up in price now. A lot of other things in the store I noticed as well. Very disappointing.

The store has some unique food for cats and dogs. I found it to be reasonably priced, fairly well located, service staff were very helpful. I cannot buy the food that I bought for my cat anywhere else so I will continue to go there. I would recommend for pet owners looking for different foods. All top quality. Some discussion about opening a second store in Calgary, in the north, at some point.

Been meaning to stop in here since they opened, finally did and it will definitely be my new pet store! Everyone working was so kind and helpful, the selection and prices were by far the best in the city. Really impressed with all the brands and variety they offer. The store is beautiful and the lay out is so nice. I was seeing the same things I frequently purchase at reduced costs compared to other stores. The man working the front till got me signed up for the rewards program & me and my dog are happy
