Customer Reviews
Betty is knowledgeable, friendly and gets to the root of pelvic floor concerns. She made me feel comfortable and was very encouraging about my progress after 2 appointments. The front desk staff are super nice and efficient as well. Highly recommend this therapist and clinic for all your pelvic floor needs!
Arlene Pollock (☆ 5/5)

First time seeing Dr. Labelle. Appreciated his straight forward, common sense explanations on his approach to helping fix my pain issues and how he encourages communication on pain threshold as he’s treating the pain points. He also conducted a pretty thorough assessment on my alignment and pain areas. Felt some relief already after the first time even though it was a shorter treatment due to first time evaluation. He was on time and kept to the schedule…front desk was helpful and efficient.
J M (☆ 5/5)

Erik is exceptional at his craft of acupuncture. His technique is very unique (Japanese style), and not something I’ve found anywhere else. It’s amazing for releasing deep tissue issues. We no longer live in Calgary, but he’s the first person I see when I’m back!
Deanna Berry (☆ 5/5)

Dr. Rob is an amazingly knowledgable professional, as well as a tremendously caring and authentic individual. With his help, my hip pain that had been present twelve years, limiting certain activities and making it impossible to sleep on my right side, has resolved. I saw numerous other treatment providers who misdiagnosed the cause and couldn’t treat it successfully. He’s also helped me learn to self-manage nerve impingement and chronic tendonitis issues. As a former daily physician, I know how little most doctors are equipped to deal with musculoskeletal issues. If you want someone who can get to the root of a musculoskeletal problem and empower you in addressing it, you can count on Dr. Rob!
Magda Czegledi (☆ 5/5)

Erik is such a wonderful person and a very professional acupuncturist I have ever met. I have been suffering so much pain for quite a while and Erik knows exactly how to help me. I will absolutely recommend him to my friends who’s in need of such service.
Jackie (☆ 5/5)

My appointment was right on time! Betty was very thorough, knowledgeable and informative. I would highly recommend her if you’re experiencing any pelvic floor issues.
Sharon Lowe (☆ 5/5)

I have been going to CCSR for 16+ years since Dr. Rob was recommended to me during pregnancy as I had a lot of pain while walking. I have seen all of the Doctors and Therapists there throughout the years and they are all professional and experts in their fields – each are wonderful, and genuine people – including the front staff. The clinic is always bright and clean, and there are refreshments, and quiet waiting space for me when needed, waiting for my child’s appointments. I highly recommend this practice for any issues my friends have that require their services! Thanks for all of your help and healing through the years!

Melissa, Healer of Strength
In a clinic bright with care and skill,
Stands Melissa, steady, still.
With knowing hands and keenest eye,
She finds the pain, the knots, the why.
A shoulder stiff, a muscle tight,
A battle waged both day and night.
Yet with her touch and needling art,
She mends the aches, she heals the heart.
Precision sharp, yet soft her way,
She guides the pain to fade away.
With wisdom deep and practiced grace,
She sets you free—restores your pace.
No magic spell, no fleeting chance,
But steady work, a healing dance.
Melissa, skilled in what she does,
A gift of strength, a touch of trust.
So here’s to her, with thanks so true,
For all she’s done to pull you through.
A healer’s hands, a knowing mind—
Melissa’s care, one of a kind.

Eric L. has exceptional diagnostic skills and clinical knowledge. The ultrasound adds specificity. It’s so reassuring to have this level of medical support. Unfortunately, it’s too rare in my experience.
Janet Major (☆ 5/5)

After a serious car accident, I never thought I’d regain a basic quality of life, but thanks to Dr. Tony Giantomaso, I did. While I’ll never be the same, Dr. Giantomaso helped me get to a place of stability, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful. He truly listens, and he never gave up, trying multiple treatments until we found something that worked.
He’s not only incredibly smart and skilled, but also kind and deeply empathetic. I now see him every three months for Botox treatments to manage jaw pain and migraines, and I actually look forward to every appointment. He’s just that kind of person, genuinely wonderful and compassionate.
I honestly can’t imagine my life without his treatment, and I can never thank him enough for all he’s done. Highly recommend.
Shannon Gallagher-Burt (☆ 5/5)

Shelby is the master of fixing ALL of my body ailments! I’ve tried several physios over the years for hip and hamstring problems. No one has ever been able to figure out the cause of the pain. Shelby was the first person that took the time and looked for the root problem, which surprisingly was not the hamstring at all. Thank you, Shelby!
Kylie Stone (☆ 5/5)

Eric Lavoie is a master of foot issues!!! The team at Evidence is great! After struggling with two different doctors offices, the team finally figured out the root of the problem and have a plan to get me back to running and living life 🙂

Excellent Clinic. For my experience they were very knowledgeable of vestibular issues and helping key issues, even for lesser known problems. Shoutout to Shelley for a comprehensive and comfortable session.

I have been very happy with the Great Staff at the Drop-in Center and everyone has really cheered My heart!
Douglas Benson (☆ 1/5)

I walked in as a distraught parent, was provided no information but was allowed to leave a note.
I had never experienced anything like what I saw and bawled in their parking lot. How is this happening in a first world country. How are our children being lost in places like this. I am grateful they provide shelter and basic needs but WOW. We watched an overdose and naloxone administration in front our our eyes .. we as society need to do better .. these are parents, children, friends.. the staff we encountered were compassionate and friendly. I gave it this rating because I don’t know enough about the inside to rate it higher … bless all who work and volunteer here

Shame on the DI for not letting my sister in-law stay at the DI last week.
My sister in-law froze to death because you guys barred her from somewhere she could have been warm.
Shame on you guys.

This is the only place i was able to get immediate help with anything i’ve needed except clothing. There are some excellent people working here. If you need help just ask. That’s what this place is for. Treat people how you want to be treated. I just want to say, «Thank you,» to everyone that has helped me during one of the most difficult times of my life.

My experience was fantastic. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, and encouraging. They’re very knowledgeable and are ready to help you every step of the way. They really do care about your progress and ensuring your improvement unlike other places that I’ve been to that show no interest in your progress. They helped me tremendously and I feel much better after my accident! Thank you to everyone at CBI NE!

I’d like to share my journey with CBI Health and express my heartfelt gratitude to Ayesha and Dr. Shuchi. They supported me during a very difficult time in my life, and their guidance made a world of difference.
With their help, I became more independent in managing my injury and built the confidence to face pain head-on. Their care, expertise, and encouragement were truly life-changing.
I can’t thank them enough. They are not only highly knowledgeable in their field but also deeply compassionate.
I highly recommend them to anyone seeking treatment — you’ll be in excellent hands.

I’m so happy I came here for my work injury through WCB. The staff is super supportive and friendly. I did the 4 week back to work program and before I started I was in a lot of pain but by the last week of the program I had gained my strength and confidence to go back to work on full duties. My pain has subsided by week 2 of the program. I haven’t felt this strong in a while! I’m so happy with my results and highly recommended this program especially if you work in healthcare and injury yourself. Thank you CBI health team!
Lily Mahamed (☆ 5/5)

If I could give a negative stars I would. Dr. Brair has lied about my health to WCB and to myself. Be very careful and they will also deny u to see your records for days. Be very careful with this clinic and this Doctor. The feeling of not being safe is there at this practice. My recommendation to go to a different clinic
liz grainger (☆ 1/5)

Front staff are awesome and very polite, but trying to get into contact with this place is very difficult I’ve called a dozen times and left emails with nothing coming back. If you are not ready to leave the program don’t I did to early and Lost my job WCB closed my file and told me to deal with CBI personally and I can’t even do that so it’s been frustrating if you leave your out and good luck getting back in. I did really appreciate the time I had at the clinic but these 2 places are supposed to be there for you to get back to work. They did the complete opposite as im paying out of pocket for physio and looking for work! Thanks!
Andrew Greig (☆ 1/5)

I was here for four weeks this past April/May rehabbing a back injury. My kinesiologist Paula and my physiotherapist Joe were both amazing. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and professional. I can’t thank them enough for all they did for me!

If I could give this place zero stars I would unfortunately I had to give it one star I have left several messages for Craig the intake guy, and he has not returned my phone call regarding someone went through their program and has relapsed . Instead of teaching these men how to find God and Psalms from the Bible, teaching them to find themselves and maybe how to do a job interview and how to do a résumé so they can make it out in the real world
Mishelle Mares (☆ 1/5)

The place is just a money grab it used to be about recovery now it’s only about lining the employees pockets out of all the money that place brings in and donations the clients don’t even get decent meals it’s more of a homeless shelter just has worse food but at least the employees are payed more then what what I think they earn well most of them there is a couple case managers and counsellors that really care but other then that it’s just a pay cheque for everyone else. I will miss ho and baked potato night how wholesome and filling

This place offers connection and community for men and women that want help to recover from addiction. I credit them with ultimately saving my life and then really help me to start living my best life. The staff are amazing and offer top notch kind of help in regards to recovery and living well. I love this place so much and would recommend it to absolutely anybody who wants help on their road to living a purpose driven, meaningful life, free from the chains of addiction.

I cannot recommend Dr. David Labchuk highly enough! I was dealing with chronic foot pain so severe that I was seriously contemplating whether amputation might offer me a better quality of life. On top of that, an old shoulder injury had left me with limited range of motion, something I had resigned myself to living with forever.
From the moment I started seeing Dr. Labchuk, he truly listened to my concerns and went straight to the root cause of my issues. Not only did he treat my foot pain, but he also discovered an unresolved hip injury that was affecting my foot. The result? My foot pain is now completely gone, and I have regained mobility in my shoulder that I thought I would never have again.
I had seen other specialists in the past, but they only offered quick fixes like expensive insoles that didn’t work. Dr. Labchuk’s approach was different – he was thorough, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in my well-being. And he has a great sense of humor, which made the whole experience even better.
I am so grateful to a friend who referred me to Dr. Labchuk, and I’ve since referred others to him as well. He is the real deal – someone who builds trust and truly wants to help people feel better.
Danila Bertoli (☆ 5/5)

Dr. Labchuk is amazing! No judgement, no nonsense, great results. Truly cares about each patient and is focused on tailored solutions for each person. Their team in general is professional, friendly and very supportive!
I appreciate they squeezed me in last minute on a Friday to help with a painful neck and went above and beyond to make sure I could recover quickly and safely.
Amelianna Ross (☆ 5/5)

Dr Labchuk is amazing. We’ve been to see so many different doctors over the years of my daughter’s playing waterpolo, none have ever come close to Dr L. My girls are high performance athletes and aches, pains and strains are just part of gig. Dr L is all but amazing!! They ALWAYS walk out of his office feeling 100. He takes time to get to the root of what is going on, he is invested in their recovery and if can’t fix it, he will find someone who can! Highly, highly, highly recommend.
Jody Kyfiuk (☆ 5/5)

Highly recommend! I hate Dr’s and avoid them but my neck was all twisted up and the pain just wouldn’t go away. I went in and Dr Labchuk did his thing and within 48 hours I was back to 100%. Amazing!
Darren Kyfiuk (☆ 5/5)

Been going to Michelle for massage for over a year now and cannot recommend her enough.
Evelyn-Marie Long (☆ 5/5)

Been going for massage from Debbie since late 2023. Deep Tissue is what I enjoy and what my aches and pains need. She’s been able to heal a few of my injuries and get me back on track for the golf season. It’s been a couple years so trying to find a good deep tissue massage and Debbie is highly recommended
Herman Ma (☆ 5/5)

Attended a few sessions with Dr. L, He was amazing!! Greatly decreased my pain and I will definitely be back to see him if my pain flares up again.
I recommend this location! Also Jackie the receptionist was great at booking my appointments according to my availability.

I experienced a severe concussion and whiplash in the field. I came from Red Deer to CBI and was running 15 minutes late due to lack of experience of driving in Calgary. The receptionist Danielle was amazing and made sure I was able to get the care I needed today. Dr Carrey was absolutely amazing coming up with solutions to reduce my intense pain and poor quality sleep while reducing my prescription medications. She was also able to give insight on how to have better lifestyle habits. Thank you so much CBI health for the excellent care I have received!
Spencer Malone (☆ 5/5)

The only reason I am giving one star is because it won’t let me write a review with no stars. CBI claims to have a very high success rate with helping people with concussions. Having finally (4 months later) received my discharge papers I finally know why. According to my doctor, and other health care professionals CBI made my concussion symptoms last far longer and made them far worse than they should have ever been. They also failed to report many of my symptoms to other health care professionals and WCB to ensure their program still had its success rate. I had to teach 2 physios there how to properly traction a neck, as well as the pressure points needed to aid a headache, and these are supposedly concussion specialists.
If you value your brain health, you will avoid them completely. Find somewhere else, find anywhere else, or do it yourself, and you will see better and safer results.
The only good thing I can say about them is the receptionist staff are lovely, and do their best to help when they can.

Chapter is so wonderful and pat is such a communicator! Love the staff and cbi helped me walk again after my brain injury and accident. Thank you Cbi. LOVE , LIVE ,HEAL,,,Cbi Best of the best.
Tim Johnson (☆ 5/5)

I attended this program after having 3 concussions and experiencing quite severe brain injury symptoms. I tried this program for 3 weeks and left MUCH worse than I came.
To start with the positive, everyone I met here was pleasant and kind. I don’t think anyone working here means any harm. However, this program as a whole is far too intense.
Nothing in this program is catered to people experiencing brain injuries. From the florescent overhead lights, to the radio constantly playing, all the way down to the actual tasks they have you doing, it is a concussed persons nightmare.
The worst portion was a daily computer test that took nearly an hour. I would leave this dazed, confused, and in pain. At home I was hardly using even my phone as it would bring on symptoms.
I can see this program being helpful if you are 95% healed and just need that final push to get back to work, but as for myself that was definitely not the case. I would not recommend this program.
Sophie Hilsabeck (☆ 2/5)

Today was my mental and physical assessments, so my first time at the clinic. I came here from Edmonton and will be moving here for the entirety of my program.
Every single person I came into contact with was absolutely amazing. What a positive and helpful group of people! Can’t wait to start my journey to healing here!

Great clinic with lots of nice staff. I’ve been seen by a number of the doctors here over the past few years, and each has been very professional. This practice starts where many others end; addiction, and gender affirming care are a decent chunk of the patient population. I appreciate this practice for the niche it fills.
Plus, the pharmacy downstairs is very convenient.

Dr. Simran Khosa has been my family doctor for almost 2 years and has treated me and my family so well, she is very educated and supportive. Smart Clinic is a very safe and clean environment and I love how they have the pharmacy attached downstairs. I am very appreciative for everything her and the team have done for my family

Been waiting for weeks for my prescriptions to be renewed as my antidepressants are supposed to be refillable. I can’t leave my house anymore since not being on them and whenever I call nobody answers the phone. My mental health is getting g worse day by day. I was also waiting on a referral for a psychiatrist. And this was months ago. Due to certain circumstances I am unable to call anymore as since being off my meds I lost my job and ohines cut off. Everything’s falling apart because the meds I needed to be a normal functioning part of society have been cut off. It would be nice if you answered and or returned calls and emails.

This clinic is among the top in the city. I happened to be an intern under the mentorship of Amandeep at this clinic, and I must emphasize that she is exceptional.
Her remarkable capacity to assign tasks and offer assistance and direction is truly praiseworthy.
Grateful for everything, Aman.

Abandoned my cousin. Unless you live nearby, not to be trusted. Cousin found out a strict 3 month phone appointment routine was expected but never communicated to her. Was left without meds and told to find some walkin clinic to help her until she makes an in person appointment. Over 3 hour journey, not something you can just hop into the car and drive to know a whim. Unless you live in Calgary don’t trust them to support your Healthcare.

I am new to Calgary. I have been treated awsome there and recommend this location to anyone looking for a doctor. I won’t go to another place unless ofcourse It is an emergency or in another city.
Tobias Luedee (☆ 5/5)

Despite me being transparent about my addictive past, I was offered high potency stimulants with high potential for abuse. When I began to have a problem with these, my prescription dose was increased. I was offered opiates as well. This is an ‘addiction clinic’. I was transparent about my struggles, yet not once was I offered any treatment options for my addictions nor for my suffering mental health. Stay the F away from this place, unless of course you’re looking to score. The staff and doctors here are deplorable.

I loved this place , all the staff. This was the most spiritual experience . Working the 12 steps and learning about such a beautiful culture . The food was amazing and the routine I learned in this facility really helped me maintain one at home . being a client who has graduated the 3 month program I can say sunrise healing lodge was the start of my healing and I think of that place often as it has a piece of my heart . I am in recovery still and have reached all my goals I thought never possible . The practice of Smudging and ceremonial smudges solidified my relationship with my high power .

Found myself while there. But no thanks to their psychotic staff member who was assigned my counselor.
They hire insane control freaks who believe that AA is the only way out.
I was even assigned a counselor who tried to steal from me and told me I’d face punishment if I took an hr to grieve after hearing my best friend passed. She said she wanted ppl to get better, yet she ran around looking for reasons to throw people out.
The place was safe but provided no comfort.
While there, I did their AA bullshit. But the book «In the realm of Hungry Ghosts» by Dr. Gabor Mate really opened my eyes as to why I was living that way. Alot more help than «praying to god.»
Sunrise only provided me a dry «yet insane» place to gather myself.
I’d give minus stars if I could.

I am a 3x Sunrise graduate. A l/t program Alumni and i can say they provide excellent support and teach you alot in a short amount of time. They give you the tools, you have apply, and continue your journey after you leave. They brought me out of the darkness, i had to keep walking towards the light.

Staff was very kind and helpful. However strictly abstinence based so because I’m taking Naltroazone they weren’t able to except me into their program. Understandable, but they were quick to point me in the direction of other programs that would except me while taking this medication. Thank you for your help!
Misty Roth (☆ 3/5)

Very disappointed and outraged with my experience at sunrise staff let co-clients go through my belongings and stole items when discharge, co-clients as well as staff said false accusations for own benefit and I was not able to tell my side of truth or defend myself what so ever, I will be writing a report to sunrise complaint department and talking with my lawyer about the horible service I received,I definitely do not recommend this treatment center because of Lies and theft.

Customer Reviews
I was a patient at CBI Health’s Trauma Program (TPI) at the Calgary Central location, and I feel ethically compelled to share my experience, which has left me deeply harmed and retraumatized.
Despite entering the program after 4 long months without trauma treatment by WCB,
—after enduring a traumatic injury and the prolonged institutional neglect that followed by my employer—I was abruptly discharged just four weeks into a medically recommended 12-week program. The discharge was both premature and directly contradicted the assurances I received from the program’s site manager, Diana, less than 24 hours earlier. With genuine compassion, the manager assured me that discharge was not being considered and that the team would support me through this challenging time. However, she was unaware that the treatment team had already made up their minds about discharging me, a decision that was evident from their previous failed attempt to do so in a similar, deceptive manner just a week earlier.
Diana, the lovely soul she is, who wouldn’t have promised if she knew—assured me that continued treatment and support would be provided to get me back on my feet, only for me to attend a meeting the next morning and be blindsided again, by a another discharge decision I had no part in.
My psychologist misleadingly cited «attendance issues» as the team’s justification. I attended virtually with prior approval during illness and periods of extreme hardship—including during an eviction threat and food insecurity—that I had openly disclosed and were acknowledged by staff. There were no written warnings, and no policy communicated stating that virtual attendance would be deemed inadequate retroactively.
Despite the cruel and misleading accusation of ‘non-participation,’ I was actively engaging in sessions to the best of my ability, even as I struggled with severe trauma symptoms and an aggravated pre-existing disability—one that remained largely unaccommodated outside of Kinesiology. The treatment team was fully aware of these challenges.
Even more disturbing is how my trauma symptoms were weaponized against me. I experienced a trauma response the day before my discharge. Instead of receiving appropriate crisis intervention my occupational therapist informed me that failing to attend the scheduled session at that time would negatively impact my WCB claim.
24 hours later, under the claim that I had «recovered enough to work», I was discharged—a decision completely disconnected from my actual state according to my medical assessments. No medical professional should confuse a trauma response with recovery. When I challenged their perspective on my recovery, they shifted the focus back to alleged attendance issues, directly contradicting their claims of my recovery. This created a paradoxical justification for what was effectively a disguised discharge.
This experience has significantly set back my recovery. I was left without care, despite having a significant amount of medical evidence from multiple doctors recommending continued trauma-focused treatment. Instead, CBI Health was more concerned with meeting administrative expectations than patient outcomes. I now believe my discharge was motivated by system-level expedience, not medical reasoning.
Had they chosen to engage with me and genuinely understand my situation, rather than focussing their efforts on altering their narrative to conform to systemic pressures, I believe this could have been a truly positive and meaningful experience.
If you or a loved one are referred to this clinic for trauma, I strongly advise caution before trusting CBI Health’s Central location. My experience was not only profoundly disturbing—it was harmful. No survivor should be retraumatized by the very system meant to help them heal.
If CBI Health is committed to making amends, I believe everyone deserves a second chance. However, this requires a clean slate, free from the influence of administrative adjudicators whose decisions may be driven by factors other than genuine care for those in need.

I worked with a team of three – Kin, physio, and OT (Ireland, Dalia, and Jenna) and each of them was incredible to work with. All three of them are super stars! They were all kind and supportive of my recovery journey. Always accommodating and quick to help as needed. The front desk staff is also really helpful if you need to switch your appointments or anything. I will be sad to be leaving here but received top notch care while I was here!!! (especially with the dream team I had)

The program that Taura gave me here helped a lot to strengthen my elbow. Along the way, we discuss things that are happening with me and my work, Taura taught me things to do and how to handle things at work and with my superiors at work. Vidhi was a very good physiotherapist. She knows where to work on to make my muscles relax. Thanks to both of you. God bless you and strengthen you always in helping people get through their pain.❤️

I, wholeheartedly recommend Emily as an excellent therapist and a carying soul.
Thank you, Emily!

These often include physical therapy to restore movement and function, occupational therapy to help with daily living skills, speech therapy to address communication difficulties, and cognitive therapy to improve memory and thinking abilities. Some centers also provide psychological counseling and support groups.
What conditions are commonly treated at rehabilitation centers?

They also assist individuals with chronic pain management, neurological disorders, and conditions requiring long-term recovery and adaptive strategies.
How do I choose a rehabilitation center that’s right for me or my loved one?
Selecting the appropriate rehabilitation center requires careful consideration. Look for centers with specialized programs that align with the specific needs. Check for accreditation, staff qualifications, and patient testimonials. Consider the location, cost, and insurance coverage. Scheduling consultations is crucial.
What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation?
Inpatient rehabilitation involves a residential stay at the center, providing intensive therapy and 24/7 care. Outpatient rehabilitation allows individuals to live at home while attending therapy sessions on a scheduled basis. The choice depends on the severity of the condition, level of independence, and caregiver availability.
What qualifications and experience should rehabilitation therapists have?
Rehabilitation therapists typically hold advanced degrees and licenses in their respective fields, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology. Look for therapists with specialized certifications and experience treating the specific condition or injury. Experience with pediatric or geriatric populations might also be valuable depending on the patient’s needs.
How long does rehabilitation typically last?
The duration of rehabilitation varies significantly depending on the individual’s condition and progress. It can range from a few weeks to several months or even longer for complex cases. Consistent effort and adherence to the treatment plan are essential for achieving optimal outcomes. Regular assessments by therapists will help determine the necessary length of treatment.
What is the role of family and caregivers during rehabilitation?
The involvement of family and caregivers is extremely important for successful rehabilitation. They can provide emotional support, assist with daily tasks, and reinforce therapy exercises at home. Understanding the treatment plan and actively participating in the recovery process contribute to a more positive and effective rehabilitation journey. Open communication with the rehabilitation team is vital.
How do I understand the cost of rehabilitation services?
The cost of rehabilitation can be complex and depends on factors such as the type of services, the duration of treatment, and the facility. It’s important to inquire about fees upfront and understand what is included. Check with your insurance provider to determine coverage and explore potential financial assistance programs if needed.
What happens if I don’t see progress during rehabilitation?
If progress is not apparent, open communication with the rehabilitation team is crucial. Therapists can re-evaluate the treatment plan, adjust exercises, and explore alternative strategies. Plateaus in recovery are not uncommon, and persistent effort and modifications to the program can often lead to renewed progress. Regular assessments are vital for adjustments.
Are rehabilitation centers accessible to individuals with disabilities?
Reputable rehabilitation centers prioritize accessibility for individuals with disabilities. They should have ramps, elevators, accessible restrooms, and other features to accommodate diverse needs. Inquire about accessibility features during the initial consultation to ensure a comfortable and inclusive environment. They should be compliant with accessibility standards.
