While I was waiting Ahmed had the audacity to tell us that he can just use his debit card instead of going to the bank when he denied the cash payment we wanted to use. He rolled his eyes, he had an incredible amount of attitude and tone. Pure privileged guy that had no sense of customer service. If you hate your job that much, don’t work at it! Everyone has their bad days but don’t take it out on clients that’s HELPING pay for your needs. Insane. I hope upper management reads this and considers providing proper education when delivering customer service. Never exchanging money from here again. If you don’t want your day ruined; I would suggest not coming here either.

I am very satisfied with the good rate and the excellent service I received from Calforex Chinook Mall location. Before I decided to do business with Calforex, I did some research. From what I have learned, this place is not only offering a very good exchange rate, but also providing good service. I then contacted the Chinook Mall location manager Ms. Tell for the detailed information regarding the process of $ exchange. Ms.Tell was very patient, she was with me all the way from the beginning of the preparation stage to the day the transaction is finished. At one point, I almost gave up because of all the paperwork the Compliance Dept asked me to prepare(some of them don’t make sense). Thankfully Ms. Tell was communicating in between the Compliance Dept and me; by doing so, the deal went smoothly. Everybody in the store is nice, of course including the teller who helped me on Mar.13th; sorry I didn’t write down her name since I thought I would remember. All in all, I had a very pleasant experience with Calforex Chinook Mall location staff; of course I will choose Calforex to do business next time!!!

Excellent Customer Service. The Bitvo exchange is very customer friendly and easy to use. I had many questions when the Bitvo exchange first started and have used their chat service and have phoned them directly in order to get a comfort level before I used the exchange. One of my concerns was how they dealt with cold storage. They explained their cold storage procedure and I now feel very confident in using Bitvo.
Also, I have had direct conversation with their president, Pam Draper. Very knowledgeable and accessible. How many Presidents of an exchange are accessible and actually care about what their customers think? The Bitvo President also gives me a high comfort level when using Bitvo.
I have used many exchanges in the past but I plan to only use Bitvo from now on.

Horrible Experience at WEST REMIT – Beware of Their Scam!
I had the worst experience ever at WEST REMIT while trying to exchange money. They offered me a terrible exchange rate, much worse than what other places are offering. On top of that, the staff—specifically an extremely rude and racist Indian employee—treated me with zero respect.
When I asked for a receipt, I was told, «We are about to close, come back tomorrow.» This is completely unprofessional and suspicious. It’s clear they don’t operate with honesty or transparency, and I felt completely scammed.
This place is not only disrespectful but also seems to be running shady practices. Save yourself the headache and avoid this business at all costs. Spread the word so no one else gets taken advantage of. Businesses like this don’t deserve to operate.

I just picked up some foreign currency here just so I had some when I landed. The exchange rate was quick a bit lower than just sending yourself cash using Western Union. When I needed currency in Argentina, I learned the best was was to wire yourself money to pick up at and branch (They are like Starbucks – EVERYWHERE). Western Union gave you close to the black market rate which was MUCH better than the official rate. It’s convenient to have a bit of cash when you land, but you are better off to get it at your destination. The staff are friendly and efficient, it’s just the rates are not great.

My father is a senior citizen who recently moved to Canada and English is not his first language.While we were at the counter I was doing translation for him.The cashier (I think her name was Sleesha) who was helping us noticed this and said she speaks my dad’s language and can talk to him in that.My dad was very happy and she made this whole process very smooth and less stressful for him and she explained everything very nicely.My father had couple of questions initially which he was hesitant to ask due to language barrier but as soon as she was talking to him directly in his native language he was very comfortable and asked everything that he wanted to know.The cashier made sure that my dad was comfortable with the whole process and counted the cash 2-3 times for him.Their exchange rate was good as well…Highly recommended!!

I went to chinook mall this one Asian lady, the first one near the door was very disrespectful. I’m writing this review so her boss knows what she does to people. She kept on asking me unnecessary questions, I was patient with her and I asked her why she was asking me all these questions. She had an attitude the whole time and had no manners when she took me to the first station to the last station. when I told her I didn’t trust the money counting machine and asked her if she could count it for me she said no, she threw the money my direction and said «there’s cameras take your money and go» and then stormed off, this other lady had to go get her to come back and count the money and she seemed very mad while counting the money. She kept giving me dirty looks and she was very unprofessional. Is this how you respect your customers by hiring people like this?

My experience with this company is just horrible. Don’t waste your time, get your money exchanged somewhere else. Yes, there are lot of different options in Calgary. I tried to exchange some currency before my next trip in December before the rates go up. I had to provide latest paystubs, bank statements, letter of employment, flight tickets and the reason why am I exchanging it again? After 45 min of reviewing my documents my request was declined only because the reason «I would like to exchange now, before rates go up» is not a valid reason for exchanging money. They make you feel like a criminal. I will never do business with them anymore, even though I work in downtown across the street and travel a lot, and will not recommend their service to anyone else.

I’ve been exchanging Canadian to U.S. dollars for 15 years,when I am travelling and have never encountered such abusive questioning. For an $11,000 exchange, I was asked for two forms of ID, my workplace, my destination, and even how I saved the money. This felt ridiculous. I told them I wasn’t stealing; I work hard for my money.
Then, I went to another exchange where they simply asked for my ID, and I completed the exchange. It was that simple.
This place were very disrespectful and abusive, especially towards someone of a different background, clearly trying to put down.
I do not recommend this store.
Check the reviews before you go; I certainly should visit other Exchange store.

I’ve been going to Albern Coins for years now. If you want to stack gold or bullion, this place has the best premiums in the city and will beat any bank pricing. There is indeed a protocol that must be followed with ID and questions. . . a small inconvenience to suffer through but when you save $680 on a 100 oz silver bar versus buying at the CIBC, totally worth it lol!. . .

Went to purchase gold coins with cash. Could not transact because my wife held the cash, not me even though it was my money. The rep wanted my wife’s id who left it in the car, a 5 minute walk. When I told him it was my cash he rudely interrupted me and gave me a lecture on money laundering and that is why he would not transact. We went to another company only a short distance away. Same scenario but everything worked. Our ids were not needed. So I asked the guy why. Not on purchases of gold, only on sales he said. Talk about not only poor customer service but incompetence as well.

I recently brought my coin collection to get appraised with the intent to sell. Waited a week and half never heard back from them. I went in and they told me that they would give me x amount. I asked can I see the appraisal. They told me that the appraisal is what they are offering me. I said no that’s an offer not an appraisal if I decided not to sell to them I did agree to pay for the appraisal. I should have the right to get the appraisal but they refused to give me the appraisal. They got all mad at me because I wanted the appraisal that I was going to be paying for. They did give me the coin collection back I never received an appraisal and I didn’t pay them due to no documentation of an appraisal. I recommend other people that are considering going here to do your due diligence and make sure that you are being treated accordingly you should be able to see both what they are willing to pay you and what the appraisal is worth.

Bullion prices much higher in store then on their website. Count every item piece that you bring in because they will short you. Attitude of manager is absolutely terrible. I’d avoid this place like the plaque. Other coin dealers in town much more fair and pleasant to deal with.

Terrible exchange rate for CDN to MXN Peso. I’ve been here MANY times to exchange CDN to USD and never had too bad of an exchange rate. Certainly better than a credit card would give. However when i went to get Pesos this week after getting the Peso’s i realized i didn’t know how many peso’s i should be expecting back for my $600 CDN. She gave me 7,200 Pesos. I googled it quick and I should have been getting closer to 8,200. I asked her about it and she said that was the ‘Google’ exchange rate and that ‘they have bills to pay’. Seemed like a big difference. When i got home i looked into what i could get at my TD bank and i could get 8,100. No brainer. I called and asked if i could return the pesos cause the exchange rate was quite bad. At first she said no. Then when i pressed she said i could return it if i came before closing, but couldn’t do it the next day. It was 8:45pm and they close at 9. They won’t get my business again.

I went recently, the rate on the website was not the same as the real exchange rate. Rate was roughly 1.47 but the real rate was 1.5 (buying American with Canadian). However no annoying paperwork or limits for me like some banks such as CIBC impose. Service for me was fast.
