Avoid This Home Inspector – Lacks Essential Knowledge and Expertise Unfortunately, I have to say that Hamid is not knowledgeable about construction or home inspections. He has little to no understanding of the Alberta Building Code or City of Calgary regulations, which are crucial when assessing a property’s safety, structural integrity, and compliance. An inspector’s job is to identify potential issues that could cost a homebuyer thousands of dollars in repairs; things like foundation cracks, moisture problems, electrical hazards, plumbing defects, insulation deficiencies, roofing issues, and HVAC system performance. However, Hamid failed to demonstrate expertise in any of these areas. Before hiring him, I highly recommend asking for a sample report. If you do, you’ll likely find that his reports are mostly generic, copy-pasted notes that offer no real value. From my experience, all he did was check the lights and make sure the doors opened with the keys, something a buyer can easily do themselves. I made the mistake of trusting my realtor’s recommendation without doing my own research, and I regret it. If you’re investing your hard-earned money in a property, you need a qualified inspector who can actually protect your investment. Hamid is not that person.

Hamid was extremely accommodating. We purchased a new home and we were not notified to participate in the framing inspection so I decided to hire a home inspector to review the new home prior to our possession date. AB Home inspectors took my call on the weekend, and ensured someone would be at the home at the designated time our builder provided. The inspector was thorough, took pictures, and provided the report within 24 hours. He was thorough, reviewing everything, even though it was a brand new house. I have great peace of mind; now that our inspection is complete I feel confident we are moving into a great home.
