I would like to write this as a huge thank you from my family and I. A month ago I had to come in to VCA North unexpectedly, and say goodbye to my soul dog. From that morning I had a feeling that his sudden sickness was very serious. Going in I was extremely emotional and distressed. But from the phone call, to getting to the front desk, to being in the room, to saying goodbye; the receptionist, vet tech, and Dr. Imogen was so incredibly comforting and empathetic. The receptionist (I’m sorry that I have forgotten her name but she had glasses, red short hair, and tattoos), she encouraged me over the phone, and comforted me in the room, and I could genuinely feel how much she felt for me in that moment.
It is a difficult job to have to manage some of peoples worst days but it’s a job that has to be done. So I’m incredibly thankful for everyone who does it and does it with grace and kindness. I find comfort knowing that Roman got lots of pets and cuddles by lots of sweet people before his last moments and he adored that for sure
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart, and the handwritten card from all the staff was beautiful Continue to lead with your hearts and use your gifts to take care of all the precious animals, as they bring a unique joy and goodness everywhere they go.

This vet is ultra expensive and the vets/receptionist always seem to be in a rush and rude. When I was talking to the vets and receptionist, I was cut off a lot. When I was explaining an issue to the receptionist, she cut me off a lot (I think she assumed she knew what I was going to say) and then misunderstood the problem I was trying to convey. It also costs $100 to just talk to a vet. We ended up forking out $3500 just for them to look after my cat and empty his bladder. I was then told I could see how my cat was doing after taking prescription medication or have my cat go through surgery. The vet said that surgery can have complications, so I told them I wanted to not go for surgery yet. I did research after and complications for bladder surgery is rare and most complications are due to the anesthesia. I was not informed that the complications were rare. My cat had suffered from a urinary blockage again not too long after and we went to VCA again. They said they would charge $5000 for bladder surgery and two overnight stays, which we didn't end up doing and went to another vet hospital.
I went to Barlow Trail Hospital instead and they charged $1500 with no overnight stays. It cost nothing to talk to a vet at this hospital and the vet texted us everyday about my pet to check on his health. They also gave free urinary food. This vet went above and beyond and I would recommend Barlow Trail Hospital if you can go there during opening hours. The vet there also said we should keep my cat out of there as much as possible because my cat hates the vet, while VCA wanted my cat to stay longer after surgery.
I called the VCA to ask about the prices of the same urinary food that I got from Barlow Trail Hospital. When I asked about the prices and I misheard her and was wondering why the prices were so high, the woman on the phone yelled at me as she corrected me on the price. She apologized in person when I went to get the food, but I still feel like this behaviour is unacceptable and rude, especially since I just went through such a hard experience with my pet. I work with clients with addictions and people on the street and I do not treat my clients this way, burnt out or not. It's incredibly unprofessional. I will say the receptionist did mean her apology and tried to make it up to me, but it still was an uncomfortable situation.
I love my cat so much. Peanut Butter is a good cat and he is a smart cat that knows tricks. This was such a difficult time for me.

Had such a great experience at VCA with Dr. Erfani. From the moment we walked in, the staff were super friendly, welcoming, and caring. Dr. Erfani had such a great attitude and made sure my puppy, Luna, felt totally comfortable during her first visit. She took the time to explain all the necessary shots for Luna’s age and answered all my questions clearly.
I ended up signing up for their care club, which covers all the vet visits, her spay, and a bunch of other things for the first year, definitely worth it. As a bonus, the first visit was completely free thanks to their puppy promotion. I’m super happy with the whole experience. Dr. Erfani is amazing and I highly recommend her if you’re looking for a vet who truly cares.

We brought our 7-week-old Golden Retriever puppy, Luna, in for her first vaccines and were so impressed with Dr. Erfani. She was kind, patient, and clearly cared about Luna’s comfort. She answered all our questions and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!

I dunno how anyone could give them a bad review.
They are expensive but you pay for what you get! Start to finish they were incredible! Front desk and doctors everyone was so caring and helpful!
They help you with payment options and make everything as easy as possible with your pets care as their number one focus.
They explain everything very well and try to keep the cost at only what is really needed.
I have no doubt Marshmellow received the best possible care and we took him to the right place.
If you are worried about your pets health and not being about to afford it doesn't matter take them in! They will help you. I cannot thank them enough. It's rare to find such great care and as someone that has a family member that runs their own veterinarian clinic in Manitoba I greatly appreciate great service.
A medical emergency is always very scary! Please remember to treat the staff kindly regardless of the situation.
