This was probably the worst experience I've had with a hair cut. I would not recommend Elena. She was nice and the conversation was nice but when I showed up early for my appointment, Elena was 10 minutes late. When she started cutting my hair, she immediately cut my right ear and it started bleeding. I didn't find out about it until after I left already feeling like the hair cut was rushed and very low quality. After looking at it at home, I can confirm it was not cut very well at all. Update - They contacted me to fix the haircut so I appreciate that. Harry cut it this time. He was careful, detailed, and provided good insight on how to style my hair as well. I'll leave it at a 4/5 stars. Thank you I'MK.

REVIEW UPDATE 04/12: Revising my 1⭐️ review to 3⭐️ (one star lost due to poor haircut #1 experience). Owner Min Soo reached out and was able to schedule me in with master stylist Harry for the correction within two days of my initial review. Harry was incredibly meticulous, thorough, and patient in listening to my concerns with the first haircut. He masterfully corrected the blocky, unblended layers so it transitioned smoothly with the length that was salvageable. You can see a palpable difference in blending and movement in my hair in photo 5 of Harry's work. I greatly appreciated the IMK team in turning around a negative initial experience around quickly. Thank you Min Soo and Harry. ***** I got a hair cut with Yeji on on Sat, Mar 22. She only showed me the hair cut after she had heat styled it - and it looked ok, though much shorter than I expected. (Note: I said 3-5" maximum to be taken off for layers. She ended up taking up to 10 inches off and did not confirm with me that this amount of length was okay, after she took off the initial 3" which I did agree with - which is extremely misleading! See photos below vs. the hair I came in with). It's been about 3 weeks since I got this hair cut, and I've been sitting on whether to write this review as I hate to write negative reviews, especially one where someone's work is scrutinized like this. I thought my hair would look better as I gave it a bit more time, but honestly it looks terrible and this haircut is so embarrassing as an adult woman - my hair is SO choppy and uneven; the ends are so blunt, blocky and unblended. Layers shouldn't look like this at all - even when unstyled. My right side is much worse (shown in first two photos) than the left (which is probably considered acceptable, but not perfect, given how unblended the shorter layers are with the longest piece... but you be the judge as you read my review). I've attached a picture of my natural, air dried, unstyled, brushed hair from an hour before I got my hair cut (fourth picture) - so you can imagine how incredibly disappointed I am with my hair in this state now (pictures 1-3). I'm not sure what my next steps are - do I get a refund so I can go to another stylist to fix this all this choppiness? Not sure if the salon will make this right for me. I understand hair looks best when styled, but am I wrong to think that these super choppy blocks of layers don't look right? In retrospect, Yeji only showed me my hair after it was curled because the curls disguised all of her mistakes and poor skill. Honestly really disappointed as a first time customer!

Absolutely terrific! This was my first visit and consultation. I was very fortunate to have Ethan be my stylist today. 06272025 During the consultation he immediately identified several key issues that needed to be addressed, time permitting we would rebook additional services for another day. Ethan is not afraid to execute his vision for your hairstyle. Using his talents and techniques acquired through many years of professional experience to help his clients achieve desired results! In fact everyone coming and going looked amazing! Great Salon! I will bring my Mrs here as well! Thank you!

After hearing great feedback from friends, I knew that I had to check out this korean salon in Calgary. Soyoon did a fantastic job with my hair! She did a great job finding the perfect hair color for my skintone and even gave me some color analysis advice! I showed her the haircut I wanted, and she was able to get as close to the picture despite my hair needing to be a certain length in order to achieve the same look. And the best part, the price was a lot cheaper than other salons I've been to before! The pricing does depend on the starting length, so please keep that in mind. I will definitely be returning to Soyoon for my next hair appointment! Thank you so much!

Ethan Lim was an amazing stylist. He did a treatment for my damaged hair and he gave me the most soothing scalp massage. He also taught me a lot about hair care and how to revive the broken ends. On top of this he gave me the best hair cut I have ever had. He gave me layers, but ones that blend together so beautifully and naturally. He made my hair feel lighter but somehow look thicker and more voluminous. It never tangles anymore, before I could never run my hands through my hair and now I can even after being out all day. I would 100% recommend him and will be going back again when I need my next cut.

First time at this hair salon and had a great appointment with Harry. Harry takes time to cut your hair, paying attention to details and also provides styling tips for us to try even after returning home. The appointment went smoothly and I would recommend for anyone with haircut/styling needs to try this salon.

Harry was absolutely incredible!!! I was the last person getting a cut at the salon before they closed, and then a lady sat next to us and kept asking if he was finished. I totally understand why she was asking, since they were almost closing, but he kept telling her to wait. I could also see that he wasn’t letting the pressure get to him and still took his time to make sure his cut was perfect. I really appreciate that, especially from someone who only goes to a salon once a year for a cut. While he was cutting my hair, his creativity and talent were shining through, and I could just tell how confident he was in his work. He didn’t disappoint! Because of this salon, I might just start getting my cut more than once a year! Thanks so much, Harry!!
