If you’re visiting the area, I highly recommend checking out Chippy Dude!
They specialize in fish and chips, and honestly, it was the best I’ve ever had.
Everything was incredibly fresh, crispy, and absolutely perfect I’ve never had fish and chips like this before.
One of the best parts is that instead of the usual fries, you can choose your own side.
I chose the sweet potato croquette, and it was just perfect.
Make sure to try the coleslaw too it’s the freshest and most flavorful I’ve ever tasted.
Also, don’t miss out on their signature shrimp burger!
The owner recommended it, and I’m so glad I tried it the patty is packed with whole, juicy shrimp.
If you’re anywhere nearby, this place is a must visit!

Visiting the Calgary Farmers’ Market on a sunny Saturday in May was the perfect way to kick off summer! The place was buzzing with energy—fresh fruits, vibrant vegetables, quality meats, handcrafted goods, and so many delicious food options. I loved the variety and the local feel of it all. Whether you’re shopping for your kitchen or just out to enjoy a relaxed weekend stroll with good eats, this market has something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Calgary!
Olo Oya (☆ 5/5)

farmers market south. The food selection there is absolutely awesome – definitely worth stopping in and filling up on some goodies. Trust me, the outside may not look like much, but the quality of products inside is top-notch. Plus, you’ll be pleased to know that the toilet facilities are clean and there’s free parking available.
John Keates (☆ 5/5)

We checked out the Calgary Farmer’s market South and had a great afternoon there. It’s not as big as the west market, but it has lots of great produce and food to enjoy from many different nationalities. Take a stroll around first before you decided what to buy. There are tasty looking desserts as well.
I had the sumo ramen at Oishidesu Ramen Shack. It was delicious, hot, and rich, with tasty chicken, pork, beef and half a poached egg. The broth was great and you can choose the level of heat. I also had the Takoyaki which were excellent as well.
My wife had the cod burger and potato croquet’s at Chippy Dude. It was huge, hot and crunchy and had nice crispy lettuce. The croquettes were tasty too. All in all, a great market with excellent food, lots of butchers, bakers and many other vendors from spices to alcohol.
Kevin Jones (☆ 5/5)

I love this Market! So many great vendors and lots of free parking. Yum Bakery is what drew me here, and I was delighted to discover there is a location of Bernard Callebaut’s Master Chocolat as well as an Analog Coffee.

很特別的在地菜市場!(內含各國料理小吃、價格也比downtown 便宜很多)

A good market with lots of vendors. Nothing too special, but a pleasant way to spend some time. Worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

Customer Reviews
In the past it was a truly fascinating place for collectibles, food and interesting finds. Nowadays it’s mostly just a food market which is fine. Many shops are empty recently and the prices at most places are fairly high which I guess is somewhat expected.
Few really good spots like Burwood or one where various toys are sold and some others along the way. It’s just not what it was in the 2000’s or 2010’s. It evolved into mostly a produce spot I guess.
Jason Stettner (☆ 3/5)

Very interesting place packed full of vendors.
Loads of tiny booths in the back with a wide variety of products.
The produce booths all seem to carry the same things, but there are lots of them and decent quality.
There is plenty of parking, and the public is well behaved. (We didn’t have a bunch of crazy drivers trying for the same place)
It was fun to go check out.
J Roberts (☆ 4/5)

Decent little market with some food vendors, toy and anime vendors, and some other stuff. Bit of a flea market, much different feel than Calgary west farmers market.
Marta Borowska (☆ 4/5)

I LOVE the food court . Wow! There are so many choices. i don’t know where to start !! I walked around in circles so many times, trying to decide what I wanted for a snack. Everything looked so good, hot dogs to montreal bagels , perogies . Caribbean foods , Indian foods. Baked goods galore.
Local feel.. everyone seems to know each other . The only thing I don’t like is how crowded this place is.
I was a bit overwhelmed and uncomfortable. Lay out is very confusing but fun for that market feel!
You can buy lots of used stuff here or old vintage in the package still , collector items, ranging from card games of all sorts , hotwheels, horror figures, and hockey stuff.
I saw some aliexpress stuff for sale in some shops that was overpriced .
Overall Awesome place . Need more of these in the city .
Great place if you’re from out east and crave the old time feel .

Yusuke (☆ 5/5)

Best farmers market in the city! Once Summer is fully here, it will be alive with produce vendors!!
Lisa Merrett (☆ 5/5)

Amazing place to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables at very fair prices. Generally better pricing than most retail stores. Not to mention the small little knick knack shops that sell a variety of things from books, movies, jewelry, clothing, accessories, candy, dog treats, cafes and many more fun things. Worth checking out for sure!

Craft is a great spot with really tasty cocktails! The food can be a bit spicy, but it’s full of flavor. It’s the perfect place for a Friday night out — fun atmosphere, good music, and great service. We keep coming back and it never disappoints
Yuliia D (☆ 5/5)

I enjoyed the lively atmosphere—it’s a great spot if you’re looking for a fun vibe. The food was good and came out quickly. Drinks were just okay—I’d recommend sticking with beer over cocktails. Overall, a solid place to hang out with friends.
Linda Ho (☆ 4/5)

Had dinner at Craft Beer Market in downtown Calgary and really enjoyed it! The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful with the perfect crunch, and the Cajun shrimp Alfredo was rich, creamy, and packed with just the right amount of kick — super tasty and filling.
It’s a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and portion sizes made it worth it. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and overall a solid dining experience. Would definitely come back!
Carter Chattargoon (☆ 4/5)

Fun place to be with really friendly staff and fantastic drinks and food. Happy hour is insane! Very very nice way to spend the afternoon. Thanks to Ben and Kaelin!
Darsha D (☆ 5/5)

Second time here and first time I experienced the food not to be so great. Ordered the prosciutto pizza and it was VERY salty and I love salt so that being said means it was extremely salty. My husbands fries were quite dry. Otherwise atmosphere was great, beer was great. I would definitely come back and try something else as my first experience was great.
Megan Webb (☆ 4/5)

Sunday All-Day Happy Hour! Braving the -20°C cold, I headed out with friends in the afternoon for a drink. The atmosphere was really cozy, and we had two rounds of drinks. They offered a great selection of craft beers, paired with some snacks, which were all delicious. Many people were watching the football game, creating a lively vibe. Most importantly, it was a great spot for hanging out with friends.

Customer Reviews
Calgery Farm Market was pretty decent overall. They had a good selection of fresh fruits and local produce. There are also quite a few restaurants and food options nearby, which makes it a nice spot for a casual visit. It’s located about half an hour outside the city, so it’s not the most convenient unless you’re already in the area. If you’re a visitor, having a car is definitely necessary. The place was clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff. Not a must-see, but worth checking out if you’re passing through.
Eva Zia (☆ 4/5)

It is my first time to here. The indoor farmer market is very nice and good size, there are many tables to sit after you but something to eat. My favorite is Yum cakes, the macaroons are sweet and great! I also like the bagels shop. They can get fresh veggies and fruits, but the prices are not cheap. the quality of food is good. It is also a nice place to take kids for browsing together.the parking lot is big and free, spend a half day to visit here when the weather is bad outside.
Joy Liu (☆ 4/5)

I love this market, there’s Vegan foods and a Vegan bakery, they taste amazing. Petty I don’t live in Calgary, I even brought some Vegan croissants back to Sydney Australia with me. Can’t wait to visit again
Carole LoVegan Li Ⓥ (☆ 5/5)

Awesome indoor farmers market with some vegan spots like Healthy Choices and donuts at Phil & Sebastian. There is a kids indoor play area as well which is great for toddlers. There are some rules about entry but it’s free to enter. It can get quite busy.
Lots of fresh vegetables, some booths with honey, some rock vendors, there is a place that can make vegan cakes, and there is usually someone playing live music in the food court seating area.
Marta Borowska (☆ 5/5)

One of the best farmers market in Calgary ,with fresh produce (veggies, fruits, eggs, meat, fish, and cheese) and baked goods/pastries (croissants, loads of bread, cookies, brownies as well .
They usually also have music and entertainment to keep kids and parents entertained.
Too many highlights to name but I have enjoyed amazing Turkish , Italian food, Momo’s, fresh fruit juice, indian food. Highly recommended this place
Faisal Brone (☆ 5/5)

If you can’t decide what to eat or have a group with multiple needs, definitely visit here. So many food stalls and ample place to sit and eat. Local vendors and small franchises prepping fresh food in front of you. Great selection of grocery items as well. Prices might be a bit high, but come for the experience
Nipun Heendeni (☆ 5/5)

UPDATE: With the completion of the ring road, coming here is even easier!
We have been to the Calgary Farmer’s Market West a few times, including the opening day.
First off, the parking lot fills quick, but there’s a good enough turnover.
Inside is much more spacious and open than the original market. There is a nice play area for kids along with a center slate of seating for dining. The one side is mostly made out of food vendors with more options along the way. The other side has produced various meat vendors.
This location is much closer to use and opens later (7 p.m.), so popping in for dinner is a great option.

High-end products and prices.
The stuff is always very helpful and friendly!
Their bakery goods are excellent.
You can find a wide selection of organic, natural alternatives for your daily needs.
It’s downstairs from my building, so it’s very convenient to access it.
Sunterra Market has a section where you can come in and eat & drink, which is cool if you’re on the go and want something quick, healthy and good.
Diana Izabela Ilie (☆ 5/5)

Huge fan of the salads at Sunterra. I know a Ceasar salad is so simple to make but the fresh greens, chunks of chicken and the home made dressing really does it for me. The salads are a little expensive compared to other grocer’s but it’s worth the price.
Linda Ho (☆ 5/5)

Perhaps one of the best supermarkets I have ever visited. Great selection of produce and the fresh fruit, vegetables etc all looked really fresh and appetising.
It reminded me of the type of food hall you find in a high class department store (like Harrods or Fortnum and Mason in the UK) without the excessive price tag to match.
Susan C (☆ 5/5)

There has been no milk in the dairy section for days because they screwed up and forgot to order it!
Rustam Rakhmangulov (☆ 1/5)

Awesome selection, very cool/comfortable atmosphere, great staff and great food. Would recommend and will definitely be back, there is a deli, bakery and buffet style bar as well.
TERP & MESC (☆ 5/5)

They let crazy people into the washroom. The washroom at this place is close to another entrance so anyone off the street can walk in. For a grocery store that is supposed to be upscale I expect a clean and safe place. The food was also bad. If I pay $30 for a bad meal I at least expect to be able to use the washroom. If you want to go to a cafe or get food you’re better off choosing anywhere else.
Austin K (☆ 1/5)

Fairly nice grocery store. There limited parking underground parking dedicated for sunterra market. You would need to register the license plate at the parking meter. The market have hot, cold and bakeries items. Very convenient. The hot selection looks good and appetizing. The bakery have pie to cake. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

Loved the vibe of this place – perfect to come with a group of friends so that you can each get exactly what you want!

Hungry Travelers Paradise. When you don’t know what you want this is the place to go! Every place had unique selections to cover any craving.
We loved the food court style. We ended up with K-town Fried Chicken and it was well worth the wait. They gave us a little buzzer so we could sit while they prepared fresh to order.
Samantha McConnell (☆ 5/5)

I ate at the Pure Vietnamese place, and it was good but a little bit expensive, decent Pho and great customer service despite them not having the dishes we ordered initially and having to change options…we ordered 2 Phos, pork spring rolls (3), a water and a can of ginger ale
Maria Villarroel (☆ 5/5)

Came here for dinner with my family on a Saturday evening. It was pretty busy but we managed to find some tables for ourselves. We really enjoyed the variety of foods that we ordered! Everything we got was delicious and had great quality!
Staff were pretty friendly and the environment was clean and well-kept. Would definitely come back here!
Kris C A (☆ 5/5)

It’s nice that most major cities we’ve visited now have these types of food halls. There’s something for everyone to eat, and there’s alcohol and coffee too. We tried the pizza, pasta, Indian food, and Korean fried chicken, and all were really good.
The space isn’t too big, so not a huge selection, but enough to give options. There’s also a good amount of seating, with one part acting as an indoor-outdoor space, which was really nice on a summer day. They also have a big screen, which was playing sports today.
The food is not cheap, but everything was done well, and the pricing is to be expected with these kinds of food halls.
Parking was free today because it was Sunday, and it wasn’t too hard to find a spot in front.
April Chan-Tsui (☆ 5/5)

Cool concept! Modern style food court with a variety of stalls to try. Pizza, Korean fried chicken, tacos, noodle bar.. and so much more. Definitely on the cool and hipster side of things, which is also reflected in the prices. Though that’s not to say that the food isn’t good. But it’s simply good and not extraordinary. Awesome place to come with friends!

Sunterra Market truly elevates the grocery shopping experience. The emphasis on local products and house-made items is readily apparent, leading to a noticeably higher quality selection than standard supermarkets. The staff consistently demonstrate a level of attentiveness and helpfulness that is genuinely appreciated; they are focused on the customer’s needs, making the whole process more enjoyable and convenient.
While the prices may reflect the premium quality, the overall value is undeniable. The store fosters a feeling of well-being and convenience with its attentive service. It’s the kind of place where a simple errand feels like a pleasant outing, and offers a refreshing alternative to the typical, impersonal grocery run. A place focused on customer service.

Sunterra offers one of the most enjoyable grocery shopping experiences you’ll ever have. The staff are incredibly attentive. Always ready to help, even walking your bags to the car without hesitation. The store features a thoughtfully curated selection of local products, and their house-made items are consistently delicious. While the prices are a bit higher than your typical grocery store, the exceptional quality and service more than justify it. It’s a truly elevated shopping experience!
May Bunn (☆ 5/5)

I do not write reviews often. I have been coming here for the past year and this is the best grocery store by far. Bakery selections are fresh and lots of healthy fresh ready cooked meals or produces. Today I bought two big bags of groceries and the cashier offered to carry my groceries to my car which I kindly declined but another store associate named Mellisa took my bags right away and insisted even though I told them I parked far from the store. The customer service is up top. No self checkout counters. This is something simply nice that adds a personal touch and to the overall shopping experience from other big grocery chains in which, you’re not stressed doing your own self-checkout and scrambling packing your groceries. Sunterra, please don’t change this 🙂
Jia Wei Yeo (☆ 5/5)

Love this store! Very high quality, in store-made bakery and ready made meal products.
Yes, it is more expensive than big grocery chains but the quality, freshness and unique selections are well worth the money.
You get what you pay for is so true, I hope they survive their HQ financial issues!
Kate Zarins (☆ 5/5)

This review is for the restaurant… The service is excellent with all of the friendly staff doing their best to make your visit enjoyable. Prices are reasonable, and the quality of food never disappoints. I typically have breakfast there and the porridge and breakfast sandwiches are about the best bargain for quality eats in Calgary. Coffee is good and they don’t cheap out on the condiments and even offer flavoured ice water. There’s also no pressure to leave a giant tip before you even get your food and they’re not offended if you substitute a tomato etc on a sandwich like some places. As well, you can buy food from the bakery, etc., and just bring it to the table and eat it. I highly recommend the cheese croissants, fresh daily and they are probably as good as you can buy anywhere in the city. Whoever is managing the restaurant component of this business is doing a great job. Keep it up!
hilda duffield (☆ 5/5)

I used to shop here and always enjoyed the cupcakes and fresh pressed juice. but unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill recently. I had a cupcake on Sunday gave me diarrhea — not just once, but again when I tried it the next day to be sure. Also the grapefruit juice had a strange smell and off taste.
This was disappointing, especially since I used to really like this place. I don’t think I’ll be shop here again, this store really needs to look into their food safety and quality control.
Nat (☆ 1/5)

absolutely love this store! It’s amazing to see a business that genuinely supports Canadian-made products. The quality and craftsmanship of the items here are top-notch, and it feels great to support local businesses and artisans. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help. Whether you’re looking for everyday essentials or unique gifts, this is the perfect place to shop while contributing to the local economy. Highly recommend to anyone who values quality and wants to support Canadian-made products!

Great little neighborhood market. I like to get produce, meat, cheese, and other treats here. They also have a coffee bar and pastries and a good selection of ready to eat items. Pantry items can be quite pricey but nice to have available in a pinch.

Absolutely love this market, so many gems in this small store. They have some amazing pre made food, recently tried these cinnamon buns and they are absolutely fantastic. I hope they become a permanent item here!

Bridgeland’s Best Kept Secret!
This was my second visit to this charming little store. I returned because I was attracted to this place the first time I came here. The management is super friendly and they keep their store clean, well organized and stocked with all sorts of interesting and tasty goods.
On this visit, I purchased two packages of their home made cookies which are the absolute greatest. Lip smacking good.
Despite their steep prices, I will return here often.
Highly Recommended!!!

Just all around praise for Blooms by Bridgeland! I placed an order for a Monday delivery on a Friday, received a call around noon Monday to advise on delivery time which was appreciated. Arrangement was absolutely beautiful and vase is a keeper. Thank you!

Great family run market! The coffee is always delicious and there is a broad selection of fresh grocery items and premade meals, amongst the great selection.
Jonathan Hartney (☆ 5/5)

Great place if you need to buy a couple things, go here for coffee instead of Starbucks! Very friendly staff who will take the time to chat if they are not busy. It is more expensive than your normal grocery store but quality products and great for smaller trips. They also have muffins and other baked goods!

I absolutely love this market and go out of my way to get here. DJ’s specializes in local growers and no pesticides. Exactly what I’m looking for for my family.
I love the prices too. Way better than the grocery store.
Also, it’s family run – Mychele and her husband (and daughters when out of school) are the real gems! So friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this market!
Coach Colette (☆ 5/5)

Outstanding quality fresh fruit and veggies – locally sourced by Canadian producers. This is not a slogan but a reality. DJ’s is so much better than trucked and warehouse stored product found at Costco or big grocers. The crew is always friendly and happy to answer questions. We are weekly customers who feel like family.

A true community Association, various programs for children, seniors and families. They have a great selection of vendors for their Farmers Market. It gets even better. The summer.
This place makes you feel like a community, it’s welcoming, the staff care, and it’s nice to meet the people that come out to the markets
Johnny Lawson (☆ 5/5)

Monday fresh routes, game changing affordable produce ! Wednesday farmers market always fun and delicious produce and goodies to be had. The community garden is a great place to hangout too.
Jenna Mckenzie (☆ 5/5)

Prices are about 20% more than what you can find online, when I went there about 50% of the booths didn’t have anyone and you couldn’t buy any of their items. The indoors area smelled heavily of cigarettes. Don’t bother coming here, a waste of time.
Anthony Lamontagne (☆ 1/5)

Great fun place to meet people
LOLAI'REI CAPES (☆ 5/5)

The Flee Market the community centre holds on Sundays can be a mixed bag. At times I’ve found some really great items from some fun vendors, while other times it has been just one giant, disappointing, garage sale.
As a music venue, the main hall is pretty good as well. Intimate and with decent acoustics.

Each market provides a different atmosphere and selection of products, making them appealing to a wide range of shoppers.

Market opening times vary considerably. Farmers' markets often operate seasonally, typically from late spring to early fall, with peak activity on weekends. Flea markets might have a more consistent schedule, potentially running weekly or monthly year-round. Craft markets are frequently held during special events or holidays. It’s crucial to check the individual market’s website or social media for specific dates and hours of operation.
How can I find a list of markets in Calgary?
Several resources can help you locate markets. Many online directories and event calendars list markets alongside their details. The City of Calgary's website often provides a list of approved farmers' markets. Social media platforms and local blogs are other excellent sources for discovering new and seasonal market locations. Checking local community boards is another good option.
What kind of products can I expect to find at a farmers' market?

The offerings change based on the seasonal availability of ingredients.
Are prices at markets generally higher or lower than at grocery stores?
Prices at markets can vary. While some items might be priced higher due to their local and artisanal nature, others could be more affordable, particularly when buying directly from the producer. The value often extends beyond price, considering the quality, freshness, and support for local farmers. Comparing prices before buying is always a good strategy.
Can I use credit cards at Calgary markets?
Not all vendors at Calgary markets accept credit cards. Many smaller vendors prefer cash payments. It's a good idea to have cash on hand to ensure you can purchase the items you want.
