I made an appointment with Kallie because of her "experience" with curly hair. I am black with 3c curly hair and Kallie told me she could do my hair. I gave her a reference photo of the style I wanted. It was honey blonde and brown. She told me to get to that colour I would need to have a brown base for the honey blonde highlights to blend in and have a softer look. This session I would dye my hair brown and the next session I would add the honey blonde highlights. I agreed and we proceeded to dye my entire head brown. Kallie and her apprentice were doing my hair. Why was it that when everything was dyed and washed my hair looked terrible. Only the top of my head was orangey-brown and the bottom was completely jet black. I thought it was the lightning in the salon because they said it looked good and I trusted them. I paid $600 including tip. When I got home my family immediately told me that the colour was not uniform and the top of my head was very orangey brown. When my sister parted my hair in the back it was jet black. My sister ended up calling the salon because I was bawling my eyes out. I spent $600 for my hair to look like side show Bob!!!! I’m absolutely devastated. My sister messaged Kallie and she was gas lighting me that it was a process and the next session they would add the blonde highlights. I don’t understand how you can tell me at the beginning of my appointment that the honey blonde would not blend with my black hair the way I want but then tell me the next session the blonde will show when my hair is still black. I have an event this week and two weddings to attend. I look absolutely disgusting. The colour in person is even worse it’s so orange on the top of my head. Even my friends have pointed out how it’s not even brown and how messed up it looks. I’m completely devastated and disappointed in this place because Kallie should of told me right at the start that she couldn’t do it. I’ve been crying since I got home and haven’t stopped. This has ruined my salon experience. $600 for orangey-brown scalp. How were you even planing to add the honey blonde highlights the next session. I don’t understand why you just weren’t just honest with me. I don’t understand how you could do this to me. Do not come here if you want your curly hair done. If I could give zero stars I would. Update: thank you to the receptionist for communicating with me during this ordeal and management for refunding me. I really appreciate it. Just to comment to the owners response. The multi appt was two sessions. The first session was to dye my hair brown and the second appt is to add the honey blonde highlights so it blends softer and we achieve the look I wanted. This first session, just to reiterate, was to dye my hair brown but the end result was far from that. The top of my head is very very orangey-brown and the bottom is completely jet black. Anyone with working photoreceptors can see this. Even if I were to come in for highlights for my next appt it would not have given the soft look I wanted and what Kallie had explained to me at the start. Kallie even said she did not tone my hair. So what was the point of dying my hair brown? This wasn’t a misunderstanding or miscommunication. Kallie just did not do her job correctly and obviously does not know how to work with curly hair. So yes, I was promised brown hair for this appt and of course one would only expect to get brown hair. But being completely honest, I did not have high expectations for this appt since I was going to have brown hair. Pretty basic and simple to do. I would have had high expectations during the second session when highlights were to be added. Anywho, thank you for the very quick response! I really appreciate you being active with customers on here and taking action on reviews like mine!

I’ve been going to see Sasha at Hedkandi for years. She’s incredibly sweet and always does an amazing job cutting my hair. Recently I decided to dye my hair blonde for the first time and was delighted to l find out that Sasha is a literal ninja when it comes to blondes. My natural hair is very dark brown and I wanted to get a bright blonde balayage. Sasha broke up the job into three sessions to make the process as gentle as possible on my hair. Today we did the final session and I couldn’t be happier! Her blending is perfection! I’ve already received so many compliments on my hair! The atmosphere was very welcoming. I was very comfortable instantly. I was tended to right away. I had a wonderful experience with Sasha, she’s been a hairdresser for many years. She can take care of all your hair needs. She takes her time to perfect what you want done, and she explains what she’s going to do before she does it, so you know what’s going on she makes sure your needs are taken care of and that you’re comfortable with a coffee or tea. When she is finished with your hair, you will leave feeling beautiful with so much self confidence.

My stylists name is Kallie. She is absolutely amazing. So friendly and is an experienced stylist that is super chill and does a great job cutting my hair which is not the easiest as there is a lot of it. Would recommend her to anyone.

I've been a regular returning client for the past 3 years now to get my hair done by Kallie. I have a tight curly hair which had been through heat damage and chemical straightening for YEARS! When I first met Kallie she helped me start my hair recovery journey and treating my curls to heal them and recover my curl patterns. Since then I had various appointments with her for color and highlights , curly cuts, and regular maintenance. My hair NEVER looked better and healthier. I thought that I would never find a stylist in Canada that can handle my hair but since I met Kallie I have the best hair and the most fun experience with her! Highly recommend to all the curly girlies in the city!

Kallie is the only person I’ve let touch my hair in years! She has such great knowledge of curls and always delivers exactly what I’m asking for. I wanted to go back to brown after having highlights for a few years and my curls have never looked healthier.
