Last Best Brewing & Distilling

What a lucky find! We were searching for a brewery near our hotel and stumbled upon this place just 150 meters away. We stayed at the Residence Inn. It was a no-brainer, and we were absolutely thrilled with our discovery! The beer selection was fantastic; my husband was a huge fan of their Tokyo Drift, and I particularly enjoyed the Hazy IPA. The atmosphere was spot-on – a great vibe with the music at a perfect volume. The food was also delicious. We shared the shrimp linguine (a little pricey and no garlic bread, but tasted good) and the beef birria nachos, this one was generously portioned and paired really well with their green goddess dip. And the cheesecake wrapped in phyllo pastry with a berry compote? Pure genius! It's a must-try. All the servers were friendly, but Jasmine was exceptional. She was awesome and gave us some great recommendations not just for their offerings at Last Best but also for exploring the Calgary area. We loved it so much, we actually came back the following night for another round of craft beers! We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

I’ve been to Last Best many times and always have great food and service. The spicy chicken sandwich always slaps, as well as the smash burger. I got the beet salad this last time and it was pretty good, but I wish the beats were a bit more seasoned. Monday nights are Trivia and it is run very well with a gift card to Last Best for the winning team (when I was there at least). I have had Denise as a server many times, and she is always a sweet heart.

I had an okay experience at Last Best. The biggest highlight was the lively atmosphere on a Thursday night – it was bustling, which added a fun vibe. The happy hour pricing was definitely a plus and made the visit worthwhile from a value standpoint. As for the food, it was just average. Nothing really stood out or wowed me, so if you're going for the culinary experience, you might be left a bit underwhelmed. Overall, it's a solid spot for drinks and a social evening, but don’t expect anything too memorable from the menu.

Great brewery with a fantastic selection of craft beers and a well-executed food menu. I tried the lime lager, which was crisp, refreshing, and well-balanced, and paired it with a delicious pepperoni pizza that had the perfect mix of crispy crust, flavorful toppings, and melty cheese. While prices are on the higher end, the quality justifies the cost, and their happy hour deals—especially the all-day happy hour on Sundays—make it a great spot to visit. Friendly atmosphere, great drinks, and solid food make this place worth checking out!

Love this place Great service and food! Definitely recommend the gin flight they had so many interesting gins to try! Beer selection was wonderful with something for everyone!

I was there not for beer and I believe beer is great there. But food is pretty average. My shrimp pasta tasted not as I expected and really lacking some kind of good sauce to it. Halloumi fries(ordered to share) is also not what we were expected this kid of cheese doesn’t really created to be breaded….

We visited Last Best with our three-year-old son and server Bianca (we think? It’s been a week since we met her!) was so wonderful with him. She was very thoughtful - getting our little guy’s order in first and was really lovely to chat with. The food was also exceptional. We enjoyed the whole experience. Thanks for having us!
