Jensen Fitness appears to be a fantastic resource for individuals seeking a personalized approach to their fitness journey. The focus on tailored programs and guidance, rather than a generic gym experience, is clearly a significant draw. Many individuals report feeling supported and empowered by their trainers, leading to noticeable improvements in strength, energy levels, and overall well-being. The personalized training plans seem to be a key differentiator.
The inclusion of a registered dietitian adds another layer of value, fostering a holistic approach to health. I can’t say enough good things about my experience working with Christine at Jensen Fitness!
I have been working with Christine virtually for over a year now and have learnt so much from her. I love having all of my workouts planned out and personalized for me, all I had to do was show up to the gym and execute.
Having Christine as a coach has made it easy to stay accountable and complete my workouts every week. Christine is so prompt in answering questions, and is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to fitness and diet.
When I started the program, I was 6 months post hip surgery and I credit Christine’s coaching and personalized programming for helping me recover. With Christine’s help I now feel stronger than ever – we have built muscle, improved my flexibility and mobility, improved my posture and lost fat.
I also had a great experience working with their dietician. Christine and Rachelle had a very balanced approach to food and I never felt hungry or deprived. I’m now equipped with some healthy, easy meals that I continue to reach for.
Thank you so much Christine for helping me create a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. I’m so happy with the results I have seen and am excited to continue working with Jensen Fitness in the future!

I completed 3 months of personal training with Nick and it was well worth the time and money. I came into the process having very little experience working out and wanted to learn how to properly utilize weights and equipment. Nick was so great and making me feel comfortable and demonstrating the proper form and cues of each exercise, and in a way that I still remember how to do them even after completing my training! I highly recommend this facility and Nick as a trainer as I was able to achieve my goal of feeling confident going to the gym with a tailored exercise routine.

I have been going to Jensen Fitness for about 2 weeks now and I couldn’t recommend them enough!
Coming from someone who consistently was doing cardio and not eating properly I had no idea how to properly fuel my body and effectively work out through strength training. With the help of Olenka, I have already started feeling more confident in my strength training and look forward to going to the gym! She is personable, always has an amazing energy that puts me at ease during my workouts while also pushing me to do more than I thought I was capable of 🙂
Rachelle’s meal plans have also been amazing as I feel so much more full and energized before and after my workouts and throughout the rest of the day.
I absolutely love Jensen Fitness and look forward to continuing to learn and grow throughout my fitness journey!
Kassidy Kisil (☆ 5/5)

When I started with Christine I was a menopausal mess. I had zero energy, I wasn’t sleeping and I could eat lettuce for lunch and gain 10 pounds by dinner. I had tried everything (on my own) to try to breakout of the downward spiral but nothing helped.
I found Jensen Fitness through a Google search, was encouraged by the amazing reviews and started an incredible journey to healing and feeling so much better.
Not only did I have an amazing trainer in Christine but I also also had the support of a registered dietitian. What a team, they have taught me so much about how to train and support that training with personalized meal plans.
Thanks to Rachelle and Christine, I now have a better relationship with food (I don’t run screaming from carbs) and I have so much energy to maximize my workouts and feel energized after. I also sleep so much better.
I am so very glad that I found Christine and Jensen Fitness, the support has been amazing and the whole experience has been life changing.

My wife started training at Jensen Fitness around 2 months ago. She has made so many great strides towards improving her overall fitness and health. Her and her trainer Olenka have created an amazing partnership in the gym. I feel that that is key for the success, she has motivated her and has made it comfortable in an environment that previous to this experience was very uncomfortable. The biggest thing I notice is when she looks at herself in the mirror I see the self confidence within her at an all time high. After watching her struggle with the public gym route I knew this was a great fit for her. I joined in on the initial consult and we felt comfortable as soon and we walked in their facility. I’m so proud of my wife for taking the leap into Jensen, this has been an amazing experience and that’s thanks to the owners, staff and especially her trainer Olenka.
Marc Sciarra (☆ 5/5)

I’ve been a member since mid-January and have noticed a significant change in strength, fitness and energy. I’m sleeping better, mostly due to Sophia kicking my butt each work out, but she also takes care of my injuries and limitations, and she finds ways to work around them safely without causing further injury. I would highly recommend Jensen if you are looking for work outs with great trainers and to have a complete nutrition component as an add on option also with Rachelle, the awesome dietitian.
All the trainers at Jensen are excellent and each one has been absolutely great, Sophia, Brody, Olenka, Serhii and Evan. I have all trained with each one and they are all knowledgeable, professional and exceptional trainers.
Great place to work, check Jensen out the next chance you get!!!!
Christine McLennan (☆ 5/5)

Hey Everyone!
I’m not sure whether to give Jensen a terrible review or an amazing one! I want to tell you all it’s terrible so we can keep the gym all to ourselves… BECAUSE ITS SO AWESOME!
Have you ever walked into a gym without any idea what to do? Or maybe you had a specific workout you wanted to try but the machines you need are all busy with other people?
We have… Jensen removed all that uncertainty for us. It’s amazing to show up and have a workout already selected for the day AND the only other people in the gym are being trained by the staff… No more mental energy spent on planning what to do or if you’re even doing it right!
(PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU’RE DOING IT RIGHT OR YOU’LL HURT YOURSELF!)
Our Story:
We started training here in March 2022 with Keana (who is also a Kenisiologist). Right from the start she’s been so professional and also personal. She’s been so great at helping us continually reach new workout goals and live the lifestyle we want to live so that when we get older we are still fit!
Each workout is tailer made for us as individuals based on our goals and bodies. Keana is great at setting up workouts that are enough routine to enjoy but different enough that your body doesn’t always do the same motions day in and day out.
When we started here my heaviest bench press was just around 150lb, I’m now over 200lb!
I’ve also swapped over 10lb of fat for muscle and feel great!
We definitely recommend you take the plunge and go with Jensen Fitness and Keana. We can’t say enough about them.

Customer Reviews
I have had a fantastic experience with Christine from Health Stand. I did 10 sessions and each one was very informative and helpful. Christine took the time to get to know me and quickly was able to make me feel comfortable sharing with her. Her methods really matched my personality which made the process go so smoothly as I was able to understand and integrate the strategies and information she was sharing with me. I appreciated how caring and practical she was and always felt supported and understood. While I was supplied with many resources and «homework» to review and complete, it never felt overwhelming or like busy work. All resources were highly applicable and actively functioned to help me attain the goals and level of understanding I was seeking. I would highly recommend Health Stand and Christine to anyone willing and wanting to understand nutrition and their relationship with food on a better level.

I signed up for a registered dietician and requested for Carlin Frimmel due to her previous rave reviews and I was not disappointed at all. Carlin is very knowledgeable and provided me with a ton of useful information based on what I told her I was looking for. I had 4 sessions with her, which she was able to accommodate my schedule and each session was filled with info that created so much awareness for me. I have been able to come up with plans to help me achieve my goal. Carlin is great about taking notes and sharing links post session which you can refer to, as a guide. She follows up on any action items that were discussed. She is very approachable and easy to talk to and never makes you feel bad for some goals that you were not able to achieve. She always puts a positive light on things and comes up with plans discussing with me, that are sustainable in the long run and not something that provides quick results. I am very happy with the sessions I’ve had with her and have left the sessions more knowledgeable and aware than I was before I started these sessions. A huge thank you to Carlin! I would highly recommend her as your RD, if you are looking for one.

I had the opportunity to work with Angela, a registered dietitian, for support with my health and nutrition goals. The sessions were very much client-led, allowing me to focus on the questions and areas that were most important to me. Angela provided evidence-based guidance, along with approved resources that helped me make informed choices. Her approachable and informative style made each session valuable and easy to engage with.

5-Star Customer Service Experience with Caroline
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had such a wonderful experience with Caroline from the Health Stand Nutrition team! From the moment I reached out, she was incredibly friendly, responsive, and genuinely eager to help. Whether it was answering my questions, helping me navigate booking options, or making sure I was connected with the right dietitian, Caroline made the entire process feel effortless.
She goes above and beyond in making sure you feel supported and heard. Even when I had a last-minute change, Caroline handled it with such grace and kindness—it really stood out and made me feel valued as a client.
In a world where great customer service is rare, Caroline is a true gem. Health Stand Nutrition is lucky to have her, and I’m so grateful for the positive and seamless experience she provided!
dhRuvi bhatt (☆ 5/5)

I am extremely excited to write a review for Health Stand and Courtney (our Health Guru). From the Initial contact, to having the sessions with Courtney, was quite seamless. My wife and I had five sessions and each built on to the previous one. I was amazed at how Courtney could always detect a question coming and would always give a solid knowledgeable answer in return. She is very positive, upbeat, patient and easy to talk with. The follow up notes were a surprise to me after the first session, as I realized that her work in the session was only partially completed and she still had to bundle it all together for us to grasp the concepts.
The knowledge that we have gained is truly priceless and will be part of our living for the future. My only real regret is that I did not spend the money and do this years ago!! Highly… Highly recommend Health Stand Nutritional Consulting and Courtney (or any of the Consultants), as this is truly a great company and equally good people.
Andrew Lipinski (☆ 5/5)

My experience with Health Stand Nutrition has been wonderful. I worked with Wan first and then Angela and enjoyed that the initial consultation was to help find a nutritionist best suited for my specific needs. Both Wan and Angela were encouraging, non-judgmental, and were focused on helping me find a life style that worked for me specifically around me having ADHD. The work that I did with them truly feels sustainable long term and nothing like the fast fad’s.
Mia Anthony (☆ 5/5)

My overall experience with Healthstand has been phenomenal! Right from the beginning, I felt like I was at the right place to make real changes in my life that matter and will eventually lead to a sustainable healthy lifestyle. Intake coordinator, Annemarie, was friendly and professional. She took the time to help me understand the process and ensure that the program I selected was the best fit for my needs. She made time over her own conflicting priorities to ensure that I felt supported right from the start and answered all my questions. She connected me with Christine. My sessions with Christine were insightful and amazing. She partnered with me right off the bat on this journey and became my sounding board as well as my coach to ensure that the choices I made fit my goals and were value add to my lifestyle. She encouraged me to bring my best while being empathetic to the multitude of responsibilities I was juggling in my life. The staff at Healthstand are amazing people who want you to succeed. They don’t just support you for the sessions you sign up for but are very much available to be your long term support if you ever need it. Thank you Healthstand for everything you have done for me.

I worked with Marlee Hamilton for the better part of year for dietary assistance for a relatively serious case of IBS. Marlee is very knowledgeable about dietary options and was very thorough and patient in supporting me through my journey to better health. She is also very easy to talk to and very supportive. Her advice made a material positive difference to my health. I have no hesitation in recommending Marlee.
Jim McKillop (☆ 5/5)

I worked with Marlee via phone consultations. She is one of the only dieticians I’ve been able to connect with who is knowledgeable about mast cell diseases. There are so many dietary restrictions and challenges with mast cell diseases that I was feeling overwhelmed. Marlee provided practical and safe ways that I could add variety to my diet.
Melissa Graf (☆ 5/5)

Morgan was a great help in getting my toddler to start eating more! She was supportive and always had great ideas as we navigated removing night time feeds, throwing food, and sitting at the table. Would highly recommend if you are struggling with feeding your little!
Kennedy Wilson (☆ 5/5)

Marlee was so wonderful to work with. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease over 10 years ago but was still having stomach issues with IBS. By the end of my day all I could do was sit on the couch close to a bathroom. After working with Marlee I feel like I’ve gotten my life back. We were able to identify foods that weren’t working for me and even added in food that I had stayed away from for years, like dairy (lactose free). I am so happy I worked through sessions with Marlee to challenge some thoughts I had around food too, now I can actually keep chips in the house without devouring them in one sitting! Marlee’s work has literally been LIFE CHANGING!
Megan Moore (☆ 5/5)

Sam was great to work with. She led me through the FODMAP elimination diet and we found some food triggers to exclude moving forward. The biggest discovery that made a huge difference in my quality of life and ability to eat different food was increased water intake! Who knew!
I would have never figured that out on my own. Sam was very thorough and my quality of life has improved. Worth every penny. Thanks!
Krystin Nickel (☆ 5/5)

After a year.and a half of Doctor visits, no problems found Sometimes not eating for days, I was recommended to see a Dietition. In less than a week, I was eating and feeling great. Within a few visits Marlee sorted out what I could And could not eat. I haven’t felt better

Morgan Meneghetti taught me a lot about sports nutrition, and how to optimize performance using snacks and meal timing. I would highly recommend Ignite and Morgan to anyone who is interested in learning more about this.

I was in dire need of some help with my health when I started working with Megan. I quickly came to realize just how vast her knowledge on nutrition and gut health truly is!
Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable in her field, she is also has a compassionate approach to help you navigate through your symptoms and figure out the best approach to tackle them.
She helped me build a foundation for long term health habits and vitality.
My confidence, energy and overall wellbeing has drastically improved.
I cannot rave Megan enough. Anyone would be lucky to have her as their Coach
Colleen Lange (☆ 5/5)

Working with Megan was the best decision I have ever made for my gut health. Her guidance and knowledge about nutrition and the microbiome are exceptional. I lost around 20 pounds working with her and I am continuing to lose weight. I would recommend No Shoes Nutrition for improving your health and nutrition habits. Thank you Megan!
Mathew Baigent (☆ 5/5)

I have done every diet and failed to the point my body no longer responded to eating healthy. I was suffering with digestion issues along with all other chronic ailments. This year I wanted to focus on healing my body and NOT weight loss (as I gave up on weight loss). I stumbled upon No Shoes Nutrition and took a wild chance and decided to give it my final try before I just accepted my fate for good. My first session with Megan I was 99.99% a sceptic of what I thought she could do to help me, as in the past I have sadly been disappointed with no results. I am almost on week 8 with Megan and let me tell you what a refreshing change she has brought into my Gut Health as well as my overall health. I have learned how to nourish my body and feel satisfied and healthy. My gut issues have drastically improved and I am on the road to recovery. I love that she teaches me why I should do what I need to do rather than just telling me to eat a certain way. Megan is a wealth of knowledge, she truly knows what she is talking about. She is so personable, empathetic, relatable, and passionate about what she does, there ain’t no BS with her! She will tell it like it is and help you get back on track. Joining No Shoes Nutrition was the best investment I made for my body and my body has been thanking me every day. Weight loss in the past has been like a solar eclipse, I loose a pound only to gain back more. But here’s the unexpected surprise, since starting on this nutritional journey I have lost weight, YES I am loosing weight. SHOCKER!!!! NO I am not on a diet, but eating healthy and feeling fully satisfied. I am looking forward to continuing my nutritional journey with Megan and there’s no words to say how grateful I am for how you are helping me heal my body!
Virginia Inniss (☆ 5/5)

I just completed my second cooking class with Megan and Roxane and WOW!!! I have learned so much about the food we eat and how it can be used to help heal us in so many ways. Not only is the food they make and share, but the receipes are easy to incorporate into my everyday meal planning.
Carrie Gataiant (☆ 5/5)

Had a chance to join for a class while I was in Calgary. It was great! I left with a happy belly and lots of ideas for improving my diet.

Megan at No Shoes Nutrition was exceptional. WOULD RECOMMEND. She helped stabilize and repair our 11year old boy’s digestive system. Most of all he can enjoy the foods he love again comfortably!
Megan was super knowledgeable, passionate and pragmatically balanced the positive dietary changes we introduced. Great service, help and she went above and beyond; with fun and a smile.
THANK YOU MEGAN
Martin Balment (☆ 5/5)

The warm nature of Megan coupled with her no nonsense systems helps get you started but its her dogged determination to help you achieve your goals that make working with Megan rewarding. When I started I was 360 lbs. and a year later I am 282 lbs., sounds great right and it is but without Megan’s knowledge and heart the journey would have been twice as hard. My favorite quote of hers was when in the first day I said I had cheated. Her response: » you did not cheat, you made a BAD decision, now take responsibility for it». To true but also too funny. My recommendation, give Megan a call because you do not know what you are missing.

I went to see Dr. Sembrat for a body composition test but I received so much more. Dr. Sembrat wanted to understand why I wanted this test and offered a lot of great advice and suggestions even before I had the test done. His follow up email with the results was full of very helpful information as well. He definitely went above and beyond!
Laurel Lee Floreani (☆ 5/5)

I’ve been seeing Eugene for 3+ years for body composition and VO2max testing. He’s always been very helpful and really understands his stuff well. He always offers a good perspective. The service is affordable and valuable especially being able to have context now that I have a good history built up. Would definitely recommend.
Maxim Beaulieu (☆ 5/5)

I visited Eugene for a body composition and metabolic rate test and had a very pleasant experience. He was very to-the-point and informative about the information being presented to me and brought a friendly and relaxing attitude to the room during the process. Any questions I had were quickly and effectively answered. The facility is well kept and clean
Austin Kamps (☆ 5/5)

Went in for a body composition testing, took about 3 weeks to get the report. I pay the session that included VO2 Max and Body composition measurements. I think their machine was not working properly, so no VO2 measured, but mentioned this until I was at the clinic. I was charged the whole 65 dollars for the session for half the measurements. I would recommend a different option.

Dr. Eugene is wonderful, knowledgeable and very professional. I went to see him for a body composition test and was very impressed with the whole experience. He took his time to answer my questions and broke everything down into detail. Highly recommend, thanks for a great first visit, I’ll be back!!

I had a wonderful experience dealing with Dr. Sembrat. He was knowledgeable and pleasant. I got a detailed report after my body composition analysis and he took the time to explain the information. He also provided me with extra resources and information, he truly went above and beyond.
F Arthur (☆ 5/5)

If the Drs. Leona and Eugene Sembrat didn’t change their name a few years ago from their previous practice in Kensington, you would see their perfect 5 star rating from many, many more people.
I have been seeing Eugene for my low back/upper back/all over problems since the mid 2000’s. My family doctor referred me to him after a few years of serving at a restaurant as a teenager had taken a toll on my young back. Back then, Eugene was working downtown and it was convenient for me to go for appointments before/after work. I only stopped seeing him when he moved his practice to his home, making it difficult for a teenager who primarily took transit to go for appointments. I always appreciated that he gave me suggestions for stretches and exercises in between appointments.
Fast forward ~10 years, my office job and moderately sedentary lifestyle had not been kind to my body and once again I mentioned lower back pain to my family doctor. Once again, he referred me to Euegene. Well what do you know, he remembered me from years ago which was pretty impressive!
I have been going to Eugene to get regular check ups and tune ups ever since. He’s gotten me through the bad and the ugly. I had a serious back issue in 2016 (root cause still unknown. Many things were wrong with me, I had sciatica and a stuck SI joint and couldn’t stand or sit, and when I could do either, my body was permanently tilted to one side) and nothing helped until I finally got in some appointments to see him. It was a slow recovery (about 9 months in total), but I got better and have gotten stronger since. I probably saw Eugene almost weekly for 9 months, and it was worth every penny.
Nowadays, he helps me through the usual neck and shoulder stiffness from being an office minion, and the occasional bad episodes where I’m making a last minute appointment to see him because I KNOW he’ll find what’s wrong with me and make me feel better. He’s not the stereotypical chiropractor who just cracks your neck and your back (though he does do that) and send you on your way; he spends time actually checking out where your problems may arise from and also give you suggestions on things to roll, stretch or massage on your own time.
Having been his patient for 15 or so years, I can see that he truly cares about his patients and genuinely wants to help them. He’s happy to see you, and he’s also happy to not need to see you because that means you’re doing well and don’t need him. This is a man who loves what he does and it shows. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Eugene and I would say many more nice things about him but I don’t want to let this get to his head 😉
If you’ve read this far… and you’re looking for the best chiropractor in town (not that I have any way of comparing but I’m pretty much sticking with Eugene until he retires, moves away, etc.), I highly recommend you check out Eugene’s practice. The «businesses» I’m loyal to are few and far between, let alone one I’ve been going to for 15+ years. He’s been a lifesaver and his knowledge and expertise may just blow your socks off!
Edit: I have also done VO2 max testing with Eugene, his repertoire of services never fails to amaze me.

She’s kind, approachable, and genuinely cares about helping her clients succeed. Her tips were simple and sustainable, and I’ve seen real progress thanks to her guidance. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and supportive dietician, Chelsey is the best choice. Highly recommend her 🙂
Ingrid Stols (☆ 5/5)

Chelsey is a very positive, sensitive, knowledgeable person with a bubbly personality that makes her really easy to open up and talk to. I had a bad blood test and asked Chelsey to help me get the results back into the normal range. She gave me the information to target all the areas needed to and within 3 months they were all well into the normal range. Real clinical AHS test results. I truly believe if I follow Chelsey’s suggestions, I will avoid the bypass surgery my father had. This is the only google review I have ever done and I feel I owe Chelsey the highest regard I can offer. I look forward to the day that I seek Chelsey’s expertise again, hopefully only in a tune up situation. Thanks Chelsey, I feel truly fortunate to have worked with you.
Ed Loo (☆ 5/5)

Working with Chelsey has been good for my whole self – learning about proper nutrition for my needs (including unlimited recipes that work for no dairy/gluten) and my young family, eliminating the diet culture brainwashing, and becoming active in my own wellness has been empowering and truly fun. I’m no longer a short-order cook in my own home. We can all eat well – dietary restrictions, picky eaters and all! Chelsey is warm, honest, a supportive coach and as a registered dietician/nutritionist she is informed.
Lynne Couves (☆ 5/5)

Chelsey is a knowledgeable and passionate Nutritionist, who promotes healthy eating styles that are manageable on a daily routine and its flexible when life happens. We worked with Chelsey to simplify and re-direct our family eating habits; we have been able to continue the healthy eating practises for a long term. Having her coaching us has been motivating and encouraging.
Carmen B Jaume (☆ 5/5)

Chelsey has been amazing! You can tell she is passionate and caring for her clients. She has not only helped me learn food isn’t the enemy, but also to learn to love myself and take care of myself in more ways then just my eating. She teaches long term habits and is lovely to learn from. Thank you Chelsey!
Chelsea Varey (☆ 5/5)

Chelsey Love shares her knowledge, experience and wisdom to educate and support clients about healthy and nutritional choices. Her practical suggestions, empathetic nature and positive attitude are always delivered in a professional and respectful manner. My personal experience working with Chelsey over a few years always included current and relevant information, extra research on areas outside the typical scope of diet, and acceptance of me as an individual. I have, and will continue to, refer others to Chelsey Love as a knowledgable and genuine nutitional specialist that I respect and admire.
Christina Nixon (☆ 5/5)

Highly recommend Chelsey Love. She is an experienced Nutritionist and recognizes that each person has their own relationship with food, has a different lifestyle and the approach needs to individual. The approach starts from a place of health, energy and happiness with the side effect of weight loss. Chelsey has helped me to create new eating habits and a healthier relationship with food over a long enough period to time to have lasting results.

Working with Jen Bennett at The Nutrition Room has been such a great experience. She really takes the time to listen and makes everything feel simple and doable. I always wanted to get better with meal planning (and planning to meal prep), and Jen helped me build a routine that actually fits into my life without feeling overwhelming.
She’s super easy to talk to, really flexible, and always makes sure the plan works for you. Nothing feels strict or forced. It’s been such a smooth and helpful process, and I’ve noticed a big difference in how I feel day to day. If you’re looking to be more proactive with your health, I’d definitely recommend Jen and The Nutrition Room.
Cassidy Robertson (☆ 5/5)

Highly recommend!
The Nutrition Room offers the kind of nutrition support that’s hard to find, honest, professional, and incredibly well-informed.
Their programs go beyond meal plans and calories; they focus on real-life, evidence-based strategies that actually make a difference.

Kurtis L (☆ 5/5)

I had a great experience working with Kathryn, thank you!
The Nutrition Room worked with me across several months to navigate my challenging gut health issues. They provided me with great resources that are now embedded in my day to day life. I’ve also attended a few workshops, they were integrative and informative, I look forward to attending more.
There is so much misinformation about diet and gut health so I was grateful to work with a passionate professional registered dietitian to guide me through the confusing health world. I felt that she really cared about me and went above and beyond in ensuring I received the guidance that I needed.
Sarah Foreman (☆ 5/5)

I started seeing Katie a couple of years ago looking for dietary adjustments I could make to support a specific health issue but her approach is holistic and ended up helping in so many more areas of my health, nutrition, and feelings towards both. Dieticians do so much more than providing meal plans! I still have appointments every few months on an as-needed basis and appreciate the way she makes herself available to answer questions or offer encouragement between sessions.
Amanda Robertson (☆ 5/5)

My husband and I used Jen at nutrition room for support with meal planning and general advice for how to maximize our current nutrition and diets.
Jen is very knowledgeable and friendly, we felt like the support she offered really helped us get out of our mealtime ruts and we still use many of the ideas and strategies she shared with us even a year later. She also offered advice to us on what vitamins we could take to support our health base on our individual needs/profiles.
We have recommended the nutrition room and Jen to many of our friends and family!
Lianne P (☆ 5/5)

The Nutrition Room is an incredible resource for anyone seeking evidence-based nutrition support in Calgary or online.

Their approach is refreshingly different, no fad diets or generic advice. Every plan is rooted in science and customized to your unique needs. From one-on-one nutrition counseling to virtual dietitian services, The Nutrition Room offers sustainable strategies that make healthy eating feel realistic, not overwhelming.
If you’re struggling with IBS, emotional eating, PCOS, or simply want a non-diet approach to nutrition, this is the place to start. Their support is compassionate, their tools are actionable, and the impact is lasting. I’ve recommended The Nutrition Room to friends and family who want to feel better, gain energy, and build a healthier relationship with food, for good.
Chris Bennett (☆ 5/5)

Jen is fantastic! She reviewed doctors recommendations and my test results and gave me some recommendations on changes to diet and exercise based on that information. Also set me up with some meal planning tools that were excellent. Will continue to go to her for my dietician needs.

Customer Reviews
Rory has changed my life. I’ve been struggling with food intolerances and SIBO for several years and I was also diagnosed pre-diabetic recently. She helped me understand «stacking» and how to choose my foods so that I can eat almost everything. Her no nonsense approach was awesome and she has been wonderful to work with!! I highly recommend Rory.
Janice Grant (☆ 5/5)

Rory is incredibly knowledgeable, and thorough. She’s extremely positive, as well, and doesn’t waste any time. Rory provides a wealth of good, current, evidence-based information, that is not out of a box, but directed and based on your individual situation. She helps you to understand what you are doing right, as well as what changes you can make to do to support your health. In my own case, she’s clarified what is going on and given me the understanding and tools I need to deal with celiac disease. She shares information and a wealth of resources, which is really helpful. Rory is helpful, knowledgeable and very good at this. I highly recommend her.
Zanne Cameron (☆ 5/5)

I can’t say enough good things about Rory! After being diagnosed with UC about a year ago, I was struggling to keep my symptoms in check even with medication, and was dealing with a tough flare-up and weight anxiety. Rory, with her expertise in Crohn’s and similar conditions, guided me through a low FODMAP elimination diet and the reintroduction phase. It wasn’t easy, but Rory’s support and knowledge made a huge difference.
Now, I feel like I have my life back. Even when I have UC flares, I know how to manage them because of Rory’s guidance. She provided me with tons of resources to educate myself and truly cared about my progress. She even kept me motivated when I didn’t see immediate results and encouraged me to follow through. Trust the process and trust Rory—you’ll see amazing results. Plus, she’s an absolute joy to work with!
Thank you, Rory!
Basil Khan (☆ 5/5)

All I can say is wow! Rory has helped me so much throughout my journey of figuring out what wasn’t working and how to fix it. I can’t recommend going to her enough if you are experiencing any sort of gut health issue that’s been causing you havoc. 10/10
cailin falconer (☆ 5/5)

I went to see Rory because I was diagnosed with delayed gastric emptying and chronic gastritis, and during an endoscopy, the doctor saw erosions in my stomach. I was taking the maximum dosage of two different stomach medications but still had very strong gastritis symptoms, such as heartburn, reflux, and sore throat. I also had extreme intolerance to dairy and gluten that caused a lot of pain (I had kidney stones before, and the pain was similar).
I decided to see Rory because 1) I was desperate, and doctors didn’t know what to do to help me; 2) I knew she was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, so I believed she knew one thing or two. In our first appointment, she suggested FODMAP and said that she believed I would be able to eat gluten and dairy products again. Of course, I didn’t believe her, but I would be happy if she could «fix» my stomach.
Three months after my second and last appointment with Rory, here I am writing this review. I do not have any symptoms of gastritis, I eat gluten and dairy products (including regular milk, which I hadn’t had for 8 years before I saw Rory), and I am only taking one medication a day to heal my stomach erosions. My GI also approved the treatment Rory provided me.
Now, I can eat and drink whatever I want without being sick (including wine! If you have gastritis, you know what I am talking about). Rory taught me how to have a healthy gut. Seeing Rory has changed my life, and I am truly grateful to her. If you have GI issues, give Rory a chance and go see her. I never imagined I would have a «normal» life. Thank you so much, Rory!

Rory Hornstein, RD, has been an incredible help to my journey back to health. After three years of battling a chronic health condition without success, I finally found Rory’s clinic. Her expertise, guidance, and sincerity for getting to the root causes and providing me with real solutions, has change my life. She is a compassionate professional who is highly skilled — the best combination for any health provider — and I highly recommend her.
B Russell (☆ 5/5)

Rory is a very knowledgeable Registered Dietician. I first met her 16+ yrs ago when she helped me navigate issues with gluten intolerance. More recently, she was a lifesaver for me in helping resolve a chronic GI condition that I suffered with for 2 yrs. She advised and guided me in implementing an Elemental Diet followed by a food re-introduction plan. I am well on my way to full recovery. As well as her professional expertise, her ease of communication and care for her clients is exceptional.

Customer Reviews
I’m a new patient at this clinic and they’ve been wonderful to deal with. It was a long wait to get in after my family physician referred me but everything has been very quick and organized once I was able to get an appointment. I saw Dr. Vo Tigley and she has such a great bedside manner and she’s extremely personable. I found my appointment with the doctor very informative! My appointment with the health consultant was also informative and she was very friendly. I definitely recommend this clinic if you’re interested in making some lifestyle changes.
M Jj (☆ 5/5)

This clinic has changed my life and my perspective. They don’t just do the same as every other weight loss fad program out there, they are here to help you manage your weight, to understand why and how. They’ve helped me love myself, accept myself at any weight, and still helped to make my life better. Working with Dr. Walji was like having a doctor understand me for the first time in my life and provide me proper guidance and advice. Jennifer has been an integral and incredibly important part of my journey. Use all the tools they provide, this isn’t just about weigh loss and changing yourself, this is about accepting and appreciatung everything your body has gone through and done for you.

Exceptional service and results! I’ve had an incredible experience with CWMC. Leslie is knowledgeable, supportive, and truly invested in helping clients achieve their health goals. Leslie helped me with a tailored approach to nutrition and fitness plan that was immensely effective for me. The guidance provided has not only helped me with weight loss but also instilled sustainable habits for a healthier lifestyle. I highly recommend CWMC to anyone seeking a comprehensive and personalized approach to weight management.
Jelena Matos (☆ 5/5)

After attending the CWMC for just over a year, I’ve lost 30 pounds and am on track to meet my weight goal in the next 6 months to a year.
This is an amazing team of humans. After working with a doctor, nutritionist, and psychologist team, I’ve been able to make progress I had hitherto been unable to achieve. They examine all aspects of one’s life: nutrition, exercise, psychological aspects, lifestyle, medical history, everything, to come up with a plan that works for you specifically.
I can’t recommend these folks enough.
Sarah S (☆ 5/5)

Hearing about this clinic I had a ton of hope. I stupidly put all my eggs in this basket. Please unless you can afford the 2k paid program don’t get your hopes so high.
The free program is based on common sense. Take in less then you put out. Limit sugar, carbs and unhealthy fats. Try to find an exercise you like and do that. They will call every month for about 5 min to see how you are changing your life.
Unfortunately if like me you have a long history of eating your feelings along with meds that make eating all you do, this is not for you. If you desperately need to see them the wait is 6 weeks. If you are fed up and done with the lack of program this free program gives get ready for the unknown calls and ridicul sent to your referring doctor.
Save yourself and avoid this place
Janna Melia (☆ 1/5)

The support this place provides in your weight loss journey is fantastic. With their multi prong approach, addressing all of the facets of weight you really feel like you have a team behind your back that wants you to succeed. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Frequently Asked Questions about Nutritionists in Calgary
What is the difference between a nutritionist and a dietitian?
While often used interchangeably, there's a key distinction. A registered dietitian (RD) has completed rigorous academic training, including a bachelor’s degree, internship, and national examination. They are regulated and held accountable to professional standards. A nutritionist, on the other hand, may have varying levels of education and training; the term is often less regulated, though some certifications exist. Registered dietitians are qualified to provide medical nutrition therapy.
Do I need a referral to see a nutritionist in Calgary?
Generally, no, you do not need a referral to consult with a nutritionist. Most nutritionists are accessible for appointments without needing a doctor’s note. However, depending on your insurance plan or the specific reasons you're seeking nutritional guidance, it’s always a good idea to check with your insurance provider first.
What can a nutritionist help me with?
Nutritionists can assist with a wide range of health concerns. They can provide guidance on weight management, healthy eating habits, food allergies, sports nutrition, managing chronic conditions like diabetes or heart disease through diet, and optimizing your overall well-being. They focus on education and behavior change to create sustainable healthy choices.
How do I find a qualified nutritionist in Calgary?
Finding a qualified nutritionist requires careful research. Look for credentials, such as a degree in nutrition or a relevant certification. Check online directories and review client testimonials. Many nutritionists offer initial consultations where you can assess their approach and determine if they're a good fit for your needs. Consider referrals from trusted sources.
What are the typical costs associated with seeing a nutritionist?
Costs can vary significantly depending on the nutritionist's experience, credentials, and the type of services offered. Initial consultations may be priced differently than ongoing sessions. Many offer packages or sliding scale fees. Always inquire about the fee structure during the initial consultation to avoid unexpected charges.
What kind of questions should I ask a potential nutritionist?
During a consultation, ask about their education and experience, their approach to nutrition, what methods they utilize, and how they tailor their advice to individual needs. Inquire about their philosophy and how they measure success. Asking about their client confidentiality policies is also important.
Are nutritionists covered by insurance in Calgary?
Whether or not a nutritionist's services are covered by your insurance depends on your specific plan and the reason for your visit. Some insurance companies cover nutrition counseling for certain medical conditions like diabetes or heart disease. Contact your insurance provider directly to verify coverage before scheduling an appointment.
What is the difference between a nutrition assessment and a consultation?
A nutrition assessment is a more in-depth evaluation of your dietary habits, medical history, and overall health status. It often involves detailed questionnaires, blood tests (if applicable), and a comprehensive review of your lifestyle. A consultation is typically a shorter session focused on providing general nutrition advice and answering your questions.
What happens during a typical nutrition consultation?
A typical consultation usually begins with a discussion of your health goals and concerns. The nutritionist will ask about your eating habits, lifestyle, and any relevant medical history. They may ask you to keep a food diary. You'll then receive personalized recommendations and strategies for improving your diet and overall well-being.
How long does it take to see results from working with a nutritionist?
The timeline for seeing results varies greatly depending on your individual goals, the severity of your health concerns, and your commitment to implementing the nutritionist’s recommendations. It’s often a gradual process involving sustainable behavior changes. Realistic expectations and consistent effort are key to achieving long-term success. Some benefits, like increased energy or improved digestion, may be noticeable sooner than others.
