I was recently in the market for a milestone watch. A number of my friends suggested I make an appointment with Seth, who in recent years, has been instrumental in helping them acquire the watches they have wanted. I met with Seth sometime back. From the first handshake, he established a very welcoming atmosphere to our appointment. What followed was a very engaging conversation. Seth, very attentively, not only listened to what I was looking for in a milestone watch, he also took the time to listen to the story I wanted the watch to tell. We discussed the intricacies of a number of watches. He is very well versed in the mechanical aspects of watches, their rich histories and was able to almost personify the watches. I left my appointment very satisfied knowing that I felt heard - more importantly, he helped me narrow down my search to two watches that fully aligned with what I was looking for. Seth assured me that he would look into some of the questions I posed about some of the watches and that he would get back to me shortly thereafter. Some time later, I received a call from Seth - a call that I was elated to get. He found what I was looking for. When I went into the store to pick up my watch. Seth took a great deal of time to chat further about the watch, its history, how it aligned with the story I wanted it to tell and make sure it fit perfectly. I am sincerely thankful to Seth for making all of this possible. He is just as much of a part of the story I want the watch to tell as everything else that has led up to the watch I have being the milestone watch I want it to be.

**Update** I never did receive the call from here. Not sure if it was on me for not following up enough or just the lack of spend history. That said I wanted to provide an update as I did eventually get my watch from another AD. They too treated me with respect and kindness even though my purchase history was non existent. For reference it took 3 months at the new AD to find me my watch. After receiving a very prompt reply from Sylvester this morning to my inquiry about purchasing my first Rolex, I booked an appointment for this afternoon to sit down and discuss availability and models. Sylvester was incredibly accommodating and super knowledgeable about each of the watches we selected. He took me through all of their specs and even their history which was a very cool experience all on its own. As many of you probably know, there is a waitlist to purchase a Rolex. This has deterred me in the past from actually visiting an AD. However despite not having any purchase history with J Vair, I was still treated with the utmost respect and kindness. Sylvester didn't try to push other watches on to me and was nothing but professional the entire time we sat together. I have put my name in for consideration to get one of the models I was interested in. I'll be sure to update this review when I get the call. All of that being said, they have a great selection of watches which are in stock. If you are in the market for a new time piece, I cannot recommend these guys enough. They carry everything from G shocks to Grand Seikos and several in between (and even above). They also carry Sinn and Nomos which I haven't seen much of anywhere else in Calgary.

What a pleasurable experience. I purchased a special watch from Paul at J Vair and I couldn’t have asked for a more knowledgeable and customer focused experience and this was not the first luxury watch I have purchased. From the first day I went into the store to the day I made the purchase they have been a class act. I would highly recommend them and will definitely be back in the coming months and years. This is my go to place now.

I went to the store for the first time yesterday and all the people there are so welcoming and friendly. Big thanks to them and to Paul who made me feel comfortable and felt like I know him for a very long time. He's so nice and knowledgeable with watches/Rolex. He showed me the difference between datejust 36 and 41 and now I am 100% decided to go and wait for the 36mm and GMT Master II. Thank you so much.

Phoned up to this business in January. Spoke to Ed who invited me in for coffee to look at some options. My manager bought two watches off them so I felt good coming in. Ed was professional and got me my Rolex date just 41 in gold with diamonds in just over 5 months. He is always willing to take my calls and help me out! Thanks Ed I’ll be back in 2 years for the Bruce Wayne. 🙂 Only downside is compared to Birks they let you put whole purchase on credit card with no fee.
