We had our entire yard stripped and rebuilt in early May. To start, Alex began communicating in January when no other companies were even returning calls! I knew right from the start, this company and its team were something special. Alex provided drawings and a detailed quote which we tweaked and then agreed upon. There were no changes to that quote other than ones we made as the project got underway. Alex advised in January that they’d be there on May 5 to begin and the project would take 7 working days. They showed up on May 5 and took exactly 7 working days. They kept the job site clean throughout and were extremely respectful of my neighbors. The crew is amazing, friendly, hard working, and are perfectionists. I can’t emphasize enough how great the team are. Each has their own area of expertise and they take great pride in what they do. Kyle was meticulous with the patio and retaining walls. Austin nailed the irrigation. Jason rebuilt window wells. Eric was keeping things neat and tidy. Alex coordinated other trades that were required along the way which was seamless. Yard was fully stripped and irrigation, lighting, hardscaping, new sod, and all new shrubs and trees planted. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the finished product. The quality and craftsmanship in all areas is clearly seen. We can’t thank the team enough and I couldn’t recommend the crew enough. Let me just say that Living Earth Landscapes is by far the best landscaper we have ever had going back four properties in last 12 years. From start to finish Alex and his crew were a pleasure to work with. Started our landscaping design portion in the fall knowing the summer work season would fill up and Alex completed computer renderings which he included as part of his initial estimate, that most landscaping companies charge a good chunk of coin to do or don’t provide at all. The renderings were fantastic, and we could visually see in the images what we could expect when complete. Based on these, we finalized our plans and scheduled our landscape project on our new construction home using a hard scape, low water design with decorative stones, paver patio and shrub accents.
Alex and his crew showed up on time and on schedule to complete a potential 4-day job from start to finish. The equipment Alex uses is great for today’s yards with minimal side setbacks and limited space to move around. The job started with the original design elements already determined and with minor changes on the fly, the job was completed in just 3 days with the crew working very hard and putting in long days. When complete, the yard looked even better than I had envisioned. Alex’s crew worked hard to cleanup at the end of every day to keep the neighbors happy and we had no complaints from anyone.
Thanks again Alex and Living Earth Landscapes for the yard we have been looking forward to. Low maintenance with a nice patio, decorative gravel and shrubs and trees to accent everything. The backyard looks unbelievable, and the added pathway lighting makes our yard look stunning at night.

The first 3 pictures shows the state of our flower beds before today, the next 3 pictures shows what Chad and Sarah are capable of. They also pruned several Mugo pine trees in our front yard that were growing out of control and make it more presentable. They completed the work in just a day and you wouldn’t know that they were even in your property as they kept everything neat and clean. I had a great experience with Chad and the team from Alpine Vista.
We were building a new deck and needed some grading done. I had hired another company who didn’t complete the job to my satisfaction, and the deck builders were coming in two business days. On a Thursday morning, I got in touch with Alpine Vista and that afternoon Chad come over to give me a quote.
The next morning on Friday, he was there first thing as we discussed. He and his team worked hard to fix the issues left by the other landscapers, fill in a 20-inch deep trench dug for a new electrical conduit, and hauled away all the debris. You can see the before and after photos below. They only took a single day to complete the work which was essential as my deck builders were coming on Monday morning.
When it came time to settle the bill, Chad actually LOWERED the total by $200, as he said he used fewer hours than expected to finish the job. I was very surprised – I had never heard of a contractor lowering the cost after completing a job before! It definitely speaks to Chad’s character, integrity and honesty as a businessman.
I am very happy with the work done, and the service provided by the Alpine Vista team. I will for sure be recommending them to my friends and family.

Nam is fantastic – called him this morning in a pinch to dig out crappy dirt & rocks from a garden bed and he shows up hours later and had the job done not long after. They even had to remove our back gate to get the bobcat machine in and reinstalled it with better screws than the builder used.
He and his crew were nice, outgoing, hard workers, fast and reasonably priced.
I would recommend for any outdoors work you need done!

«Day 1 Landscaping» is the way to go if you want fast, efficient, very reasonable pricing and above and beyond exceptional service.
I called «Nam» (the owner) the 1st week of May expecting to have to wait for a couple of months to have our backyard completely dug up & re-sodded, as it is a very busy time for all Landscaping businesses. After calling two businesses prior and having been told there would be a wait time of a couple of months, to have what I needed done, Nam, not only came out the same day to provide a quote, but also gave us a wait time of only two weeks.
Nam and his helper (Lam) were early by half a day and had my back yard dug up in no time at all. (Nam can sure drive a Bobcat «like no one’s business»:) The two were back early the next day, as planned, and even with the rain still plugged away and did what they could do. After having another very wet day the team were back to finish the job, as promised, with not only re-sodding but also throwing in extras, like adding a beautiful wood border to our corner flower garden & even fixing our back gate at no extra charge. We couldn’t be any happier with the job they performed as our backyard looks stunning & our grass has never looked so green and lush.
I would highly recommend this company in a heartbeat as Nam is a real stand-up guy who takes pride in his business and offers exceptional customer service with prices that can’t be beat!!

Had a wonderful experience with Day 1 Landscaping! My husband and I were excavating our backyard for building our garage and we had a ton of dirt to haul away, after 3 days of dumb runs and still no end in site we contacted Day 1 to remove the rest, backfill, and level the ground. They came the next day and finished the job very efficiently! It was a huge weight off our shoulders and they did a great job. The price was also very fair and was similar to the cost of renting all of the equipment needed to finish ourselves.

I really think you need to be more considerate of the condo/apartment complexes you take care of. I get that it may seem like a nice place to get work done daily when other contracts are slow or something, but for the love of god…WHY do you near DAILY use leaf blowers or other loud lawn tools to do what seems to be dust parking lots? I work from home and I know I have other neighbors who are home during the day. Wild I know, you seem to assume that you can just be loud for hours in the day. I have to have all my windows closed…and that sucks especially with the weather improving. I’ve also read city bylaws…you’re not permitted to cause noise exceeding 65 decibels (dBA) measured over a one (1) hour period during the day-time. Which I guarantee you do. There HAS to be quieter more residential friendly methods. Or at least a way to do it once every two weeks or so unless we have a storm or something. The grass isn’t growing that fast, the debris isn’t building up that much. If you’ve got to many guys to do useful work that is not my problem. Seems the use of excessive noise is a trend with this company. And I’ve seen the responses «We wish there was a quieter tool» rakes? shovels? You do not need to do every little task with power tools. I’ve sat through years of disruptive noise from you working at the neighboring property and finally snapped. Perhaps you’re more suited to commercial landscaping since you have little to no consideration for residential and the fact this is people’s homes.
P.S. two hours and counting of tools that exceed the noise bylaws, even during the day.

I’d give 0 stars if I could.
Starting leaf blowing for 1 centimetre of snow before 6am is obnoxious and unnecessary but also violates local bylaws. If you want to start that early, why not use shovels? Having a leaf blower running for 45 minutes at such an early hour is unreasonable. Hopefully Bugaboo can figure it out in 2025 and use shovels or start later in the morning to accommodate neighbours and the City of Calgary bylaws.
I went outside to speak to the guy after 30 minutes, he did not seem to care and just shifted the blame on the condo management. Based on other reviews I’ve read, seems like it was a brush off and this is a common response. Very disappointing.
On top of all of this, their snow clearing is not even good. Spots missed very often.
