Amazing service, and super friendly. They really know their stuff, and what works best for your unique stride. I just started running, and they were able to help me find the perfect shoe. They also gave me advice based on actually assessing my movement, versus asking me what felt right. Super helpful, and the shoes are amazing! Then Maria showed up and she looked at my walking and literally, read my mind how I felt about the shoes! I just didnt say how I felt with the shoes I was being fitted because I could not describe quite right. But with only observation she distinguish my unequal pronation left being more than right! I was purely impressed and was fitted to two shoes which I love love love, and enjoy my trip in Calgary!

You have to pay for parking at the store. I was looking for some passed biking shorts, and a lot of them were missing labels. The checkout line at the exit was 25 people drop. Not sure of I’m coming back! They did have some good sales on mountain bikes. Too bad — I just paid two grand for a fancy single speed at the bike and brew. A much better atmosphere at that store. Plus you can get an espresso before you start shopping. MEC is like a Walmart. Cheaper prices — no soul.

Shout out to Devon in the climbing shoe department for going back and forth multiple times to check for shoe sizes and walking me through different options. Super great help with going through more aggressive shoes and soft/stiff shoe types. Sometimes I’ve felt rushed in the past with climbing shoes so it was nice having a great experience! He even went through the clearance section to see if he could find a good fit for me.
Also shout out to the customer service team when I realized too late that my email was wrong and I wasn’t getting receipts. It’s all sorted now and they were really efficient!

Mountain Equipment Coop (MEC) is one of my favorite outdoor equipment and gears stores.
They have pretty well anything you need for outdoor activities: Hiking, Biking, Water sport, climbing, traveling, backpacks, shoes, clothing, etc. good selections of stuffs and sizes. I love their MEC brand products as well, good quality and functional in design. Our family pretty well grew up with MEC products.
Knowledgeable and helpful staff!
It used to be Canadian company, but not anymore. Still happy and grateful that the MEC brand and stores exist.
Love to look around and shop there. Good clearance deals as well as they switch out seasonal items from time to time.

The best customer service in town – not just in bike and outdoorsy shops – i mean overall. The thing that sets MEC’s excellent customer service staff apart is CONSISTENCY. I’ve had outstanding service from other businesses in town, but its always hit or miss, not at MEC. Because literally, every single time i’ve gone to MEC, the Bike Shop staff in particular, has been exceptional. Super helpful, transparent, and fair. Props to everyone.

Inconsistent pricing on products. On one occasion, I went to buy bindings and the display tag had a sale price and when it was rung in, a higher price came up. They argued that the sale was over. Then remove the sale price!
More recently, I went to buy plates and the till price was five dollars higher. Then they had stock of the same item with a price four folks higher. They argued that the low price was the «US price» even though that tag clearly said «MEC SKU» on it.
A year ago. There wasn’t price on anything!
Their inability to be consistent plus their almost combative customer service when issues arise make MEC one of the last places to look when I need gear. No wonder they are always in financial trouble.

Although there are many Decathlons, I personally prefer to come to this one. 1. Because it is not far from my home. 2. It is in a shopping mall. I have to say that Decathlon is really good in terms of variety! You can find all the sports you know here. You can find both indoor sports equipment and outdoor sports equipment. Similar to: basketball, football, badminton, tennis, table tennis, pickleball, baseball, volleyball and various sports equipment. And recently the season has changed, there are many clearance areas. And the fitting room of Decathlon is also very good and large. And I don’t know when Decathlon opened a second-hand area (similar to items that have been returned). And summer is coming, and many people buy summer clothes or paddle boards and other products. After visiting Decathlon, you can also go to other stores in the shopping mall! (*^o^*)

Decathlon is great if you know what you’re looking for. But if you don’t know what you’re looking for, you might have better luck searching online because it can be difficult to track staff down at the store. The items are fairly low cost and decent quality, but there’s nothing high-end here. What you get is a good value for the low price.
We have purchased many pairs of equestrian riding breeches here, and you get a decent product, but eventually they do wear out.
They likely have limited colors and or styles, but inventory accuracy from the website is quite good. And you can order in advance and pick up at the store.

What an Amazing place! First time to be there, and it was an eye-opening experience! The huge selection of products and the price was so competitive and reasonable! You can buy anything you need for outdoor, indoor, biking, hiking, fishing, and camping………. There is even a Workshop for repairing the bikes! The store was not very huge, but bright, and well organized and categorized! You can easily find the things you want to buy! The staff was friendly and helpful! The check out point was awesome too. You drop off the products into the box one at a time, and it was immediately correctly showed up on the screen! Crazily Convenient! Parking was very easy too! Love it! Will definitely come back! I went in today to buy a pair of goalie skates, and right away, I was greeted and helped by an employee who took the time to size me up properly and answer all of my questions. Super knowledgeable and friendly.
Once I headed downstairs to get the skates heated and fitted, the next staff member who helped me was just as great. He gave me solid information about the skates and clearly knew what he was talking about. Even when another customer came in, he made sure I wasn’t left alone, he brought them over beside me so he could help both of us, and even asked a passing coworker to stay with me in case I had more questions.
I felt genuinely valued the entire time I was there. When it came time to pay, they price-matched with zero hassle, and the whole checkout process was smooth.
Their goalie stock is awesome—definitely one of the best in Calgary—and they’re one of the only stores around that also offers Demo Gear for goalies, which is huge!
Couldn’t be happier with my experience. I’ll absolutely be back and will be recommending this location to every goalie I know.

Pretty much our go to local hockey store. All the staff are fantastic. We were recently an Everett helped my daughter get into a new pair of skates. She’s never had brand new skates. Usually brother’s hand me downs or sport swap. Everett asked very specific questions about the fit and feel. He also got to know what level of hockey my daughter was at and made sure to educate us on the type of skates we were looking at. Both my wife and I have worked retail sales and Everett went above and beyond. Truly remarkable. This type of service is not common anymore and needs to be recognized. Thanks Everett! Me and my family were just in the store and I can’t say enough great things about the customer service. We were there to get my youngest daughter all set up with all her fastball gear for her first year. We went in to get my 6 year old Son some new ice skates and Carson was helping us out. He was so helpful and informative! We left buying a pair of brand new skates that my Son is now comfortable in, as his previous pair was too snug. If you ever visit the shop see Carson. Went in to get my skates sharpened. Carson was helping me out. My two year old skates were also giving me some discomfort. He took the time to measure my feet to make sure I was in the correct skate. We then re baked them & fit them with orthotics.
By the end they felt better than they ever have.

After searching high and low for a previous year Easton Ghost I located one online at Tuxedo last June 2023. Living in BC this bat was shipped to me direct and as it was brand new the full warranty was intact. 2 weeks short of the 1 year manufacturer warranty, the Ghost breaks. After attempting to deal with Source for Sports here in BC and having less than satisfactory dealings, I got in touch with a fellow named Blaine located at Tuxedo in Calgary. Being in the customer service industry myself, I have extremely high expectations of the type of customer service I receive. Blaine by far is one of the most helpful people I have encountered in years in the customer service industry. He was quick to reply, and got right on top of starting the warranty process for me in order to ensure my daughter had a new bat in her hands within days. Everything about my experience with Blaine and Tuxedo Sports has been flawless from start to finish. He called to follow up, I received emails with pictures showing me what his stock was of bats, and he was very knowledgeable on the product he is selling. I will not hesitate to shop here again even though I am located a province away. Thank you Blaine for all your help and care you put into your customers!!

Wow what an experience!! Right from the first phone call with Matt I believe, I’ve been looking for a bat (along with a few others from my league) and he made sure to find it and put the size on hold that I had been searching for!
Then it only got better from there, I showed up the next day and spoke with a young girl in the baseball area (Sierra I believe) and she was so knowledgeable and helpful. Then when I made my way to the front it was busy but a manager jumped on to help when the cashier had a few people in line (it was busy and they could have used more staff, but handled it amazing) his name was Chris and appeared to be a manager but he was so great and friendly.

I was very apprehensive coming to this store after reading the reviews. So glad we made the hour and a half drive to come! We were asked if we needed help multiple times while we looked around and two fellas made sure my son got fitted for everything he needed.
The skates sharpening service was amazing and almost instant and the prices were worth the long drive. More than that though, the customer service and kindness displayed by the staff far exceeded our expectations. We have never been treated like that at Sports Chek! We will be back for all our sporting goods because we can actually afford it and got treated like VIPs. Thank you so much!

It’s always been a good spot to find a deal on something you’re looking for, although some elements have fallen off a bit in recent years.
They’re never «buying that particular equipment right now» but will happily accept it as a donation. They’re also not very thrilled to see you come in the door, and you can definitely feel it. Yeah working for a family business sucks, but if it’s that upsetting, do something else.
It’s not a bad place, but could certainly use some work in the customer experience department.

Just because you sell discounted items doesn’t mean you should give a very discounted experience. The attitude / atmosphere was very subpar. It’s unfortunate because they had a lot of selection but I ended up leaving without purchasing anything because I got zero greetings nor assistance when I made it known I was looking for something I’ve never purchased before (being golf clubs). I was planning on piecing together a full golf club set, instead went on to market place and spent $400. I’m not sure if the cashier there was the owner or not but I hope they can improve the service to perhaps increase their sales.
