Customer Reviews
Came here with my family right after I landed in Calgary for vacation. Location is open 24 hours which is good. Ambience inside was very nice with warm led lights and well lit booths. Restaurant was not crowded and we got a booth immediately. Server was very nice and very kind. Server gave recommendations on what to try and what is good. Food came out fast and was good. Chicken tikka was not available so the staff gave us something similar. When asked about it, they said it was not available only after we inquired as it looked different. But they then mentioned it was free since the dish we ordered was not available. Overall, food was good and I would recommend this restaurant if you are nearby!

We had a great experience at Samosa House. We were attended by Sandeep, who gave us excellent service throughout our visit.

We started with Veg Hakka Noodles and Manchurian – while the Manchurian gravy was a bit on the salty side, the flavors were still enjoyable overall. We then tried the Dahi Bhalla and Papadi Chaat, and they were absolutely amazing – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

For the main course, we ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Rara, and Paneer Lababdar along with Garlic Naan and Tandoori Roti. Everything was delicious and well-prepared.

Overall, a really satisfying dining experience.

I ordered a mobile order for Egg Bhurji and went to the store after 25-30 minutes. They said that they have no order as such. After showing them the call records that i called the store. The lady said she will make the order in rush. Thanks to her for making in done right away but the quantity is not even half of the container and i paid around $16 something.

We had an incredible dining experience at this Indian restaurant! Every dish was packed with rich, authentic flavors. The Aachari Fish was perfectly spiced, the Aloo Jeera had just the right balance of warmth and seasoning, and the Daal Makhani was creamy and comforting. The Misi Roti was fresh and flavorful, and the Manchurian had the perfect crunch with a delicious sauce.

On top of the amazing food, the service was superb! Gautam & Jag went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Their hospitality and attention to detail truly made our visit special. Highly recommend this place, can’t wait to come back!

Monday 19 May at 9 pm, five of us friends decided to visit The Samosa House. We ordered chicken tikka, chilli chicken and chilli paneer and 2 Kingfisher beers. Everything was served to us with great love and respect. There were 2 girls and a boy at the bar counter. We liked their service and the way they talked. Finally, we wanted another beer. Although I went to the counter to get it myself, the boy did not hand the beer to me despite my request. He kept it on the table. So, I liked everything about it all over.

It’s definitely a place to go with family and friends or just yourself and enjoy the authentic Indian cuisine. Freshly made food and taste was awesome. We were super tired of hiking all over Banff all day, I apologized for dirt covered shoes, and the owner accommodated us very well and said, «Don’t worry about it.» We enjoyed every bit of it. We ordered the meat platter and it was delicious. The next day, we went again, ordered food for takeout, and if visiting Calgary and Airdrie again, I will make sure to pay a visit. Keep up the good work

I went to the restaurant and i really like the food. We had mutton rogan josh, noodles, kadhai paneer and i really like the food. Staff is good too.

The very next day i thought to order from them again as i really liked the taste but i was so dissappointed by the food. I had ordered veg biryani, chicken biryani and masala chaap. Veg biryani was tastless, felt like normal home pullao without any taste. For chicken biryani, they just added some chicken pieces in the same veg biryani which was really a let down and the chicken was not even tasted like chicken. It was something tasteless and not even felt like a chicken. It felt like it was stale or bad bec it was so tasteless and even upset our stomach. I really recommend to improve the quality and standard of some of the dishes from your menu that you are serving to customers.

Lunch buffet was amazing, butter chicken was ridiculously tender, probably the most tender I’ve ever had

Tandoori chicken was equally as tender and fish pakora was addictive

Naan was served piping hot and soft

Kheer and mango pudding was delicious

HIGHLY recommend

Literally my favourite place for curry, I dream of malai kofta. The cutlery is gorgeous and I am amazed by the food every time. I am not from the same culture so I order dishes pretty randomly, all of them have been drop dead delicious. I love this restaurant and I keep coming back.

We visited this restaurant for lunch, drawn in by the 4.6-star rating and the promise of a good buffet experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be very disappointing.

The food selection was extremely limited and poorly managed. Many items, like the butter chicken, sweets, chicken starters, and fish pakoras, were empty and took 15-20 minutes to be refilled. It was frustrating to wait that long for basics at a buffet. When food was available, the quality was far from what we expected — it seemed like canned food rather than fresh, flavorful dishes.

The staff did try to help and were polite, but even with their efforts, we were left unsatisfied with the experience overall. We were hoping for a much better experience based on the ratings but sadly left quite disappointed

The food is disgusting.
We order chicken lollipop, platter for 2 and a goat biryani. The chicken lollipop looked like it was from a chicklet and the platter of two the tikka chicken was dry and no seasoning, the beef kebab was smelly and the samosa was just put on the table right from the fridge. The goat biryani had no seasoning and the goat was raw and smelly. Very unpleasant experience at the place. The only thing which was great is the pop that i ordered at the end. Overall the worst decision to go eat at this place. Never ever visit this place unless you have good medical services

I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, coconut rice and garlic naan via doordash today. I’ve made this order many times before and it’s always been great but today the coconut rice seemed a bit different. I noticed the rice look liked it had coconut flakes added to it making the taste extremely sweet. Normally I believe it’s made with coconut milk and has a nice nutty flavor but today I was just hit with overwhelming sweetness. It seemed like I was eating a dessert rather than rice complementing my Tikka masala. I’m not sure if this is a change in recipe or a mistake but I’ll be skipping the coconut rice in my next order. The tikka masala and garlic nann was still great though.

We had the lamb biryani and malai chicken tikka. Biryani was delicious and had plenty of lamb meat. Malai chicken tikka was okay, but wouldn’t recommend. Could have used more charring to enhance flavor. These ones had next to none. Portion size was good though.

This is, hands down, my favourite Indian restaurant in the city and it’s worth the drive; I live quite a ways from it being in the SW. Anything I order is beyond delicious.

Don’t be in a rush coming here, the food comes out timely but things run at a slower and more relaxed atmosphere, which I appreciate. The staff is always lovely.

The interior is stunning as well. It’s well rounded with amazing food, beautiful interior and friendly staff. My only complaint is that it’s not just down the street from me so I can skip in more frequently.

Just had takeout from Cinnamon Restaurant and it was absolutely amazing. Every dish was packed with bold, authentic flavors and arrived hot, fresh, and perfectly packaged. The Paneer Tikka Masala was rich and creamy, the Methi Chicken had such a unique, delicious flavor, and both the Coriander Naan and Garlic Naan were soft, fragrant, and perfect for scooping up all that goodness. The real surprise hit was the Crispy Honey Chilli Cauliflower was sweet, spicy, and perfectly crispy. From the quality of the food to the smooth pickup process, everything was top-notch. Highly recommend Cinnamon Restaurant for anyone looking for high-quality Indian cuisine to enjoy at home!

I have been to the NE location many times, but this was my first time trying the open buffet at the downtown location.

Food was great, couldn’t get to try everything cuz so many options, and that was only 20 bucks a person or 19.

The chocolate cake was great, the kheer, everything.

Bavneet did great job attending to our needs, and others.

I just only REALLY wish they used less oil with everything,

Enjoy the pics

Four of us went there for dinner, ordered multiple veggie dishes. The service was very good, Himanshi our server was excellent!

She was very attentive to our needs and provided the right feedback so not to over order food. ie. she suggested we order soup 2:1 instead of one each. Also when asked to reduce the volume of the music she made this happen.

I would go there again.

Really enjoyed this place. I mean, let’s be real, I ordered takeout so I wasn’t expecting too much but it was absolutely delicious. The butter chicken was velvety and totally awesome. I basically shovelled it in my face as fast as I could. The naan bread was different than what I’m used to, it was a little hard but it was so good. I will 100% be ordering from here again.

Celia and I thought we would give this cozy Indian restaurant a try and we’re really glad we did. The food is richly flavored and can be spiced up or down to the diner’s taste. The owner (must be) is on site and totally focused on his guests and their meals. We got the feeling he cared that we came in and was trying to make our meal a bit special. You don’t get that everywhere these days and it makes you feel good. So, great food, attentive service and a quiet space with a nice ambience. Definitely worth a go.

I went here on a Friday night and was able to get seated right away. Service was fine, not over the top, but good as I didn’t want to be disturbed anyway as I was in deep conversation with a friend.
I order the Tikka masala and I believe I also ordered the malai kofta. Both were so delicious. Very rich and creamy. I also ordered Naan and roti which were quite buttery!! They didn’t need to be so buttery with how creamy the food was.

We did order dessert after and our empty dinner dishes were left on the table even after the dessert order was taken. I asked the waitor to clear it as I’m sure they would’ve sat there otherwise. He was kind about it though and seemed kind to his other tables too.

This is a very busy place for take out. I recommend sitting in the back if the door being open and closed constantly bothers you.

Decor inside is beautiful. I love the chairs!

i ordered naan and butter chicken on doordash. the naan came good and the sauce of the butter chicken was fine too. HOWEVER, the chicken itself was raw in the middle. most of the chicken pieces came like this and i couldn’t eat most of them.

Just when you think you know what to expect from an Indian meal you get pleasantly surprised by a restaurant like Om Cuisine of India in Calgary, Alberta. Wow. Unique flavours, perfectly spiced dishes and very reasonably prices. I’m visiting from Toronto and when I return I will definitely tell my friends about the wonderful meal I enjoyed. Tell Ashish I sent you.

The food at OM Restaurant were very delicious and good value for our money (huge portions). We ordered butter chicken with naan, side of garlic naan and chicken biryani with raita. I highly recommend this place and we will be back again! We’d like to thank our server (Dharmik) and the chefs for going above and beyond to ensure that our lunch experience was exceptional!☺️

Absolutely incredible!! The owner and staff were extremely kind and helpful in selecting the most delicious menu items for us. For an appetizer we had the samosas (incredibly warming and delicious and the sauces were *chef’s kiss*!). For the main course I had the baingan bharta (delicious spicy eggplant) and my friend had a lababdar goat curry (made spicy for him since he likes it spicy lol). We also had the yellow dal tadka (yellow lentils) and garlic naan. Everything was absolutely out of this world! Flavorful, fresh and friendly place! Thank you all so much for the lovely experience!

Veepal, our server, was very accommodating. She took the time to explain the ingredients in the dishes we were considering and thoughtfully recommended some great menu options.

We ordered the special chicken with basmati rice. The serving size was generous—enough for two people, or even more.

For drinks, we had the mango shakes, which came topped with two mini scoops of ice cream—a delightful surprise!

And Bhert, the owner made sure to come out from the kitchen to ask patrons about the food and experience. A nice personalized touch.

The entire meal cost us less than $50.

Highly recommended. The portions are satisfying, the food quality is excellent, and the atmosphere is enjoyable with a mix of Delhi-style and modern music.

The best Indian restaurant in Calgary so far. The service was prompt and we were given options to choose spice level.

We also asked for recommendations which was given by the staff here.

I had gone through reviews and my fingers were crossed. So glad I decided to come here. Their chicken biryani is a must try and all the other dishes that we ordered have great flavour.

Even the tea tastes good. Hope they’ll continue to maintain these standards.

Top notch food! They have a huge selection of menu items and I really appreciated how many vegetarian options they had. We tried the dal makhni, masala dosa, bhindi and they were all delicious. The mango lassi is a perfect blend of creamy/sweet with a slight tanginess to it. They brought out a cheese dosa shaped like a mountain for my 3 year old nephew and he absolutely loved it! The restaurant owner Man Singh is so friendly and you can tell he really has a passion for cooking and hosting!

We recently dined at Raj Palace and had a flavorful experience with a mix of Indo-Chinese and classic Indian dishes. Starting with the Veg Manchurian and Gobi Manchurian, both were well-spiced with a nice crunch and coated in a tangy sauce that balanced sweet and spicy notes perfectly. The Hakka Noodles were a hit too — stir-fried just right with fresh veggies and bold seasoning.
From the Indian menu, the Paneer Butter Masala was rich, creamy, and mildly spiced — a crowd-pleaser for sure. The Veg Jalfrezi added a colorful, slightly tangy contrast and was packed with crunchy vegetables. The Roti and Garlic Naan were fresh and fluffy, especially the naan with its punch of garlic.
The highlight for us was the Veg Dum Biryani — fragrant, perfectly cooked rice with subtle layers of spice and vegetables, served with raita that complemented it well.
Overall, the food was flavorful and portions generous. Service was polite, and the ambiance felt warm and welcoming. Solid spot for both Indian and Indo-Chinese cravings!

The food was amazing as well as the atmosphere we got the patio seats. This has to be the best Indian restaurant in Kensington downtown. Was not impressed. The atmosphere is average. The service even though very friendly, took a bit long to bring food (even naans).

The food flavors were off. Lassi was a bit too sweet. Chicken was too dry – especially the grilled tandoori. Saag Paneer tasted more like spinach soup.
Also don’t understand why such place doesn’t offer papadam

We visited Eggholic after being impressed by their beautiful website. Here’s what we tried:
• Paneer Masala Grilled Sandwich
Made with three slices of bread, this sandwich had cheese and cucumber on one layer and flavorful paneer masala on the other. It was tasty and came with a good portion of chips. Overall, a solid choice.
• Tandoori Chicken Kabob with Rice
Served with a small portion of rice and five pieces of chicken. The chicken was tender but seemed reheated rather than freshly grilled. The sauce on top might appeal to some, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
• Paneer Butter Masala & Chole (Take-Out)
The curries had a nice balance of spices and good texture. However, both dishes were light on their main ingredients—paneer and chole—which was disappointing.
Final Thoughts:
While a few items were enjoyable, the overall experience didn’t live up to the expectations set by their website. A bit underwhelming.

We ordered Gotalo and Dahi Puri.

The Gotalo was fresh, tasted good, and came in a generous portion.
We paired it with chapatis, which were thin and soft, making for a satisfying meal.

However, the Dahi Puri was disappointing.
The curd seemed like it was taken directly from the freezer, making the puris difficult to eat.
If left for too long, the puris would become soggy, affecting the overall experience.

This is something the restaurant should pay more attention to.

On a positive note, the restaurant was clean, and the ambience was pleasant.

Visited Eggholic Indian Veg & Egg Street Food with high hopes, but the experience was mixed.
• The samosa chaat was actually good—flavorful and satisfying.
• The Chatpata Chicken Wrap was far too salty and ended up being inedible.
• The cheese in the Cheese Katori tasted substandard and really affected the overall dish.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance, and the service was okay. That said, they really need to work on the quality and consistency of their food to make the experience worthwhile.

We stopped here for lunch after landing at Calgary and loved everything we tried. We tried lapeti, Madagascar half fry, Chicken wrap and Mango Mastani. If you dont like spicy food, I would suggest that you for mild spice level. I found the standard hot level to be very spicy for the masala fry. My mom and I stumbled upon this gem and wow!! We’re not very familiar with Indian cuisine so we went straight to the owners recommendations (pictured tray here). She was very patient explaining the dishes to us, which we appreciated a lot. We also loved how the curries could be accommodated to different spice levels, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the funkiness of the atmosphere.

We will definitely come back and recommend Eggholic going forward!

I saw the 4.8 rating and I thought this place must be really good. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The breakfast items were just about OK in my opinion. Also, some of the items were served early and one other item was served much later…which is a huge no no in this industry. They do have a huge menu with lots of options. The place itself is very well maintained and there are some really funny dialogues written on walls…which are fun to read while you are waiting for your food.
