Customer Reviews
10/10! Highly recommend Bridgette Bar to anyone. This was my first time trying the YYC location, however I have been to the Canmore location. Both are equally amazing. Best steak I’ve ever tasted both times. We had the Truffle Mushroom Rigatoni and the Wood Grilled Beef Strip Steak. Chefs kiss. Great recommendations from the staff pertaining to the well crafted cocktails, all around beyond accommodating and kind vibes all around. I love this place, I hope everyone has a chance to try this and be in such a rad atmosphere.
Sydney Freeman (☆ 5/5)

We had an incredible experience at Bridgette Bar. Out of towners, we showed up on a Friday without reservations. They said the only seats they had were at the Chef’s Bar. We’ve never sat at a Chef’s Bar but decided to give it a try. What a great time! It was fun watching the cook staff and chatting with them. And the food was outstanding! If we lived in Calgary, Bridgette Bar would be a regular stop!
Suzanne MG (☆ 5/5)

We don’t live in Calgary so this was my first time trying Bridgette Bar. Great location downtown. Really cool building with unique decor. The service was really great, the server was very attentive, but not annoyingly so. Food was amazing. We had bread and butter and brussel sprouts to start. Then my wife had the rigatoni and I had the maple trout, all of the food was really good. Finished it all off by sharing a delicious banana pie. Thanks for dinner!
Tanner Leavitt (☆ 5/5)

Amazing food! Drinks, starters, salads, entree, dessert- all of the courses delicious and to top it off they accommodate gluten free diets! Traveling from Kansas USA and thankful to have the best server, Liam!
Jamie Stafford (☆ 5/5)

We ordered the garlic bread, cauliflower, asparagus, Strip steak and the rigatoni. They were very good! It’s a little on the pricer end. They ran out of the banana cream pie which was unfortunate as a lot of people rave about it. We will be back for sure to try that and more dishes!
saaima samji (☆ 5/5)

We’ve always had an amazing time at Bridgette Bar, for date nights, Christmas parties, and nights where we join friends after an art event. I took my husband for a date night for the YYC experience, and honestly Tristan our server made the evening for us. First course, we both chose steak tartare, and the second course we agreed the gnocchi was better than the pork presse (it wasn’t bad, just not our taste.) the crazy thing was the dessert…I normally hate rhubarb, and of course Brigette Bar made a dessert out of rhubarb that I really, really, liked. It wasn’t too sweet, and it was almost like a better apple crumble. Loved it!
Mz Thang (☆ 5/5)

Finally got to try Bridgette Bar after living in this city my whole life! I loved that this is a sharing restaurant so that you can try a bunch of different things. However, it was very loud and definitely hard to have a conversation.
We ordered the garlic cheese bread, beet salad, rainbow trout and ricotta dumplings. Out of these, we probably would only order the beet salad and rainbow trout again.
While the cheese bread & the ricotta dumplings were good, they could’ve been seasoned more & have more depth of flavour – they unfortunately just weren’t stand out dishes to us.
However, the beet salad was phenomenal – the beets were paired beautifully with whipped feta, herbs & pistachios. The rainbow trout was also very delicious as I loved the maple BBQ sauce & the smoked potato puree.
All in all, it is still a great restaurant option here in Calgary & definitely worth trying!

Customer Reviews
It’s a spacious restaurant that also offers outside seating. The main course that we had, the sirloin & dumplings, the blackened chicken with rice and the green salad were excellent. The drinks less so, with the spicy, guava placebo / margarita having a slightly synthetic taste. The general atmosphere was upbeat and cheerful with multiple screens featuring ongoing sporting events. We enjoyed our dinner here.
Ramdas Pisharody (☆ 4/5)

Amazing dinner at the Local Public Eatery. We were sitting at the very back, and our server was Annie. We got the shrimp dumplings to start and they were absolutely delish. The local burger and peanut noodle satay salad for mains were very good as well. The atmosphere was amazing, with great tunes and a view of the kitchen. As restaurant staff ourselves, it really felt like we could both enjoy our night off and day out while also see the atmosphere and flow. Amazing experience, thank you Annie for the recommendations, you were amazing!
Alexis Jarman (☆ 5/5)

I wanted somewhere for a light lunch and a drink. This had outside seating and it was a sunny warming day.
We were quickly seated, and after studying the menu we ordered a salad and drink. Service was quick and the food soon arrived. Very prompt service. The salad was very tasty and also quite filling.
Other diners were having more substantial meals.
I also drank a craft hazy IPA
Some music was playing outside, not too loud, so still able to have a conversation.
Steve The Techy (☆ 5/5)

Hamburgers were delicious. The onion rings were so crispy and good, we ordered a second round. Yumm!!! Service was great. Very big space with lots of tables. They played some great music too.
Diana Mai (☆ 5/5)

We had to seat at the patio since all tables inside were full and the host offered a blanket as it was a cooler evening and not all the patio heaters were available. Great service! The ramen+fried chicken was delicious although a bit spicy for my tolerance. Chicken burger was awesome.
Katharina Gramlich (☆ 5/5)

I loved this place! The food is amazing, the ambience is beautiful too and really nice workers. Would highly recommend. We also got the peanut butter and chocolate dessert which was so so so good. It is not too sweet and absolutely delicious. I’m not the biggest fan of peanut butter and wouldn’t personally choose that on the menu, but my friends got it and I was shocked how good it was. The appetizers we got were perogies and tacos (both amazing), and the main dishes were the Local burger and the Korean BBQ (also amazing). 10/10 would recommend!
Fernanda Sant' Ana (☆ 5/5)

Great place, and an even better service. Our server, Cait was absolutely wonderful and helped me and my partner with some food recommendations and places to visit in Calgary during our time here. Highly recommend stopping by here when you are in the area.

Customer Reviews
What a lucky find! We were searching for a brewery near our hotel and stumbled upon this place just 150 meters away. We stayed at the Residence Inn. It was a no-brainer, and we were absolutely thrilled with our discovery! The beer selection was fantastic; my husband was a huge fan of their Tokyo Drift, and I particularly enjoyed the Hazy IPA. The atmosphere was spot-on – a great vibe with the music at a perfect volume. The food was also delicious. We shared the shrimp linguine (a little pricey and no garlic bread, but tasted good) and the beef birria nachos, this one was generously portioned and paired really well with their green goddess dip. And the cheesecake wrapped in phyllo pastry with a berry compote? Pure genius! It’s a must-try. All the servers were friendly, but Jasmine was exceptional. She was awesome and gave us some great recommendations not just for their offerings at Last Best but also for exploring the Calgary area. We loved it so much, we actually came back the following night for another round of craft beers! We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area.
L Quijano (☆ 5/5)

I’ve been to Last Best many times and always have great food and service.
The spicy chicken sandwich always slaps, as well as the smash burger. I got the beet salad this last time and it was pretty good, but I wish the beats were a bit more seasoned.
Monday nights are Trivia and it is run very well with a gift card to Last Best for the winning team (when I was there at least).
I have had Denise as a server many times, and she is always a sweet heart.
Emily F (☆ 5/5)

I had an okay experience at Last Best. The biggest highlight was the lively atmosphere on a Thursday night – it was bustling, which added a fun vibe. The happy hour pricing was definitely a plus and made the visit worthwhile from a value standpoint.
As for the food, it was just average. Nothing really stood out or wowed me, so if you’re going for the culinary experience, you might be left a bit underwhelmed. Overall, it’s a solid spot for drinks and a social evening, but don’t expect anything too memorable from the menu.
Linda Ho (☆ 4/5)

Great brewery with a fantastic selection of craft beers and a well-executed food menu. I tried the lime lager, which was crisp, refreshing, and well-balanced, and paired it with a delicious pepperoni pizza that had the perfect mix of crispy crust, flavorful toppings, and melty cheese. While prices are on the higher end, the quality justifies the cost, and their happy hour deals—especially the all-day happy hour on Sundays—make it a great spot to visit. Friendly atmosphere, great drinks, and solid food make this place worth checking out!
Gleb Kornienko (☆ 5/5)

Love this place Great service and food! Definitely recommend the gin flight they had so many interesting gins to try! Beer selection was wonderful with something for everyone!
Randy Pearson (☆ 5/5)

I was there not for beer and I believe beer is great there.
But food is pretty average. My shrimp pasta tasted not as I expected and really lacking some kind of good sauce to it. Halloumi fries(ordered to share) is also not what we were expected this kid of cheese doesn’t really created to be breaded….
Svitlana Murhina (☆ 3/5)

We visited Last Best with our three-year-old son and server Bianca (we think? It’s been a week since we met her!) was so wonderful with him. She was very thoughtful – getting our little guy’s order in first and was really lovely to chat with. The food was also exceptional. We enjoyed the whole experience. Thanks for having us!

Loved this place! Good selection of food, the steak bites are a must. Cocktails are generous, and ask Lane for recommendations, he will be sure to match you with something good! Service was absolutely excellent, made us laugh the entire evening. The decor and ambiance are incredible, beautiful venue for a date as well!

Faith was our server for my partners birthday and she was amazing. Really went above and beyond to make our lunch special. The food was great, and the cocktails were even better! Will definitely be back.

Thank you for service, Amanda and Nova
Thank you for delicious food, many chefs
Thanks to you, I was able to have a full and good lunch.

Incredibly unique atmosphere: pub inside an old bank. They even have a real vault room downstairs! Decent beer selection too. Great to watch sports- big TVs
Unfortunately a bit too empty for a pub (even though it was a Tuesday)
Anton S. (☆ 4/5)

The pub is located in the old Bank of Nova Scotia building, and the atmosphere was amazing—very vintage and nostalgic. On Mondays and Wednesdays, their fried chicken is 75% off, so we tried two flavors. The honey butter flavor was absolutely delicious! Down in the basement near the restroom, there’s even an old bank vault. It was such a cool experience!
Ye Tian (☆ 5/5)

My partner and I came here for drinks on a weekend evening. It was not busy at all, and yet barely any server paid attention. Terrible service starting at the entrance, one of the servers even saw us waiting to be seated and just passed through (!!!). We then on our own decided to sit at the bar so the bartender could notice us – she did not come take the order for the first 15mins since we sat ourselves. She was just right there, washing and organizing stuff, not a single other customer to serve. Ridiculous! She finally took our order. My drink was so sour – felt like I was having lemon juice, straight. Again, had to wait for so long to let her know I could not drink this. She then offered some simple syrup and I agreed, as at this point we were absolutely not in a mood to enjoy the place as we hoped for. We saw so many great reviews and wanted to give it a try for a long time. Why do people come here? For wasting money? For getting awful drinks and service? Probably just for ambience, I assume.
Shrushti Shah (☆ 1/5)

My friend and I went for $1.50 oyster and half price wine night. The oysters are fresh and yummy. Their oysters are from the east coast which is also my liking. We also enjoyed the choice of drinks Bank and Baron offer at a good price. We also enjoy the baked brie with lightly toasted breae slices. The brie is baked with rosemary, top with roasted walnut and drizzled with wild berries sauce. It is sooooo sooooo yummy.

I had the pleasure of visiting Leopold’s Tavern in Beltline for brunch, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! I tried the ‘Breakfast of the Month’ and wow, it was sensational. The flavors were spot on, and the dish was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was laid-back and inviting, with great service to match. The food truly stood out, and I left feeling completely satisfied. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for a fantastic brunch!
Carolyne de Oliveira (☆ 5/5)

DELICIOUS Baja Tacos! It was seasoned and spiced but not spicy. So flavourful, nice and filling. The blackened chicken was definitely the way to go for me – great cooking and blend of flavour.
The tavern is a tavern, so at noon on a Friday the music was a bit too loud for my tastes. No problem, this is a tavern, it’s basically required. The food took a little more than 20 minutes to get to me, so don’t come here starving, but come here ready for great food.
I don’t know how they found ingredients that were this fresh in March, but holy moly, it was great. $19 for the Baja Tacos, which is first on the «Favorite» section of the menu (for what I think is good reason!). Absolutely lovely experience.
Georga Y (☆ 5/5)

Overall was an ok experience. Lively crowd so clearly a favored place for the locals.
Atmosphere was pretty nice with lots to look at. Music suits the location though a tad on the loud side makes for conversation competing with the music. Food was mediocre. Wrap was alright. More leafy greens and fillings than meat. The fies on the other hand was not at all good. Cold and undercooked. Pricing is a bit on the high side for what you get but that seems to be the norm for this area. Whether it be a wrap fries and a beer or burger fries and a beer, you’re not leaving under 35 bucks for a single meal.
Unfortunately didn’t leave me satisfied on my trip, but still a different experience from back home.
It's A Dyer Thing (☆ 3/5)

It was my first time going to Leopold’s. We waited for a seat, went for a smoke and we were at the back of the line. We were seated 3rd behind 2 new groups of people. No complaints, as we were seated quickly. Food was great (tacos and wings), Blueberry fizz was life changing. Very good place.
Matthew Emode (☆ 5/5)

Love love love Leo’s–especially this location! The staff are super welcoming and friendly, and the food is to die for. The best pub food and drinks you can get for some unreal pricing as well. Will always come back for more. My friends and I absolutely adore Hannah 🙂
Drew Wrubleski (☆ 5/5)

Great menu. Lots of gluten-free and vegan options. Really impressed with that. Service was great too.
The downside is that it seemed they built the restaurant and then remembered they needed bathrooms. They are small and not great. Were I a woman, I would likely want to wait until I went home, as a man, I still wanted to wait to get home. They were tidy but didn’t feel like they could ever get «clean», you know what I’m saying?
I would still go back, as cold beer helps me forget….

Our recent visit on Wednesday evening left much to be desired. The service provided by the staff was not characterized by kindness. Furthermore, the culinary offerings were generally unremarkable, with the exception of the double smashed burger, which we found to be excessively oily and unsatisfactory.
Soheil Ghazizadeh (☆ 3/5)

Went to the pub for dessert and ordered 1 of each that was on the menu, sticky toffee pudding and Nanaimo bar cheesecake. They were $13 each, the sticky toffee pudding was banana bread with the smallest amount of caramel sauce and ice cream, the Nanaimo bar cheesecake came in THE smallest jar, it was warm, powdery and the crust base tasted old. However our experience despite the desert was awesome thanks to our server Sarah, she was awesome! The atmosphere was top notch as per usual.

It had been a few years since we had been, so we thought we’d go back and try the brunch on the street patio. It was an enjoyable meal. It’s lovely to have businesses like this in our community.
The service can’t be beat here. We overhead at a nearby table where they forgot to key in the order, causing it to be delayed. The waitress profusely apologized and covered the cost of that dish for those folks. Talk about taking care of their customers to make it right. Top notch.
Fancy Travel (☆ 4/5)

Came here with friends for dinner and some drinks. It was great! Staff was friendly, and the atmosphere is great! Small little community pub.
They have a small-ish but great selection of beers on tap. The food was great, my table had the Sunday roast, schnitzel, fish and chips, and the sticky toffee pudding, and all were great!
It’s a tight place, and because it’s a neighbourhood pub, so expect to wait at peak times.
Quinn (☆ 5/5)

The haddock is AMAZING. 10/10
Coleslaw was flavourless 2/10
Peach drink (clearly not a Bellini but you could help by adding what peach drink it you have in your reply). All Prosecco and no peach 3/10
Waiting for the server was the worst part of the experience. It was slow, mid day and we were told to sit at a booth.
We waited nearly 20 minutes before we got drinks or menus. Then another 20 for her to come back to order.. food came decently, but then after we were done, she took our food, our drinks and we waited another 20 minutes for the bill.
That haddock though, I’ll probably order to pick-up next time I’m in the area! It was delicious.
Also why only mention the drink, and not the poor service???
Arika V (☆ 3/5)

A quick beer on a Friday afternoon. Lively area down here and the KP is must stop if you like old, well established neighborhood pubs. Grab a pint of a local lager and soak it in. Great spot
Cameron Wilson (☆ 5/5)

We enjoyed our beers outside on a cute patio and went inside for dinner. The inside was very cozy and the food was amazing. The schnitzel was great — I was worried about the gravy but it was mushroom based and very tasty (not at all heavy!). My group enjoyed everything we ordered.

Customer Reviews
Good tasting food, fun atmosphere. The only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars was because the wings are so small. I asked if they were the usual size and the staff confirmed.

Had a fantastic time at Limericks on St Patrick’s Day! Nathan ensured our group had a table for 12. Food was great. They had pipers, a drummer and Irish dancers. We enjoy meeting there monthly. Thanks Nathan & team.
Carol Hartwick (☆ 5/5)

Lachlan provided exceptional service without going over the top. He was attentive, efficient, and a pleasure to interact with. We sat on the upstairs patio which was lovely, and the food and drinks were delicious. Overall it was a great first experience and we’ll definitely be returning!
Dana Reimer (☆ 5/5)

Harsh. Drove all the way from the NW for the $29 Strip Loin steak advertised on the website.
They apparently don’t serve it anymore, we found this out after receiving prime rib. Our waitress was great about things when we showed it to her on their website and the manager came over and took things away.
We paid for the drinks and left because we really wanted steak and then on the way out the door they even had the S29 Strip Loin steak advertised on their own specials board as well.
Update your specials guys, that was a long drive in poor conditions.
I can’t say anything else was poor about your establishment as I’ve frequented it plenty over the past 20 years, you usually do a really good job. Your staff was really professional about things as well.

I didn’t order food this time but have in the past and never left a review. Leah though was so great figured I might as well leave one. What a friendly person and great service. Friendly conversation and never left waiting. Best service I have had in a long time as just a guy at the bar. I’d recommend

My wife and I had dinner and lunch here the following day. I will say the food is excellent. The burgers are a 10 and fries are amazing. Totally appreciate the BSB red ale. In house beer is cheap and fantastic. Secondly the staff are friendly and genuine. Lastly it’s located in the heart of downtown. The patio is excellent here as well. Please check this place out, you will not be disappointed.

Had an awesome time at Bottlescrew Bill’s in YYC! The atmosphere was lively, and the service was top-notch—staff were super attentive and friendly. The dry ribs were absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and crispy. Tried the IPA and it was spot on—bold, fresh, and full of flavor. The stout was superb too, rich and smooth with a great finish. Definitely a great spot to kick back with good food, great beer, and even better vibes. Highly recommend!
Calgary cribbage and beer meetup (☆ 5/5)

I was just there with my boyfriend to watch a soccer game and couldn’t be happier with everything! Service was top notch, the perri-perri salad and dessert were 10/10 and even the 0 alcohol beer was super cold! Our service never rushed us out of the table like most places in Canada would do, he was the sweetest and most helpful person ever 🙂
I’ve only been there before for beer but would definitely recommend it for food as well!
Luísa Borba (☆ 5/5)

A great place for friends and colleagues to hang out and enjoy good food. Love their bison burger! Service is also great!
Good Turtle (☆ 5/5)

Great little watering hole in the heart of downtown! Cool concept, large selection of beers, good food and excellent service! Would recommend.
Jordan Kool (☆ 5/5)

Wings were crispy, but super overcooked and dry.
The Bill’s sauce, which others enjoyed, for the wings was odd; it tasted like a mix of buffalo sauce and teriyaki. I think I’d prefer them separately.
At least a dog friendly patio.

Customer Reviews
Jamesons is an old school pub in the heart of 17th ave with wooden paneling and cheeky British signs.
Their food and drink menus are both very extensive, reasonably priced, and have something for everyone. I also really appreciated that they have a lot of non alcoholic options as well! I got the sugar + spice and it was excellent.
Karley was our server and she was very sweet and helpful!
Emily F (☆ 5/5)

I’ve been to this pub a few times. The food is great and I like their beer selections. The prices are very reasonable. I’ll definitely continue coming back!
JB (☆ 5/5)

This pub is an absolute gem in our neighborhood! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. The staff is friendly and attentive, always ensuring you have a great experience.
The food and drinks are top-notch, with a great selection of craft beers, cocktails, and delicious pub fare. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual drink or a full meal, they have something for everyone.
One of the things I really appreciate is that they allow minors until 9 PM, making it a great place for families to enjoy an early dinner together. It’s a rare find to have a pub that balances a family-friendly environment while still maintaining a lively and fun atmosphere for adults later in the evening.
If you’re looking for a great local spot with excellent service, tasty food, and a welcoming vibe, this place is a must-visit!
Elena Braslavskiy (☆ 5/5)

Jamesons is one of my go-tos for wings! They’ve got so many flavors, but the Greek sauce is my absolute favorite. Their drinks are also good! I love the Moscow Mule and Cactus crushable. The last time I was there, Anna served us. She was amazing and took great care of us.
Shiva Radmanesh (☆ 4/5)

Great neighborhood pub. Lots of beer on tap. Bartender and servers are great. Exceeds expectations of a local pub

Great place. Warm atmosphere. Nice staff. We had a great time.
Iryna Denysiuk (☆ 5/5)

Great pub. First time at this pub and will be going back. Stopped in to watch the Flames game and have a bite and beers. The service was excellent and we had the meat pizza and chicken club and both were excellent. Server let us know Happy Hour was ending so we could order drinks before it ended and she brought them to us when we were ready to have them, not many places would do that!

Customer Reviews
We went here for brunch and had a really nice experience. We ordered the breakfast burger, avocado toast, and fish & chips — and everything was tasty. The breakfast burger, in particular, was absolutely amazing — flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The fish & chips were crispy and satisfying.
We also tried a Guinness beer, just to explore something new, but now I know it’s not really my taste, a bit too bitter for me.
Our server was also wonderful, very professional, warm, and friendly throughout our meal. Definitely a place worth visiting again!

had the corned beef sando and potato soup and about 6 guiness, loved all of it. was actually here studying sign language early afternoon and the atmosphere was perfect. few tables with people but also quiet enough to feel like you have a comfortable space to get things done. server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. would recommend/will be back!

What makes the James Joyce on Stephen Avenue in Calgary the best pub in Calgary is that there are no TV screens. The authentic Irish Pub vibe is what attracts a more business-oriented clientele. For this reason, the pub is a good venue not only for social gatherings, but also for business meetings and dinner/dessert/drinks before or after a night at the theatre or a concert. This Calgary institution always evokes so much nostalgia. The menu has been honed to perfection with signature Irish dishes that transport Calgarians to the charm and coziness of the traditional pubs of Ireland right in the heart of downtown.
Amanda Achtman (☆ 5/5)

Friendly staff, affordable cold beer, nice decorations, perfect fish & chips… what do you need more to be happy?
Rene Thöne (☆ 5/5)

We swung by for a quick lunch before heading out on our bike ride and decided to sample their brunch menu. It turned out to be quite delicious! The staff were welcoming, the service was excellent, and the building itself was stunning. If you’re looking to unwind on a downtown patio with some delectable pub fare, I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a must-visit spot!
Linda Nolan (☆ 5/5)

Great patio right on Stephen Avenue. The service was fast and friendly. Love the interior of the pub. It’s not covered in TVs, so you can actually appreciate the charming interior, super traditional Irish style pub. Cozy nook space for gatherings and conversations. My husband and I love this place.
Lisa MM (☆ 5/5)

Decent Irish Pub on Stephen Avenue. No draught Guinness which was disappointing. They had cans but I went for Nebula on draught which tbh was meh. Good service and I like all the memorabilia. Quietish but it was a Monday night in March!
