We requested an inspection of our newly purchased home by Calgary Home Insprctions in August, 2025. The inspection was completed promptly and while we were in attendance at the home. The inspector, Carson did a very thorough job of inspecting both inside and outside the home using the latest technology including a drone and thermal imaging. He guided us through the inspection answering all questions and providing a detailed narrative of what he was inspecting. All appliances, heating and plumbing in the home were also inspected. The inspection took about 3 hours to complete.

Subsequently we received a detailed inspection report the next day along with photos and extensive information on the condition of the home as well as home maintenance tips.

Carson was at all times courteous and professional. He has extensive knowledge of all aspects of home design and maintenance. We highly recommend Calgary Home Inspections.

Disclosure: We did not hire this home inspector, but they did inspect our home on behalf of a potential buyer.

Our understanding from the home inspectors we’ve used in the past is that you leave the property as it was before the inspection. Furniture was moved but not returned, lights and the thermostat were left on, and the portable air conditioner exhaust was not reinstalled correctly after the window inspection. We also noticed one of our lamps was broken, although it is possible this occurred before the inspection, and we did not see it.

To be clear, we had no issue with any of the findings of the home inspection report, and the report appeared to be of decent quality, for what that’s worth. Instead, we were deeply disappointed with how things were left when we returned home.

The inspections both pre and post were scheduled quickly and were completed efficiently. The problem was my post inspection results and required invoices were not uploaded in a timely manner. After 2 weeks of hearing nothing, I emailed and then had to follow up with a phone call a couple of days later. Once the business administrative staff had the information, they quickly went about getting it rectified. When I asked to speak with the owner to share my concerns, I was told my concern would be passed on. I received email notification that all the required steps were completed and again asked to speak with the owner who was cc’d on my response. The owner has received my requests and has failed to reach out to discuss. I own a business and wanted to have a frank, honest discussion on how their system failed and apparently has no backup system for when both the inspector and the business admin go on holiday. As a result, my submission for funding was delayed and is now approaching 3 weeks. It’s unfortunate that the business owner chooses not to engage with this dissatisfied customer. I do not recommend this business.
