Troy’s classes have truly made a huge impact on my academic journey. When I first started ELA 30-1 and 30-2, I was really struggling—I was sitting in the fifties and didn’t have much confidence in myself. But from the very beginning, Troy was incredibly supportive and patient. He explained things in a way that actually made sense, and he always took the time to make sure I understood the material, no matter how many questions I had.
What really stood out to me was how encouraging he was. He never made me feel like I was behind or incapable—instead, he motivated me to keep improving and gave me the tools to actually do it. Over time, my marks steadily climbed, and I ended up in the seventies, which was something I didn’t think was possible at one point.
Troy’s dedication to his students goes beyond just teaching the content—he genuinely cares about our success. I’m extremely grateful for everything he’s done to help me grow both as a student and a person.

Troy is an amazing tutor. His class has empowered my son who at the beginning struggled with ELA - reading comprehension and writing, but after getting the support from Troy, my son passed his Diploma exams with flying colours. His confidence level has improved and he basically enjoys reading and writing. Troy’s classes and learning environment comprise of all resources to meet individual student’s learning needs. His classes are fun, relaxed and engaging. The strategies he provided using my son’s areas of interest to target his needs met my son’s learning objectives. We are supper blessed to have Troy. I have a daughter in grade 10 and I am going to engage Troy’s support for her learning as well.

Troy is an extraordinary English tutor. Right from the beginning, his passionate energy differentiates him from other teachers and makes learning English enjoyable, which is crucial if you don't like the subject (I know from experience). He also focuses on all the skills required for success, not only in class but also on the diploma. Most of our sessions focused on refining reading comp skills through practice or learning to write an effective PRT or CART. Unlike most English teachers who don't give specific feedback, Troy highlights your structure, wording and grammar issues and tells you how to fix them. He helped me improve my writing grades from 50s/60s in 20-1 to 70s/80s in 30-1, my reading comp grades from 70s in 20-1 to 80s/90s in 30-1 and my overall grade from 78 in 20-1 to 80 in 30-1 with the diploma included. Overall, he is an amazing tutor who will go above and beyond to help you improve your reading and writing skills to ensure you receive the grade you want in ELA 30-1/30-2 for post-secondary.

Troy is incredible at being a great tutor for high school language arts. He offered insightful feedback towards my writing + reading comprehension skills and assignments. He also provided plenty of resources for overcoming certain obstacles such as transcripts for Shakespearean plays. As a result, my marks for E.L.A. started to drift into the 70s and 80s. I highly recommend reaching out to Troy if you need help and guidance with high school language arts.

I struggled with English as a subject for many years, concerned that I wouldn’t be able to achieve the grade I needed to get into my dream university program. As soon as I started with Troy as my tutor, I began seeing drastic improvement, in not only my grades, but in my perspective of the English subject as a whole. When it came to English, I never wanted to improve on my skills or work super hard. But over time I began to enjoy it. Troy was able to make every class entertaining and interesting in one way or another, and it made completing English assignments so much more easier and enjoyable. I would without a doubt recommend Troy as an English tutor, as he is certainly the best tutor I’ve ever had and is a major reason why I get the opportunity to attend the University of Calgary for Kinesiology!

Troy was fantastic! Through the beginning of grade eleven all the way to the end of grade 12 he tremendously grew my English writing and comprehending skills moving my grade from low 70’s to mid to high 80’s.
I was a completely new person in terms of being able to craft essays and confidently complete reading comprehensions.
Troy was there for me whenever I had any questions and would give me homework or any other forms of prep for upcoming assignments.
Overall great tutor and would highly recommend for anyone who thinks English is impossible because he certainly makes it seem in every way possible to excel in.
