I take my son to the speech class every week here. Tracy is super patient and professional! My son really enjoys the class with her. And those homework that Tracy left for us is very helpful too. I do see a lot of progress that my son has made in pronunciation and speech. Now in daycare, he is more confident to talk with his teachers and chat with his peers. Besides, the staff here are very friendly and supportive. I will highly recommend this place!

I am an international student and I joined a few weeks of speech therapy sessions here. My experience has been amazing. The therapist was very patient and supportive. We worked on both articulation and language, and I saw a huge improvement in a short time.
My English speaking score improved from 10/100 to 80/100, which I never thought was possible so quickly. I feel much more confident now in both everyday conversation and academic speaking.
Thank you so much for your help and kindness. I really recommend this place to any students who want to improve their English speaking skills.

I found the business to be very professional in all aspects and my daughter keeps asking when we will be going back. I couldn’t be more happy with her progress!!

Very strangely run business. They get you to e-transfer for the appointment prior to attending and then refuse to give any receipt so then you cannot submit the expense to your benefits. Ridiculous and disappointing.
Paid for services on February 21st, 2025 and as of March 12th, 2025 I’m still waiting for a receipt in spite of following up via email twice already (haven’t even received a reply).

Imran helped me review my work from home set up.
I felt the home office was not ergonomically efficient and was referred to HLOT
It was easy to work together and they were accommodating to meet my schedule.
Imran reviewed my office set up and genuinely took time to get to know me to help provide the best recommendation. He understood I am on the computer for more than 8 hours a day and provided the following suggestion to optimize my work space
– foot rest ( I wish I got this sooner)
– new mesh chair helped me with my posture
-mounted my second screen to provide more desk space and reduce neck strain
-ergo wireless mouse (ordered) and mouse pad with wrist support to ease wrist pain
-split keyboard
-rocketbook to reduce paper waste and have all my notes in one place. This was a personal suggestion, which I appreciated
– standing desk add on that I have ordered and waiting on
The benefit of these suggestions have made my days more efficient as it alleviates back, neck and wrist pains
Highly recommend

Highly recommend HLOT, As when I have to go through very hard time during my workplace incident. My therapist referred me to HLOT. Jeff has done a good job to help me recover. Overall a very good experience. After that I feel like everyone has to take benefits of these therapies because of day to day stressful life now a days. These techniques helps allot to understand how our brain can manage stress in better way. It is always good to take help rather than struggling alone. Thank you Jeff for your help and support…

I am a prospective OT student who was reaching out to different clinical settings to get as much shadowing work done to help guide my decision on if I wanted to pursue OT! Mr. Moolasseril was very quick to respond and foster my learning. I had a wonderful chance to sit down with him and ask questions. He was very transparent and shared a copious amount of information! I was also able to observe a couple exposure therapy sessions with him which were very informative. Great guy, great clinic, would definitely recommend reaching out if you are thinking of OT!

We’ve had the most wonderful experience with Beyond Speech Therapy! My 8-year-old daughter has been seeing Willow for just under two months, and the progress she’s made already is incredible. She was starting to experience frustration and even embarrassment when people had trouble understanding her—something no child should have to go through. But with Willow’s kind, encouraging, and playful approach, everything has changed.
Willow has a gift for blending effective speech techniques with fun and engaging activities. My daughter genuinely looks forward to her sessions, and that alone speaks volumes! She’s become more confident in her speech, often stopping to self-correct sounds, and does so without feeling embarrassed. Willow has created an environment where my daughter feels supported, capable, and proud of her efforts.
We’re so grateful for Willow and the team at Beyond Speech Therapy. It’s made a world of difference for my daughter, both in her communication skills and her self-esteem. Highly recommend!
Laura (☆ 5/5)

Pursuing speech therapy as an adult was something I had considered for a long time, but I never had the courage to take the first step. It felt daunting; not only because speech therapy is often associated with children, but also because I wasn’t sure what to expect from the process. After doing extensive research and reading countless reviews, I came across Beyond Speech Therapy. What really stood out to me was that, unlike many other clinics in Calgary that primarily focus on pediatric speech therapy, Beyond Speech had a dedicated section on their website for adult clients. That alone gave me the confidence to reach out and book an appointment.
From the very beginning, the experience was seamless. Booking my initial session was simple, and they handled my benefits setup for direct billing, which made the whole process even easier. I reached out because I wanted to work on refining my lisp and improving my public speaking skills, something I knew would have a positive impact on both my personal and professional life.
I was matched with Jenna, and right from our first session, she made me feel completely comfortable. She was patient, supportive, and really took the time to understand my specific goals. She never made me feel rushed or self-conscious, which was incredibly important to me. Each session built upon the last, and over the course of six months, I noticed significant improvements in my speech. It wasn’t just about correcting a lisp, it was about gaining confidence in how I communicate.
Beyond Speech Therapy exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff was always friendly and professional, and I never had to wait for my appointment. Jenna’s expertise and approach made the experience both effective and enjoyable. Looking back, I only wish I had started this journey sooner. If you’re an adult considering speech therapy but feeling hesitant, I highly recommend Beyond Speech. They create a welcoming environment that truly supports your goals.
Thank you to the team at Beyond Speech, keep up the great work!

Susana and Jenna and the rest of their team are great. They are very supportive to our family. They find ways for both parties’ schedules work. They offer a variety of activities (for single and group) for the kids to grow and prosper. I love these people and for sure the kids love them as well. Thank you, Beyond Speech Therapy Services! I hope you will continue to help those who need your services.
Hazelle Matagay (☆ 5/5)

I am very pleased with the support that our son and we ourselves have received from Beyond Speech Therapy Services. They have provided us with useful and practical strategies that have helped increase our son’s ability to communicate. We have also received support beyond just speech. Through them, our son has been able to receive support from a therapy aid as well as participate in small group experiences with other children his age where he has been able to practice the skills he is learning with peers.
The therapists are wonderful, knowledgeable, and flexible. They work together with parents as a team, to help and support the children.
Sali Galvez (☆ 5/5)

Beyond Speech Therapy is THE place for your kids! Susana and Ben are so kind and really took the time and energy to calm my nerves and reassure me that my son was in safe hands. The whole staff was a pleasure to work with. They were able to answer all of our questions in a timely manner and I would definitely recommend!
Alexandra Isabella (☆ 5/5)

Our family has been blessed to work with several of the clinicians on staff and each experience has been PHENOMENAL. They are patient, empathetic, assertive, fun, creative and highly skilled therapists. My child has made tremendous progress and his confidence is blossoming since our connection with them. We are so thankful for Beyond Speech!

I am VERY thankful to find Susana as an SLP to work with my brother. Already from the first session my brother learned new skills to communicate and bonded with her!! She is very patient and passionate about her work. As well for managing group sessions such as music therapy for kiddos which improves their social skills and communication skills! That is something I truly appreciate since it’s difficult to find beneficial group activities! She accommodates the family’s schedules when it comes to booking sessions and throughly communicates the steps to achieve goals for the kiddo! I truly admire the way she works with my brother and how much she cares to set up my brother for success!! You would be veryyy lucky to have Susana and her team part of your child’s journey!

We hired Anna Kommes to help my son with his speech issues and she was incredible. She was always professional, kind, calm, and knowledgable. I was especially impressed at how she was willing to go above and beyond what was expected to meet our needs. Our son made great strides working with Anna and I will continue to recommend her to anyone who needs assistance with speech issues.

The time that Kate and the team spend making sure you are matched with the most compatible person for you, and the tools supplied to make sure you are set up for success before, during and after each session has been incredible. They truly do support wellness, and I am so grateful to have had these people on my team, especially over the last two years!

I saw Erica for the electro equiscope treatment and it was a really great experience. I booked the appointment wanting to try it, but not knowing what I was looking for. She used the equiscope orally and it confirmed/helped with issues I knew that I already had. She also used the equiscope on my neck and shoulders which are very tight and I don’t have much motion tilting my head. After the treatment, I had much more range and everything felt more loose. I would highly recommend Erica and this treatment. She is a healer and has a great presence. You will feel incredible after you see Erica.

My daughter Claire has been to many different SLP’s over the last couple of years and we are so thrilled that we have found Anna Kommes. We have all seen a huge amount of progress in Claire’s speech since working with Anna and are beyond grateful to her.

Trent didn’t just teach our twin boys to read—he gave them a future we were told wasn’t possible. When specialists and teachers told us they would likely never read, it was heartbreaking. His patience, expertise, and persistence filled in the gaps. We worked with 9 speech therapists prior to Trent without knowing what the root cause of why they couldn’t remember letter names or new words. Trent diagnosed them both with severe language disorder and had a plan for treatment. Once reading skills started to emerge in grade 5, the growth was fast and they both caught up to peers by grade 6. I’m overjoyed to share they no longer qualify for a reading disability. Watching them grow and succeed has been nothing short of a miracle, and we’ll always be grateful to Trent for making that possible.
Shelley H (☆ 5/5)

Trent is very passionate about teaching reading and writing and loves helping his clients. My daughter was struggling and recently diagnosed with multiple learning disabilities and she excelled so quickly working with Trent. I was so impressed with the many different approaches Trent took to teach and made it very fun for my daughter.
Christin Friesen (☆ 5/5)

Our son has made incredible progress in both his confidence and reading skill since working with Trent in a short time period. His approach is research based, personalized and highly effective. Our experience with Trent at Speak2Read has exceeded all our expectations and we would enthusiastically recommend him to anyone struggling with reading.
The Chase’s (☆ 5/5)

Our 7 year old son struggles with reading. His teachers from kindergarten to grade 2 encouraged us to continue reading daily with him. We noticed daily reading was not improving his ability to read and his confidence was diminishing. We took it upon ourselves to seek out a professional to complete an assessment for our son. We are incredibly grateful to have found Trent. Our son completed a 2.5 hour assessment with Trent, which revealed numerous areas of struggle for our son. This confirmed our suspicions that his challenges would require professional help beyond our ability and knowledge. Trent is absolutely amazing in so many ways. He is patient and positive with our son even when our son is moody and having a difficult time focusing. Trent finds ways through his many tools in his toolbox to engage with our son resulting in a positive experience and outcome every session. Trent is incredibly knowledgeable in the area of reading. He has studied different methods and is up to date on research. During my son’s once per week Zoom session with Trent, we as parents also learn by listening and watching the tools and techniques Trent incorporates into his session. He follows up by sending us activities to print out to continue the work with our son during the next 6 days in between sessions. This is definitely a collaborative approach between Trent and us in that helping our son learn to read takes more than just a 1 hour professional session per week. It takes dedication and perseverance from us as well. Trent is very organized and punctual bringing to each session a plan and activities using various methods and tools that keep our son engaged. Honestly, we have so many positive things to say about Trent. We truly encourage others to seek out his help even if it is just a 30 minute consult regarding your concerns. Our son has made significant progress in the areas of decoding (including phonics and structural analysis), vocabulary, and fluency. Most of all, his confidence is growing!
Greg & Kim Smith (☆ 5/5)

We have been bringing our daughter to see Trent for just over a year now, and have seen a big improvement in her reading, understanding and confidence. He is very patient and has lots of fun games to make learning fun. With COVID we were able to continue our meetings over zoom with no issues at all. I am able to sit in on the sessions, which allows me to see what they are working on, so I can help her out at home in between meetings.
Shauni Swirp (☆ 5/5)

Trent is an incredible speech therapist who not only is engaging and works well with active higher need children, but also incredibly educated. His assessment went further in depth to include to the shape of our child’s mouth, potential causes and outcomes that address more than just outward speech, but internal literacy and how the mouth and brain are impacted, potential outcomes and different options to address all aspects regarding our child’s speech and development.
I really appreciate how he seems to go above and beyond and truly understands and explains in laymen’s terms how to best help our child.
The office itself is clean and has plenty of free parking and is handicap accessible.
Rebekah L (☆ 5/5)

Trent did a great job of teaching us as parents how we can encourage our daughter to speak. We left our first meeting feeling really encouraged and motivated. I can’t wait to see the results that I know will happen quickly now that we have the right tools.

«Grateful» doesn’t begin to describe how I feel! I’m a single mom and never seem to have enough time for anything, lol. When I found MLSLS, it was a tremendous help and relief!
I’ve been working with Maple Leaf Speech and Language Services for about 2.5 years now. My son is almost nine years old and it’s incredible to see the transformation he has made. He looks forward to the sessions now and is constantly improving, using the things he learns every time he meets with Sonja.
Sonja is always so happy and friendly, she’s always onetime and so processional. But at the same time, she now feels like a part of our family!
I would highly recommend Maple Leaf Speech and Language Services.
Juanita Brandt (☆ 5/5)

Maple Leaf is awesome! Our son has been getting therapy for 3 years now. He looks forward to playing games with Sonja & Jennifer, even though it can be very hard for him to pronounce words correctly and speak in full sentences. But, he keeps trying every session and is making great progress! We’re so happy happy to have found them. They work with your schedule and give homework that a parent can actually help with

Review
Way back 2018, I was checking on the internet for the best speech therapy services for my son who has a cochlear implant due to bilateral profound hearing loss. I came across Maple Leaf website and read everything – content, reviews etc. Impa is very much knowledgeable, compassionate and accommodating especially with our concerns. She was so kind to know and assess what’s the best program for my son. She has also given us the best therapist for him, Sonja. I can still remember how my son started without any words to say, he was very shy and felt indifferent. Now, Sonja is his best friend. They get along so well that he’s very comfortable to say or express anything – words, phrases, comments, basic sentences. She has a very friendly approach and focuses on his interest (games ) while incorporating the lessons or goal for the day. He’s always looking forward for their session and to simply see her. My son has certainly improved a lot. I can attest how his program helped him to communicate verbally and advocate for himself. We can’t wait for the day when we will both achieve our goals for my son. And, I can still see Sonja beside him . Thank you so much Maple Leaf, we are very grateful. You have given so much care and hope for parents like us. All the best!

So thankful to have received so much support and help from Maple Leaf Speech Services. My son is reading better, we no longer have daily homework battles, he now enjoys reading and his confidence at school has improved. Impa evaluated him during our first session and Sonja comes weekly to work on developing his reading skills. Impa implemented a learning plan that is tailored to my son and has been highly effective. Sonja is an absolute pro and a joy to be around. She puts my son at ease, provides fun and challenging reading exercises and gives him such great encouragement. I can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience with Maple Leaf Speech Services. The sessions are also claimable under our health benefits which is an added bonus. We’re so grateful to have two such caring professionals helping us through our reading challenges.

We have been getting speech therapy from Maple leaf speech for a while now and our child quite enjoys seeing them and looks forward to her next session. The therapists come with all the equipments and games and treatment plans so it’s easy to follow and work on the topic until the next treatment. They’re flexible with scheduling and has been wonderful support for my child. They’re great at explaining what they’re working on, including the parent and how to continue working on it with your child at home. I have found Sonja to be exceptionally knowledgeable and lovely to work with. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get speech therapy.

We would highly recommend Maple Leaf. Impa was extremely knowledgeable and Emily was so good at working with our son to not only getting him speaking but help him catch up to his age group. They were very easy and flexible to work with. Without their help and guidance I don’t know if our son would be anywhere close to the level of speaking he is at now.

You can also search online directories and professional organizations like the Speech-Language & Hearing Association of Alberta (SHA). Always verify the therapist’s credentials and experience.
What is the difference between articulation and language disorders?

This includes actively participating in home practice activities, reinforcing skills learned in therapy, and creating a supportive and encouraging environment. Regular communication with the therapist is also essential to understand progress and strategies.
What should I do if I suspect my child has a speech or language delay?
If you have concerns about your child’s speech or language development, it’s important to discuss them with your pediatrician or family doctor.
