Customer Reviews
10/10! Highly recommend Bridgette Bar to anyone. This was my first time trying the YYC location, however I have been to the Canmore location. Both are equally amazing. Best steak I’ve ever tasted both times. We had the Truffle Mushroom Rigatoni and the Wood Grilled Beef Strip Steak. Chefs kiss. Great recommendations from the staff pertaining to the well crafted cocktails, all around beyond accommodating and kind vibes all around. I love this place, I hope everyone has a chance to try this and be in such a rad atmosphere.

We had an incredible experience at Bridgette Bar. Out of towners, we showed up on a Friday without reservations. They said the only seats they had were at the Chef’s Bar. We’ve never sat at a Chef’s Bar but decided to give it a try. What a great time! It was fun watching the cook staff and chatting with them. And the food was outstanding! If we lived in Calgary, Bridgette Bar would be a regular stop!
Suzanne MG (☆ 5/5)

We don’t live in Calgary so this was my first time trying Bridgette Bar. Great location downtown. Really cool building with unique decor. The service was really great, the server was very attentive, but not annoyingly so. Food was amazing. We had bread and butter and brussel sprouts to start. Then my wife had the rigatoni and I had the maple trout, all of the food was really good. Finished it all off by sharing a delicious banana pie. Thanks for dinner!
Tanner Leavitt (☆ 5/5)

Amazing food! Drinks, starters, salads, entree, dessert- all of the courses delicious and to top it off they accommodate gluten free diets! Traveling from Kansas USA and thankful to have the best server, Liam!
Jamie Stafford (☆ 5/5)

We ordered the garlic bread, cauliflower, asparagus, Strip steak and the rigatoni. They were very good! It’s a little on the pricer end. They ran out of the banana cream pie which was unfortunate as a lot of people rave about it. We will be back for sure to try that and more dishes!
saaima samji (☆ 5/5)

We’ve always had an amazing time at Bridgette Bar, for date nights, Christmas parties, and nights where we join friends after an art event. I took my husband for a date night for the YYC experience, and honestly Tristan our server made the evening for us. First course, we both chose steak tartare, and the second course we agreed the gnocchi was better than the pork presse (it wasn’t bad, just not our taste.) the crazy thing was the dessert…I normally hate rhubarb, and of course Brigette Bar made a dessert out of rhubarb that I really, really, liked. It wasn’t too sweet, and it was almost like a better apple crumble. Loved it!
Mz Thang (☆ 5/5)

Finally got to try Bridgette Bar after living in this city my whole life! I loved that this is a sharing restaurant so that you can try a bunch of different things. However, it was very loud and definitely hard to have a conversation.
We ordered the garlic cheese bread, beet salad, rainbow trout and ricotta dumplings. Out of these, we probably would only order the beet salad and rainbow trout again.
While the cheese bread & the ricotta dumplings were good, they could’ve been seasoned more & have more depth of flavour – they unfortunately just weren’t stand out dishes to us.
However, the beet salad was phenomenal – the beets were paired beautifully with whipped feta, herbs & pistachios. The rainbow trout was also very delicious as I loved the maple BBQ sauce & the smoked potato puree.
All in all, it is still a great restaurant option here in Calgary & definitely worth trying!

Customer Reviews
Was quite good. Establishment Sky Rocket was my favorite. It was recommended by the person manning the pub. The fries were super fresh and the beers were great.
Angelo Pe Benito (☆ 5/5)

Dive/Pub with according food options. Poutine was not good – cheese was not melted, fries too salty. Chicken tenders too dry.
Came here to watch hockey game, but disappointed how small the TVs were… also hidden in corners – impossible to watch sitting at the bar
Anton S. (☆ 4/5)

Enjoyed my visit to the Ship & Anchor. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a diverse crowd that makes the space feel lively and inclusive. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was well-prepared—especially the fish & chips—and the selection of beer was impressive. The patio was a highlight on a sunny day, and the overall experience felt relaxed and genuine. A well-run pub that clearly values both quality and community.
CandidByNature (☆ 5/5)

We went bc a friend’s recommendation and it was worth it.
We had some beers and tried the poutine, which was delicious, crunchy chips and super tasty.
There is gluten free beer.
Leonor Barradas (☆ 5/5)

Food was delicious, service was excellent and the interior was really cool looking. If you’re looking for good pub style food, this is it! They also have a good drink menu. Our group ordered Nachos, Burgers, Fish&Chips, pizza and more. They were all very good!
Dan Yang (☆ 5/5)

Food is not the worst but definitely not your money’s worth! Bad service and wait staff. Please give yourself a better chance and just go to another spot. This place is a «sports» spot but it’s a joke and makes no effort. Calgary really needs to do better. Not to mention the racist staff…
saad kadhim (☆ 1/5)

Cool spot and good service. Loved the scarves above the bar. Sadly no west brom scarf (yet)

Customer Reviews
I went here for a company party on a Saturday evening. Great time. Service was great. Lots of games to play. Pinball is downstairs. Plenty of tvs to stay updated on the hockey playoffs. Was not a big fan of the music, but I’m not 20 years old, so it’s probably stuff the younger kids like. I would definitely recommend this place for a company gathering. Drinks were a bit pricey, but again, as someone who rarely goes downtown to the bars, the prices are most likely the same. Good times here.
David Reeves (☆ 5/5)

Great place to network and meet new people. Music was a bit too loud so you gotta shout. Ambience and games were good tho. Drinks were affordable too.
Michael Awua-Mensah (☆ 5/5)

I planned our second annual event at Greta this week and it went amazing! Molly was so helpful in the lead up to the event, answering all my questions and making sure we were getting the most for our budget. We had around 80 people in «the Alley» and it was such a great space: Private while not isolating us from the games around the bar. Tamara took care of us while we were there and made hosting so easy; I was so grateful to have her there! Zack and his team at the bar/serving were awesome and Will was so accommodating closing out the night. Overall, everyone had a great time and it made me look amazing! I’m excited for our next event here.
alma velez (☆ 5/5)

Visited during happy hour and was pleasantly surprised at the happy hour options they had. It wasn’t too crowded but it was a good crowd and the music was great. Definitely a pretty cool place for either a friend hang or even date night! They have a live dj and dance floor area downstairs on the weekends. Really enjoyed the atmosphere as well!
Milona Ina (☆ 5/5)

Originally we had booked a table, but once we arrived we were told a larger table came in for the game so they gave our table away. They were able to seat us at the patio, but unfortunately it is surrounded by smokers and not a server in site.
It took well over 30 mins to get our first round after complaining to the staff.
After this, they did however cover our first round of drinks and eventually found us a spot indoors where we weren’t surrounded by smokers.
After this it was a decent environment, good service and lots of fun games.
Jennifer Todd (☆ 3/5)

Went there for a work event. Staff was super friendly. Had a blast with all the arcade games. Loved my drink, Elli—gin, limoncello, and blackberry, so good! The food was tasty, and the veggie options were awesome. Great place overall!
Parisa Saat (☆ 5/5)

It’s a pretty wicked club/barcade. Great brew and food! The staff are great. The games are all pretty cool, there’s a lot of variety. They source locally for food, merchandise and art. It’s pretty easy to have a good time and meet people here. Check it out!

Customer Reviews
The raw oysters here are absolutely delicious, extremely fresh tasting (even though they’re from PEI), and the steaks here are both cooked to perfection! The Canpanelle (pasta dish in the picture) was savoury and VERY good and had amazing texture!
Our server was amazing while dining high above Calgary gives us that beautiful sunset view of the city!!
The only minor issue is the price which works out to $73/per person before tips (see receipt for each dish in the pictures), but you do get what you pay for!
Steven (☆ 5/5)

Major Tom absolutely lived up to the hype. Located high above downtown Calgary, the bar has a stylish, elevated atmosphere with stunning views (though I sat at the bar for lunch). The service was outstanding — I ended up spending the entire afternoon there, from about 1 PM to 5 PM, and the bartender made the experience even better. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and struck the perfect balance between being attentive and giving space to relax.
I ordered the burger, cooked pink as requested, with no raw onions. It was excellent — juicy, perfectly cooked, and topped with fresh ingredients on a nicely toasted sesame seed bun. The fries were crispy and came with a delicious, slightly tangy aioli.
For drinks, I started with their house MT Old Fashioned (2oz), which was beautifully balanced — rich, spirit-forward, and complemented by a large clear ice cube that kept the drink cold without watering it down too quickly. The cocktail presentation matched the overall upscale vibe of the place.
Prices are on the higher end ($29 for the burger, $19 for the Old Fashioned), but for the quality, ambiance, and service, I thought it was absolutely worth it.
If you’re looking for an elevated lunch, a great cocktail, or a chic spot to spend a relaxed afternoon, Major Tom is a must-visit in Calgary. I’ll definitely be back.
Chris L (☆ 5/5)

We had an outstanding meal, featuring the duck and Alberta steak—both cooked to absolute perfection. The fries, seasoned with a flavorful peppercorn salt, stood out as some of the best we’ve ever had.
Service was equally impressive. Our server, Seth S., was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, guiding us through excellent choices for drinks, entrees, and dessert. His recommendations were spot on and contributed significantly to a truly memorable evening.
Matt James (☆ 5/5)

Both times I’ve been to Major Tom, my expectations were drastically exceeded. First time around was a weekday, where it slowed down early in the night, leaving lots of prime tables in terms of views. Second time around was a busy Saturday night, right in the dinner rush (make a reservation!), and both times the service excelled, with no noticeable difference between when it was empty vs completely full. We were cared for and attended to in an unintrusive way at every turn, someone always available to fill our glass, make an educated recommendation on drink pairings, or just smiling our direction on eye contact.
The view is absolutely nuts. You can see the tower in all its lit glory, the sun doesn’t get in your eyes in most seats as they do strategically change which blinds are open or shut (though they are sheer, so the view is never fully obstructed). The city skyline is fantastic, and all the tables- even ones not against the glass walls- have an excellent sight line of the city still! There is no table I would hesitate to sit at in concern for my viewing experience, which is a relief.
The food is unbelievable. It’s 10/10, not much more to say on it. Every single dish I’ve tried came plated in a pleasing way, tasted better than I could’ve anticipated, and had a unique sort of ‘major Tom’ twist. I loved ordering a bunch of things and sharing with my fiance, that’s how reasonable the sizes were for the price.
Both times we came were to celebrate an occasion, and the staff were extremely personable and seemed to show a genuine care for my fiance and myself and our special days. They went above and beyond, even when we came back!
If you’re looking to impress someone, grab a couple of their gorgeously presented cocktails, some unique and yummy appetizers, and share the duck breast.
Major Tom’s has got to be one of the best restaurants in the West.
Jody McLean (☆ 5/5)

Major Tom is an absolute gem! The views alone are worth the visit—perched on the 40th floor, you get an incredible panoramic look at the mountains and city skyline. Their cocktails are next level—thoughtfully crafted and so delicious. I also loved the interior design; it’s modern, elegant, and sets the perfect mood for a night out. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable cocktail experience in Calgary!
Eugenia M (☆ 5/5)

Sitting some 40 floors high in the Stephen Avenue Place building. This upscale establishment does not disappoint. Amazing view of the city of Calgary. The ambiance is very warm, cozy & inviting. The food was very exceptional. Of course steak is the highlight of the menu. I had the Benchmark Angus 16 oz. striploin. Broiled to perfection. So juicy, tender & flavourful. The drink menu is eclectic with classic cocktails & a diverse wine list. Our server ( not sure if I have the spelling of her name correct) Bronwyn/ Bromwyn?? Was amazing, very personable & professional. As were all the staff that attended our table. A great place to have a quality meal or share some drinks with friends. A must try experience when in Calgary. 5
Richard Proctor (☆ 5/5)

Had a great experience at Major Tom! The atmosphere is fantastic—modern, stylish, and vibrant. Being up high, it offers incredible views of the city. Highly recommend making a reservation, as it gets very busy.
The service was a bit slow, but given how packed the place was, it wasn’t too surprising. The highlight of the night was definitely the Hokkaido scallops—absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. The cocktails were also creative and fun, adding to the overall vibe of the evening.
Would definitely return—great spot for a night out in Calgary

What can a person say? This spot hits on all levels. The atmosphere is amazing. Comfy, cozy, welcoming. The ambiance of this spot sets the tone for an amazing night. The food is amazing. We tried several of the menu items and were not disappointed with anything. The cocktails and old fashions here are the best in the city. Staff is amazing. Khaled made sure that we were very well taken care of and Mitch stole the show as one of the best hosts in the entire city. Drink presentation is above any place in Calgary. Do not sleep on this one.
R Qua (☆ 5/5)

An incredible experience from start to finish!
This bar is absolutely amazing — the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, the drinks are not only delicious but true works of art, and the music is simply outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
I went with a group of friends to celebrate life and a dear friend’s birthday, and we couldn’t have asked for a better night. The musician played «The Girl from Ipanema» and «Wave» on the saxophone, which touched our hearts and made the night unforgettable. They even prepared a perfect caipirinha — a lovely nod to our Brazilian roots.
It was a night filled with joy, warmth, and connection. We felt embraced and celebrated. We’ll definitely be coming back again and again!
Milene Palha (☆ 5/5)

Great spot in Calgary if you’re looking for something unique. The whole place feels like a real 1920s speakeasy – vintage decor, dim lights, and jazz music in the background.
Cocktails are top quality with creative presentation and strong flavors. The staff is friendly and knows how to make a proper drink.
I had a great time here and would definitely come back. Highly recommended for a different kind of night out.
Las Vegas (☆ 5/5)

My second time here and it is so much fun! The cocktails are presented in a magical setting, the atmosphere is dark sexy and cool (in temperature too as it’s in a basement), and the drinks delicious and desserts divine! If you want a classy and fun night with friends come here and enjoy the couches, bench, seating and sparkle tables. I mean what else do you need?!? Oh yes, more sparkles in the bathroom. Thank you Mitch, our drink server god, for a fabulous evening! ❤️
Tonia B (☆ 5/5)

Went on magic night, and had a blast! The magician who came to our table was great and lots of fun.
The drinks were truly incredible, works of art. The food, however, took over an hour to make it to the table, and one person in our party had theirs forgotten. Not great, but they did cover their meal at least. I think it was just an honest mistake so not dinging the rating for it.
Though the prices are a bit steep, the ambiance is fantastic, and we will be back, probably again for magic night because it truly was so much fun.
J B (☆ 5/5)

Special house cocktails come in with super exotic and cool presentations! Each drink has its own unique story! The vibe is also really cool and cozy.
I just give 3 stars to service, cause we had booked for a jazz night few weeks ahead and but when we showed up there was no band there and when asked about it they said we couldn’t find a band for tonight. We would appreciate it if we got a notice about the change in plans!
Parisa Saat (☆ 5/5)

I was there yesterday for a Brazilian girls night out and Sean and Mitchel went above and beyond with the service!
The cocktails are not only spectacular, but were also delicious! I didn’t know what to order and after telling Mitch the flavour profile that I like, he got me exactly what I needed!
The jazz guys were also amazing and played some Brazilian songs the group requested which had our group singing along to!
It was not cheap but it was definitely worth it and can’t wait to be back with my husband as I know he will love this place too!
Tried the shot roulette with a friend too! It was really fun, but be warned that the bad ones are really bad! Good thing you can wash it off with another one of their amazing cocktails!

Our recent visit on Wednesday evening left much to be desired. The service provided by the staff was not characterized by kindness. Furthermore, the culinary offerings were generally unremarkable, with the exception of the double smashed burger, which we found to be excessively oily and unsatisfactory.
Soheil Ghazizadeh (☆ 3/5)

Went to the pub for dessert and ordered 1 of each that was on the menu, sticky toffee pudding and Nanaimo bar cheesecake. They were $13 each, the sticky toffee pudding was banana bread with the smallest amount of caramel sauce and ice cream, the Nanaimo bar cheesecake came in THE smallest jar, it was warm, powdery and the crust base tasted old. However our experience despite the desert was awesome thanks to our server Sarah, she was awesome! The atmosphere was top notch as per usual.
Jane Willox (☆ 4/5)

It had been a few years since we had been, so we thought we’d go back and try the brunch on the street patio. It was an enjoyable meal. It’s lovely to have businesses like this in our community.
The service can’t be beat here. We overhead at a nearby table where they forgot to key in the order, causing it to be delayed. The waitress profusely apologized and covered the cost of that dish for those folks. Talk about taking care of their customers to make it right. Top notch.
Fancy Travel (☆ 4/5)

Came here with friends for dinner and some drinks. It was great! Staff was friendly, and the atmosphere is great! Small little community pub.
They have a small-ish but great selection of beers on tap. The food was great, my table had the Sunday roast, schnitzel, fish and chips, and the sticky toffee pudding, and all were great!
It’s a tight place, and because it’s a neighbourhood pub, so expect to wait at peak times.
Quinn (☆ 5/5)

The haddock is AMAZING. 10/10
Coleslaw was flavourless 2/10
Peach drink (clearly not a Bellini but you could help by adding what peach drink it you have in your reply). All Prosecco and no peach 3/10
Waiting for the server was the worst part of the experience. It was slow, mid day and we were told to sit at a booth.
We waited nearly 20 minutes before we got drinks or menus. Then another 20 for her to come back to order.. food came decently, but then after we were done, she took our food, our drinks and we waited another 20 minutes for the bill.
That haddock though, I’ll probably order to pick-up next time I’m in the area! It was delicious.
Also why only mention the drink, and not the poor service???
Arika V (☆ 3/5)

A quick beer on a Friday afternoon. Lively area down here and the KP is must stop if you like old, well established neighborhood pubs. Grab a pint of a local lager and soak it in. Great spot
Cameron Wilson (☆ 5/5)

We enjoyed our beers outside on a cute patio and went inside for dinner. The inside was very cozy and the food was amazing. The schnitzel was great — I was worried about the gravy but it was mushroom based and very tasty (not at all heavy!). My group enjoyed everything we ordered.

My wife and I had dinner and lunch here the following day. I will say the food is excellent. The burgers are a 10 and fries are amazing. Totally appreciate the BSB red ale. In house beer is cheap and fantastic. Secondly the staff are friendly and genuine. Lastly it’s located in the heart of downtown. The patio is excellent here as well. Please check this place out, you will not be disappointed.

Had an awesome time at Bottlescrew Bill’s in YYC! The atmosphere was lively, and the service was top-notch—staff were super attentive and friendly. The dry ribs were absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and crispy. Tried the IPA and it was spot on—bold, fresh, and full of flavor. The stout was superb too, rich and smooth with a great finish. Definitely a great spot to kick back with good food, great beer, and even better vibes. Highly recommend!
Calgary cribbage and beer meetup (☆ 5/5)

I was just there with my boyfriend to watch a soccer game and couldn’t be happier with everything! Service was top notch, the perri-perri salad and dessert were 10/10 and even the 0 alcohol beer was super cold! Our service never rushed us out of the table like most places in Canada would do, he was the sweetest and most helpful person ever 🙂
I’ve only been there before for beer but would definitely recommend it for food as well!
Luísa Borba (☆ 5/5)

A great place for friends and colleagues to hang out and enjoy good food. Love their bison burger! Service is also great!
Good Turtle (☆ 5/5)

Great little watering hole in the heart of downtown! Cool concept, large selection of beers, good food and excellent service! Would recommend.
Jordan Kool (☆ 5/5)

Wings were crispy, but super overcooked and dry.
The Bill’s sauce, which others enjoyed, for the wings was odd; it tasted like a mix of buffalo sauce and teriyaki. I think I’d prefer them separately.
At least a dog friendly patio.

Wow – what a fun experience at Proof (pr%f) in Calgary. They have a very generous happy hour with lots of baos to choose from and some select drinks, both beers and cocktails.
They are a cocktail bar that serves many unique drinks with delicious twists. All of their drinks are expertly crafted and are delicious.
Definitely a good spot to check out with friends (get a reservation), and make sure you have a safe ride home because you’ll definitely want to have more than one!
Andy Chiang (☆ 5/5)

This is one of the best cocktails bars I have ever been to. The array of liquors and menu of craft cocktails is extraordinary. And the staff is so good! We loved Sam, and Reece is simply the best! If you can get Reece as your bartender, you are guaranteed an excellent night!
Cathy Chapman (☆ 5/5)

We had an unforgettable date night here! The bar is absolutely stunning, with floor-to-ceiling shelves creating a breathtaking backdrop.
Sophie and the incredible bartender brought our dream drink to life — they made fantastic recommendations, and we can’t recommend their oak-aged bourbon cocktails enough. The Vieux Carré was perfectly balanced, while the Little Nancy — made with fat-washed liquor — was an unforgettable blend of smoky, spicy, and bold flavors.
This place is pure magic. The team are true cocktail wizards, and we can’t wait to come back for more!
Helen J (☆ 5/5)

It’s been named one of the top bars in North America, and it’s easy to see why. All the cocktails were amazing and very well balanced the food was delicious! It’s definitely a spot you have to check out if you’re in Calgary!
Randy Pearson (☆ 5/5)

Love their Christmas pop up! It was our second time and we will be going every year! We especially loved The Jingle Balls Nog and Santa slide drinks. If you like sweet drinks give those a try.
Agnesse777 (☆ 5/5)

It’s a chill vibes little spot. Dark and intimate. Some interesting cocktails and good options for getting smaller measures if you don’t want the whole thing. Didn’t try any of the food as came for an after hours drinks. Menu was cool. Although I was kind of left expecting more surprise and wow considering all the accolades who knows maybe next time.
Parma Virk (☆ 4/5)

Had an amazing evening sitting at the bar. All staff was very helpful and skilled. Nice selection of cocktails but don’t hesitate to ask them to freestyle, you will be pleasantly surprised. Ps. Appletini for the win!

Customer Reviews
Pinheads… Avoid!!
I own a machine and I’m on the lower side of good. I was in town for a week with the fam and decided to check it out. Monday night, all pins were free. Possibly worth it for the affordable beer but if you are a fan of pinball and understand rules etc don’t go.
AC/DC scoop didn’t work
Attack mars scoop didn’t work
Led zep upper left flipper didn’t work
Hulk right flipper didn’t work
Medieval madness trolls didn’t work
Black Night SOR upper flipper was stuck
Overall most machines were insanely unlevel. Many switches weren’t working, plastics broken and fixed with masking tape. Lineup was incredible but every game was visibly in desire need of a cleaning and maintenance. Maybe turn the volume on the pins up so they make an audible sound too.
If you don’t play pinball and don’t understand how games work, you likely won’t know the difference.
Pabst can crusher was a highlight! Worth it to try that game out.
I left and went to hidden spot. Pins are like mine at home. Well maintained and everything worked flawlessly. Balls were actually shinny and pins felt home us only.
Staff were great at pinbar just not a place to go if you have experience and want to play pinball.
With all the great titles, it’s a shame really.
Pinbar… hire a local pinhead to come in and fix your machines, give them a clean and make them level. Won’t take more than 2 days. You’re doing yourself a huge disservice.

Great musty pink rocker emo type joint, similar to foufones in Montreal or el furniture warehouse. The burgers are very solid. All the pinball games work and it bring a good dingy vibe
Kevin (☆ 5/5)

Thursday night Karaoke with Gus is a blast! He’s charismatic as heck and engaged with the crowd so well. I always have so much fun when I’m there. The vibes pair nicely with their fishbowl special.
Bastion Burger was such a nice addition to pin bar, I’m gluten free and there are plenty of options for me. The bar staff are very friendly and you can tell everyone working there get along well. Such a great time, every time.
Chris S (☆ 5/5)

I only stopped by for some beer and pinball and I loved the place. I had never played pinball in my life, so that was a fantastic experience! Staff was friendly and the beer options were good and varied. I didn’t have any food, but I would definitely come back again.
Mateus Karvat (☆ 5/5)

The burgers are really good. Had a smash burger that was made fresh to order. Fries are super good as well. My bf got a order of cheese fries, super yummy. They have a bunch of classic games also a bunch of pinball units as well. The bar is LGBT friendly and a safe space for the girls gays and theys. The atmosphere was super welcoming and accepting. It definitely gave off classic 80s gaming bar vibe. Loved it. Definitely have to go back to try more of the food.
Quinn Schmelzer (☆ 5/5)

Mushroom trip pinball bar, dollar per game, good beer small menu but rock solid food.
Elijah Roberts (☆ 5/5)

It’s so dark inside with music pounding not my style but I get the attraction for the young bar crowd. I probably would have loved this place when I was younger. I do love pinball ninakupenda pinball forever.

In the heart of Calgary’s Beltline, where the urban pulse meets the warmth of a Scottish hearth, Pig & Duke stands as a testament to the enduring charm of the neighborhood pub. It’s a Sunday, and the city’s denizens are in search of solace from the week’s tribulations. Here, they find it in spades.
The moment you cross the threshold, the pub’s atmosphere envelops you like a well-worn tartan blanket. The air is thick with the promise of comfort food and the gentle hum of contentment. It’s a place where time slows down, and the worries of the world outside seem to dissipate with each sip of your drink.
Speaking of drinks, the all-day happy hour is a siren call to the thrifty and the thirsty alike. A Jameson, straight and unapologetic, arrives at the table – a liquid handshake from the Emerald Isle. Alongside it, an old fashioned, its amber depths holding the wisdom of countless barkeeps
The menu, a culinary tapestry woven with threads of Scottish tradition and pub fare ingenuity, presents its stars: the Steak Sandwich and Meatloaf. The steak, a cut above the usual pub grub, arrives with a swagger, flanked by crispy onion rings that shatter with a satisfying crunch. The meatloaf, often a humble afterthought in lesser establishments, here becomes a revelation – a comfort food phoenix risen from the ashes of mediocrity
A Caesar salad provides a crisp counterpoint, its leaves standing at attention, dressed in a garlic-anchovy emulsion that whispers of Roman feasts. And then, as if orchestrated by the ghost of William Wallace himself, a cheesecake appears. It’s a dessert that doesn’t so much end the meal as it does put a velvet exclamation point on the experience
The service, a ballet of efficiency and warmth, elevates the experience from mere dining to a form of gastronomic theater. Each interaction is infused with a genuine desire to please, a rarity in an age where hospitality often feels as mass-produced as fast food
As the afternoon light filters through the windows, casting a golden glow on the patrons, it becomes clear that Pig & Duke is more than just a pub. It’s a sanctuary for the soul, a place where the simple act of breaking bread becomes a celebration of life’s small pleasures
In a city teeming with culinary options, Pig & Duke carves out its niche with the precision of a Highland claymore. It’s not just a spot for Sunday brunch; it’s a weekly pilgrimage, a ritual that promises to soothe the spirit and fortify the body. In the grand tapestry of Calgary’s dining scene, Pig & Duke is a thread of pure gold – essential, gleaming, and undeniably precious
Ron Singh (☆ 5/5)

Great food. Tried the fish n chips, wings and the duke. All great.
Dhinkar Sasi (☆ 5/5)

A great local pub for drinks (large choice of beer) food and to watch sports. Our waitress was friendly, efficient and helpful. We ordered a half order of nachos with the spicy boar meat on top. It was plenty to share for 2 people. Very tasty nachos but we would have preferred the meat to be a little more spicy which is why I gave it a 4 instead of 5. I have had the Korean sirloin bites before and they were delicious. Fairly large menu and food is good. Fun spot to go and watch sports.
Jo-Ann G. (☆ 4/5)

After not seeing my wife for awhile, we made our way to this wholesome neighborhood pub. The lovely lady who served us was very attentive, the Wednesday wings were lovely and the atmosphere is modern and inviting so I would highly recommend this place if you are hungry for wings on a Wednesday or any time. Thank you nice waitress lady and to my beautoful wife for making this soirée memorable.
Igor Cardoso (☆ 5/5)

Extremely disappointing experience. I came in for a beer after work , my first time at this establishment and was met with some of the most unwelcoming service I’ve encountered in years.
The bartender was efficient when I first approached the bar, but after being told to take a seat and that someone would serve me, things went downhill fast. My server was noticeably rude from the start. The moment I mentioned I wasn’t ordering food, just drinks, her tone changed entirely. When I asked for another round, I was met with an eye roll. And when I requested the bill, there was no verbal acknowledgment, just the debit machine slapped down on the table and left without a word.
I’ve worked in hospitality for over six years, including four as a server, so I understand the pressures of the job. But this wasn’t just a bad day…. it was a complete lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. After mentioning the experience to friends, I found out this isn’t an isolated incident. Apparently, rude service is a recurring issue here. Not a good look, especially for a first-time guest!! I won’t be returning and I certainly won’t be recommending this place to anyone.
Absolutely not worth the attitude! There are too many places in this city that understand the meaning of hospitality, this one clearly doesn’t. If basic respect is too much to ask, maybe it’s time to reconsider who’s representing your business. If this is your standard of service, I’m genuinely shocked you have regulars at all!!
Marisa Thiessen (☆ 1/5)

Soooo fun! Karaoke on a Saturday night ! Know the people that go up actually can sing here! Happy & fun atmosphere! Drinks were quick and had the option of getting served by a waitress or going to the bar. Very attentive and friendly.
