This place is amazing, my favourite train store in Alberta. I love that they stock used trains and rolling stock (a lot of it) and are able/willing to help you repair what you've got. I'm an HO scale guy, and that seems to be the majority of what they carry, but they also have lots of N scale, quite a bit of O scale and more G scale stuff than I've seen anywhere else locally. In terms of G scale, I'm impressed by the amount of used track they usually have, which is probably very helpful to hobbyists in that scale as the track is usually expensive. Prices seem really good, mostly because of their preowned selection I suppose. The staff is friendly and everyone seems to love what they do. I have to stop in whenever I'm in town.

I found them online when deciding to get back into the hobby or not after 15 years away. I was not buying anything and made it clear when I entered. Bernie chatted with me and showed me around for an hour, gave me a book at no charge to help me with my layout as well as recommended a few other books/magazines for other topics. We wandered the shelves looking at various things. We spoke about scenery, rolling stock, track options and buildings. I really enjoyed it. He was so passionate and knowledgeable, it inspired me to get back into the hobby. I am not from Calgary but will be coming back here to buy whenever I am in town. Thanks Bernie

This place is awesome. After several decades of retirement from model trains, I decided to get back into it after inheriting some of my dad's collection. I was pretty blind sided by the amount that has changed from the 80's to now. Metal wheel converstions, umpteen million different types of hinges, height spacers, screws, track materials, locomotives with diesel engine start up and shut down sounds, light variations, train horns and bells. Pretty overwhelming considering my stuff is all out of the box and onto the track. I went to this store to get a little insight on what I have been getting myself back into. Everyone that works here has been so awesome and helpful. They completely go out of their way to take the time to go through things with me and don't make me feel like a newb wasting their time. If one person isnt sure they get the person that most likely can help. I have a lot to absorb. Even other customers have interjected opinions and advise which has been great. Now the trick is to go in and not come out with 7 more things on top of the one I went to get.

Trains and Such is place to go for all your model railroading needs. They have a selection that is next to none. Ross is always willing to help and answer your questions. I'm new to model railroading and the staff has always been accommodating and make suggestions to improve your layout. They are remodeling there store and making it even better and easier to find what you're looking for. They have many roads to choose from on each scale. Each isle in the store is packed. From locomotives, rolling stock, track, power, scenery, buildings and accessories they have it! If you love trains and model railroading, Trains and Such is a must for you to stop in and visit. Be prepared to be there a while if you just want to browse because you'll have plenty to look at!!!
