As a beginner who’s been at the studio since late 2023, the studio has very good teachers for a variety of street style dances as well as excellent customer service. Overall community is also quite open and classes are formatted quite well for each corresponding level ( abs beginner, beginner, intermediate, advanced). The only one thing that would be a nice to have is to be able to have a studio room that would be bigger than room a to accommodate large events of dance auditions even better (although this is a very minor thing).

During the three years I took hip hop, I had an amazing experience. I'm 57, and I can't stress enough how these classes changed the way I understand the world today. The facilities are beautifully renovated, and Tara, the owner, is incredible—just like the rest of the staff. I wish I were a kid again so I could start dancing at a very young age. Here, you don’t just learn to dance; you also gain an understanding of its history and truly internalize the music. Dancing is a beautiful journey. I loved my experience at Pulse, and I can't wait to come back—hopefully soon!

If I could give this place a bonus star, I would - it is THE studio to learn hip hop and more in Calgary and is so incredibly welcoming and accessible to never-took-a-dance-class-in-their-life beginners.
I've had the chance to learn from a few of the teachers here and every single one of them is so so so good at making you feel comfortable, confident, and excited to come back. They have truly built a great culture and environment around dance, and it feels great to be around such a diverse set of people - both the teacher and student population have a lot of demographic variety. (It's also clear they have a really well-thought out progression and community building model, which I can admire - although I have yet to partake. Perhaps in a part 2 review!)
Huge shoutout to Alisha, who teaches kpop classes on Mondays. My first class with her, I could literally feel my social anxiety and self-consciousness melting away as she taught the movements clearly (with counts!), encouraged us to ask questions, and built our confidence as the tempo sped up. It is such a pleasure to learn from her. When I think of the type of person that can take your passing or hidden interest and give you the confidence and excitement to grow and be bolder, I think of her. Each class I take is another hour of fun, learning, and movement and I am delighted that this is my new Monday evening activity.

Pulse Studios is a wonderful place to introduce children to hip hop! Reasons we chose Pulse:
-Highly recommended by a friend and their positive experience
-We love hip hop!
-A fun environment for our little one to be introduced to the dance styles, history, and culture of hip hop
-Where they get to wear comfortable clothing and the kids don't need to 'look' a certain way
-Learn how to move their bodies, coordination, and fun dance routines
-The instructors are skilled, and great with the kids!
If you're thinking of putting your little ones into some type of activity but are uncertain, I recommend signing them up at Pulse!

I have been attending Pulse classes for both myself and with my kids for a while. It’s a wonderful studio because they have the BEST hip hop teachers, variety of classes offered and incredible workshops. The culture and welcoming staff give you a great experience and they always make it fun.

My daughters attended one of the week long summer camps at Pulse Studios. It was their first experience in the hip hop genre and community of dance. They absolutely loved the time they spent with these amazing teachers and learning all they could about hip-hop, locking, popping and breaking. They learned so much more than just a form of dance. It was an exploration of people, a culture and a passion. Thank you Pulse Studios!❤️

The experience at pulse is unbeatable. Simply walking through the doors you get greeted by one of their lovely receptionists which sets the inclusive and warm tone of the entire studio. Furthermore, each instructor is more than well versed in the styles which they teach. Pulse truly immerses its students into authentic hip hop culture all while accommodating for everyone and anyone.
