This is my go-to car wash every time I head to Costco, super convenient location!
The facility is big, clean, and well-maintained, with double bays that let two cars wash side by side and double double per bay. There are loads of wash options to choose from, whether you’re just doing a quick rinse or going all in with the extras. You can pay easily with either card or coins, and they even have a subscription plan if you’re a regular.

I really appreciate the large parking lot out front where you can take your time drying or detailing your car, plenty of room and no rush. The whole place always looks tidy and well-kept, which gives it a professional and trustworthy vibe.

The only downside is the layout at the exit: if the car in front of you is still finishing up and you’re done in the back spot, there’s not a lot of room to back out. You either have to wait or ask the folks in line outside to move and let you through. It could be more efficient with a bit more space between the bay entrance and the waiting line.

Still, overall a great spot. Definitely worth checking out if you want a reliable wash with good options!

Best Car Wash in NW Calgary!
Clean facility with plenty of space to move around. The wash cycle runs properly with strong water pressure and good quality soap. Everything feels well-maintained and efficient. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a reliable and thorough car wash in the area!

I came here for a wash and the service was really good. I had a problem with the soap, but the worker here at Royal Oak Car Wash, his name is Sam, he helped me right away and fixed it in seconds. He also had a really good attitude. I definitely recommend this place.

It’s good, but you’ll need to self-wash a couple times before getting used to doing it efficiently. Watching a YT video in advance was helpful if it’s your first time. I like that I could use the credit card directly at the machine. It places a $15 hold per swipe. You need to press “stop” if you finish early so it doesn’t charge you the full $15.

I recently visited Royal Oak Wash and left feeling incredibly frustrated by the inefficient setup. The carwash features five or six sets sets of one-way entrances, each leading to two wash bays. While the design might seem functional on paper, it’s actually a frustrating gamble in practice.

You have to be lucky enough to pick the right entrance because each line moves at a different pace. Unfortunately, I ended up in a lineup where one user occupied the wash bay for nearly 30 minutes, completely holding up our line. There’s no staff oversight or system in place to prevent someone from hogging a bay for an unreasonable amount of time.

The lack of time limits or monitoring is a huge flaw. It’s incredibly frustrating to be stuck waiting while other lines move along smoothly. This setup turns what should be a quick stop into a stressful guessing game.

The car wash seriously needs to rethink their approach. Implementing reasonable time limits or having staff occasionally monitor the flow would make a world of difference. Until that happens, I’d suggest avoiding this place on busy unless you’re willing to roll the dice and hope for the best.

It’s always good. Ever since the crow child carwash went down hill I’ve been coming to this location. It’s a bit out of the way for me though.. but cost about the same as everywhere else. And it’s about as busy as others two. Place is new ish so everything works. The crow child place (likely different owner) needs a complete over haul. Wish they would invest the money because it’s in the perfect spot. For me.

Their pricing structure appears reasonable, and the availability of multiple bays is a definite plus for those wanting a self-service approach. It’s a convenient choice for a quick and reliable car cleaning.

Good to clean car mats and wheels but:
1. I paid for super duper diddle doo shampoo and the car was still dusty in the end. You can say I didn’t use any brush to clean it. Yes. I didn’t because:
2. I paid for rinse(3 minutes), Vacuum(5 minutes) and shampoo(3 minutes) 17$ total and it would be worthless to pay more.
3. Vacuum doesn’t work normally.

Right after that I just went to Coop touch less at wash for 17$ and it did much better. Same money, less time.

I had an amazing experience here! The staff is super friendly, and the service is top-notch. My car came out sparkling inside and out – they really pay attention to the details, from the shiny exterior to the spotless interior. The equipment is state-of-the-art, and they use eco-friendly products, which I love. Prices are reasonable, and I was in and out quickly without sacrificing quality. Highly recommend this place if you want your car treated like royalty!

I visited this car wash during my trip to Calgary and had a great experience! It’s a small, independently owned business, and you can really tell they take customer service seriously. The owner was incredibly sweet and welcoming, and the staff did an excellent job with my car. They were helpful and detail-oriented throughout. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a thorough car wash with a personal touch or you want self serve car wash.

Great car wash offering a solid experience with a clean, well-maintained facility. It features four separate garages for washing, a variety of cleaning options, and convenient vacuum cleaners. At just $2 per wash (1:36 mins), it’s an affordable choice, and they also accept debit cards for easy payment. Overall, it’s a practical and efficient option for keeping your car looking good.

Overall a great 365 day car wash. I would recommend visiting Associated if you are looking for a 24-hour wand wash.

The water pressure is strong, and the soaps are always filled, and the water is warm. Vacuum & drying hose inside the wash bays. Wifi on site and a change machine that supplies bills to change and $0.25 coins to $1.00 coins. Shampoo & vacuum machine works well. The shampoo hose has both spot clean and shampoo options. Tire shine and scent machine is also available. The scent machine has wild cherry and new car scents, but the new car scent has been empty for a long time.

My only complaints would be that it’s a little expensive, I think $1.00 is equal to about 1.5 mins, and the bay doors are almost never closed. Last winter, there were a few times I went at night, and the heaters were off, and the bay door was open, making my washes very uncomfortable. If the wash bay exit doors can close, why not keep them closed all the time?

***UPDATE***
Since posting this review, every time I’ve visited, the “EXIT” door has been closed. The experience is much more pleasant without the wind tunnel the bays create. I appreciate the changes! While visiting today, the water was very cold. Because there’s no snow, ice and salt on the street I don’t notice a huge difference in comparison with a wash that has hot water. During the months that we experience snow, ice, and salt, and I wash my car with cold water, during towel drying, my towels get dirty! It would be amazing if this wash used hot/warm water during the winter months. I do and will continue to support this business!

This is the best car wash in the neighborhood. Every time you come here, you leave with a sense of familiarity rather than just a receipt. The equipment is top-notch, including a brush for those with older cars who aren’t as worried about the paint – it gets your car super clean without needing extra gear. The staff is incredibly friendly, and you can easily change your bills to coins here, so not having coins isn’t a problem. Plus, it’s open twenty-four hours, which is super convenient. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

Mint Smartwash presents as a convenient option for vehicle cleaning, offering a regularly scheduled maintenance service for car owners. The automated process seems efficient, potentially saving time compared to traditional hand washes. It’s crucial, however, to carefully evaluate the membership tiers and associated limitations before committing, ensuring they align with individual usage patterns.

Potential customers should be aware that service consistency might vary, and a thorough understanding of the terms and conditions is paramount. Scrutinize the fine print related to vehicle coverage and wash frequency to avoid unexpected charges or restrictions. It appears customer satisfaction is closely tied to understanding the nuances of the subscription model.

Went through carwash with my monthly membership. It seized all power and shut off completely 4 different times while I was inside the car wash, nobody else was in there with me. I went through the car wash again as it says a 110% satisfactory or wash again. I talked to the tenant and said That there were still dirt grime all over my car from the car wash and that I also didn’t receive the package I got originally where it had the colorful nice smelling soap that should have been used on the car. They put my car through a second time. It yet again did not wash my car properly there was grime everywhere. And didn’t have the good smelling soap. I was running late for an appointment already, so I just left. I am definitely not happy with my experience at all.

Edit: to follow up, they added insult to injury by supposedly “successfully processing” my cancellation, then still charging me next month for the full price. I will be filing a chargeback on my credit card.

The staff members working the front are generally quite nice but that’s really the only positive here. Otherwise it’s just recurring revenue bait for a mediocre service, like many things these days.

The wash leaves bodywork indeed very shiny but the brushes do not get enough time to properly clean and often miss spots in crevices and rarely cleans glass properly. Even after a rewash there’s still areas where the brushes visibly grazed but didn’t actually contact enough to clean.

Only the top-tier mint professional plan actually gives the “unlimited washes” they broadly advertise. Otherwise you are limited to one per day and 12 per month, which they don’t disclose anywhere on their plan pages during promos, you have to actually read through T&C.

The plans are also locked to ONE CAR which they also don’t disclose anywhere other than in the fine print. Bought a membership because I own multiple vehicles and thought it would cover me as a user but nope.

Don’t fall for the bait like I did. Read the fine print, with ANY subscription-model service.

Carwash does a subpar job on my truck even with “mud blast.” Constant price increases to their plans but discounts offered to non-members/subscribers. Their scanners for Club Mint seem to intermittently not work resulting in the gates not going up and other vehicles getting into the queue prior to you. They’ve also imposed limits on how many times you can go in a month. Vacuum and drying/detail area are constantly busy causing a traffic jam in their parking lot trying to exit the wash.

Good value with the free vacuum, air, and towel service, but the wash itself is average. I bought the top package and even after going through twice, there were still lots of spots left dirty. Worth it if your car is already clean and you just want to rinse off rain or dust, but not the right choice if your vehicle is genuinely dirty.

Visited this car wash once skeptical of the touch brushing system, left with scratches all along my car.

When I reported it to the manager, he assured an investigation of the incident would be made, and as long as I did not enter the wash with the damage previously, it would be taken care of. What I received? An email stating the incident was “thoroughly roughly reviewed” and attachments of photos of my car entering with no damage and a photo of A DIFFERENT CAR exiting claiming that the car exited with no damage…

I went in person to speak with the manager and was assured the case would be reopened and I would get a call back the next day and I have heard nothing since…

Terrible service model and sloppy scam work…

While it’s not a premium detailing service, for a straightforward wash, it’s a reliable choice. The focus seems to be on providing a basic yet effective service without breaking the bank, making it a popular spot for those needing a budget-friendly car wash.

Very disappointed with this car wash. I paid $13.50, which is almost double what I usually pay elsewhere ($7–8), and the result was terrible. After the wash, I parked to dry the car and noticed it was still covered in fine dust. Clearly, the wash didn’t clean the car properly, and wiping it dry could scratch the paint.

The prices are too high for such poor quality — weak water pressure and ineffective cleaning products. I won’t be coming back and don’t recommend this place to anyone.

The guys that work here are clowns. Been coming here for 20y and for the first time I was told I have to “keep the timer running” when I wipe down my soapy car with a microfiber sponge instead of the scratchy soapy brush. Takes 2min (literally) to wipe my 2 seater car, and I go at 6am when no one else is around. No one was waiting and there was lots of free bays. I wish I didn’t have to wipe at all, but their mild soap leaves it dirty once it dries. Anyone who’s been there with a dark coloured car knows this. If they used even dish soap it’s would clean better. Came over twice to tell me to pay him $2 for the time to wipe the car down. Does Starbucks tell you to get out if the cup isn’t at your lips? Spent $17 on soap, presoak, rinse, and spot free rinse. This wash prints money! What a total goof. Terrible way to treat loyal customers. Will be going to Kings or mile wide from now on.

Not sure If it’s under new ownership but I’ll never take my car back to this wash. Been taking our cars there often for 10 years. I’m washing my car with a hand pit instead of their dirty brush and buddy comes to tell me it’s not allowed, and to go to another car wash if I want to do that. There was no line up. If there was I’d understand. He said the time has to be running. Anyone with a brain. Knows not to use those brushes as it damages the paint. I suggest going to Mike Wide car wash or Kings car wash where they don’t bother you.

Came here to vacuum my car and then spray it down hit stop on the machine and it charged my card 25$ when I only used 5$ . Tapped card again to wash my car and used 7$ hit stop on machine like it says and charged another 25$ with no correction back to my card. Also don’t use the clear coat protection. I literally paid over 1000$ to have my car ceramic coated and after I used that stupid clearcoat protectant my car has lost all it’s hydrophobic properties. Absolutely down right choked. 50$ taken opposed to 12$ on top of what it did to my ceramic coating is absolutely absurd. Avoid this car wash at all costs …

I wish negative stars could be reviewed.
Business that does practice like this should be shut down.

I was KICKED out from cleaning my car after FIVE minutes before I had to spray my car. Barely had time to clean the front seat

The person behind me asked how long and I informed I just was getting started, very rudly he told me to get out of alberta while cleaning. then went to the manager.
This harassment was rewarded by this business owner( a true Canadian shame)

The manager who REFUSED to give me his name only yelled at me and told me to leave.

I asked what I did wrong, where the signs were I was not able to deal my car at the car wash. I was pointed to a random sign with ZERO INFORMATION ABOUT ANY OF THIS and told I was in violation. when I asked why I was shown the sign as clearly not in any violation he then pointed the right to refuse service.
Therefore now I was refused service because of this business owners prejudice.
And for zero infraction.

The owner took up almost 15 minutes of my time in a heated debate in the outrageously most unprofessional manner possible.

Truly I hope he looses his business if he doesn’t care for this paying customer and yells at the people willing to pay and support his operation.

I wish he didn’t shy away from providing a name. With an ego that large and a disposition to displace inappropriate anger towards paying customers is DISAPPOINTING

This truly was the most disappointing experience I have ever had washing a car.

With word of mouth I will make sure all my friends and family are fully aware of these immoral business tactics.

There was zero apology offered and I guarantee I will never support this business again, and continue to share this story with any open ears.

Very very poor job.

Do better

And the very worst part was it was not busy at all

It’s clear they strive for a quick and streamlined experience, appealing to individuals who value speed alongside cleanliness. Automated service is a key strength.

However, the quality of the cleaning can sometimes be inconsistent. There is a need for ensuring the equipment is regularly maintained to avoid potential issues. I come here around once a month, and this time I went the wash did not clean properly. I brought it up to the worker named Chris, and he dismissed my claim. He is saying there’s nothing he can do, and there’s no free washes. Even though I paid money, this car wash is hit or miss. Only go if you want to take a risk of your car not being washed fully and the company not acknowledging that there is an issue with their machine and fixing the problem. I suggest Coop car wash instead!

One-Star Review: Be Careful with the Foam Brushes!
I was here for a full car wash and everything was going fine until I went to rinse my car after using the foam brush. Unfortunately, the brush’s holder couldn’t keep it secure, and the hose for the brush got tangled with the rinse hose. Suddenly, the foam brush fell right onto the hood of my car, leaving a scratch right in the middle. I’m really upset about this.
Please be careful with the foam brushes; they are not mounted securely and are positioned too high. I will not be coming back to this car wash

My ignorant(dumbass) neighbor sprayed my car with hard city tap water from a garden hose. I didn’t notice until I was headed to work the next day nearly 24 hours later. The sun baked the hard water spots into my paint and glass. I knew I had to rewash the car and get the hard water deposits off asap to avoid permanent etching.

I’ve been a wash member at Top Gear for many years and I know the water is soft and the pressure and chemicals in the automatic touch-less wash are powerful. I drove into the touch-less wash for the basic $10 package, as I have done for years, hoping for the best, worried that the water spots may have already etched.

Upon leaving the wash I started examining the windshield for the water spots that were once there, they had disappeared. Once I was able to exit and examine the car, I was skeptical but pleasantly shocked that 99% of the hard water spotting was removed by the automatic touchless wash. Their two step pre soak dissolved the stubborn baked in mineral deposits! Amazing.

Thanks Top Gear for saving my paint!

$22 wash, car comes out wet and dirty.
First time here, was hoping to find a car wash I can ‘subscribe’ to. Opted for the most expensive soft touch car wash to give it a try. From a soft touch, I’m expecting the car to come out CLEAN, cleaner than I’d expect from a touchless. But the results from this soft touch are appalling. The drier in the end did not dry the car at all, came out wet and dirty. I’ve never had a worse experience, and I usually go for touchless options that are cheaper and don’t clean perfectly but still much better than this.

One of the better carwashes in the city for self serve washes. Good size bays, good soap, decent pressure depending on how busy it is. 1+ bay is frequently blocked off causing pretty long back-ups on busy days, and the foam gun is useless most visits. (Very slow to produce soap, and hardly any pressure/consistency when it does)

Poorly operated business! The management is never around and the place is operated by minimum wage earning young people that aren’t paid enough to care.

As a commercial customer we have quite a lot of units that we’d like to keep clean. We believe that looking good is a big part of being out front in business and we strive to be the spiffiest outfit around. This is made difficult when the local wash center is sub par. We have several highway trucks and trailers, a dozen crew cab trucks and several luxury vehicles that we want to keep looking sharp. If it weren’t for the convenient location we wouldn’t bother with this place at all!

The list of deficiencies in this place is long and complaints go unaddressed! See below short list of disappointing conditions at this state of the art facility:
– Tunnel wash is often down, even when it’s not out of order a lot of the features do not work! We pay for the top tier package but get some of the frills some of the time.
– Heavy truck bays are lousy, no hot water, damaged equipment, poorly maintained, the features work sometimes. Our drivers often take twice as long to accomplish the same work due to the second rate maintenance program here at the Great White Wash.
– The passenger wand wash bays have useless tools in them, the hoses have been found to be sheered on the wand and foam brush. When brought to the attention of the attendants, they will look and tell us that it will be corrected. Not true! The pressure in the system drops significantly when all bays are in use, again causing the same work to take a lot longer to accomplish thus costing a lot more than it should in both wash costs and wages to our staff.

When we ask to contact a manager we are given a business card for a lady named Jay who does not answer the phone, does not return calls, does not reply to emails or ever attend the location.

When we complain to the staff at the location, they are always in agreement that the operation is poorly ran and a few have stated that they won’t be there long.

Its all really sad because the facility is really nice and a little more effort and maintenance would go a really long way. Too bad that management doesn’t see the value in pumping things up a little.

Back here again, bought the full price top end great white express automatic wash for $18.11.
Had to go to the Chevron next door to clean my rear windows of soap then saw how shifty a wash the top end wash is. Took the squeegee to wash everything, front middle & rear of where the top end wash didn’t get.
Not worth the price, go with the basic.

Great wash for dirty 4X4’s! The older gentleman who was working here directed me to the big truck bays where there was great pressure for getting all the mud out of the wheel wells! I also forgot to turn off the bat after I left so I called them and he had already caught it and turned it off for me. Great service!

The sprayer doesn’t take the dirt off and the brushes are out of service. I had to wash my semi with my glove. And all the guy said was oh ya that’s tough. I will never waste my time here again.

Going out of business?? All summer there has been less and less product in the machines. Now there is no tire cleaner, foam brush, foam gun, graphene, bug cleaner.

The only options that work is water and soap.

There is financial issues with this business. Anyone on those monthly plans is going to lose big time.

Was there today August 1st at around 7.30pm using the self serve wash, almost finished, when some old staff member comes up to me with an attitude and starts rushing me, asking if I wasn’t done yet with, as there were other people waiting. Meanwhile he’s got only 2 other bays open and I just witnessed them close to rest of the bays…
If there was such a line up of people (only 2 more cars waiting), why close the other bays? Plus not like I was using the bay for free, I pay for my time in there too, guess he was in a rush to go home, even though they suppose to be open till 9pm.

By reading the other reviews, seems like im not the first one to have a run in with this goof.
Like others said, never coming back here.

Happy Bays Car Wash & Detail Centre offers a range of services from basic washes to detailed packages. While some customers rave about the quality and impressive before-and-after results, particularly with scratch removal and stubborn sap, it’s crucial to consider the varied experiences reported. The pricing seems competitive, aligning with market rates, but can be a factor.

It’s important to note concerns regarding service consistency and value. Some reviewers experienced disappointing attention to detail, with issues like uncleaned interiors and missing items. A visit to Happy Bays appears to be a gamble, dependent on the specific package chosen and the day’s staff. Reliability and thoroughness seem to be key areas for improvement.

Truly, so disappointed in my gold detail package today. Happy bays was recommended to me by my daughter so I went a year ago and they did a PERFECT job. Literally, every crack and crevice was cleaned. I have also recommended them to many people. Today when I picked up my vehicle and paid the $313.00 I assumed I would be as impressed as my previous time. But I wasn’t. Such little care and attention was taken that the cup holder hadn’t been cleaned out. Specks of a splashed food remnant on the passenger seat. Dirty interior ledges where the door shuts, water drips all over the outside of the car. And a missing magnetic phone holder that was attached to my left vent. It looked like a good at home cleaning that I could have done. But you guys… that cost me $300 plus. Which was $20 higher than I was quoted when I booked the appointment by the way.
I will say that Katherine, who works at the front was very accommodating. She appeared to be the only one who genuinely cared and sought to remedy the situation by offering for me to return for a touch up appointment As well as offering to order a new phone holder. She was kind and attentive and a rarity in customer service.
I have no desire to drive all the way across town and arrange a ride again and go back after a 10hr workday. I’m not after compensation. I’m hoping to remind the owners of this establishment that we are all out here working hard for our money. So that we can then give you our business to support you. It is deeply disappointing to feel like I’ve wasted my money…more disappointing that I’ve referred you to friends and co workers.
Consistency is the key to success and you’ve missed the mark.

Really great, price right in line with the market but loved the quality, before and after was crazy, took care of an ugly scratch with a spot polish and also handled a bunch of sap that would not budge for the last year. Can’t believe they did everything in a day. The engine clean pictures attach were part of the gold package

Very disappointing experience. The vacuum card reader takes forever to work, and the fees are expensive — I had to pay twice just to properly clean a full-size SUV. The blow dry air stops too early, only reaching about 2/3 of the vehicle length, leaving the 1/3 back completely wet and dripping.

The so-called Ultimate Wash doesn’t feel “ultimate” at all. Since it’s a touch-less wash, the dead bugs on the front bumper were barely removed, and about 30% of the bugs on the windshield were still there after the wash.

Overall, the price doesn’t match the quality. Service feels incomplete, equipment isn’t effective, and the results are poor. Not recommended.

I recently got my car detailed from this place and they did such an amazing job! I don’t even recognize my car . One thing is they do change extra for pet hair that I didn’t see mentioned online ( could have been small
Print I missed) but they were able to basically get it all out of my car !! I had a lot so was not expecting that. Would definitely recommend this place for detailing and will come back

I have gone to Happy Bays multiple times to use the self-serve car wash bays. I have never had any issues and I have always been extremely satisfied.
Recently, I had my vehicle detailed by the staff, and I could not be happier with the result and service. Everyone was extremely helpful and they even over delivered by having the car ready earlier than anticipated. I cannot get over the freshly cleaned smell! Every detail was looked after and my car looks brand new again.
Huge thanks to the entire team!

I had a great experience here — the car wash itself was excellent, with strong soap pressure and a foam cannon that really covered my car for a deep clean, and the inside service was just as impressive thanks to Kenyah and Kaitlyn who were super friendly, welcoming, and made the whole visit feel easy and enjoyable; by the time I left, my car looked amazing and I felt genuinely taken care of, so I’d highly recommend this place

One bay today had a few guys working on their car with all their tools. The other bay had a guy taking all kinds of time detailing his car. The gal ahead of me decided to buff her car in the bay while I waited. I asked her to take the buffing outside, but she didn’t. The overhead doors do not open automatically, and people leave when they’re done and don’t open the door to let the person waiting know that the bay is available. There are better places to go.

Nolan Hill Car Wash offers a convenient and generally well-equipped facility. The bays are spacious, providing ample room to maneuver your vehicle. The water pressure is good, facilitating an effective wash, and it’s a good option for those seeking a self-service car wash. The pre-authorization process is noteworthy, something customers should be aware of prior to using the facility.

While the exterior setup is functional, an enclosed or partially enclosed area would significantly improve the experience, especially during Calgary’s harsh winters. Overall, it provides a practical solution for those seeking a budget-friendly car cleaning, but further improvements to protect from the elements would elevate the offering.

Great new facility with plenty of spots and excellent convenience. The added bonus of a trailer wash makes it even better. I also want to give a special shoutout to Sheri, who went above and beyond to help me when a part of my vehicle accidentally went down the drain while washing. Even though it was my own mistake, he was incredibly supportive and helped me retrieve it. Truly appreciate the kindness and effort—thank you!

I’ve been a regular customer at Nolan Hill Car Wash, usually getting the Rockies Wash for $17. This time, I opted for the Hills Wash at $22 (one of their premium options), and unfortunately, the wash ended up bending my side mirror and scratching it — something that’s never happened in previous visits. I’ve attached photos to show the damage.

While I understand there is a sign stating they are not responsible for damage, I feel a full refund would be more than fair in this situation. I’ve been to this location several times, and it’s disappointing that the most expensive wash caused the most damage.

I’m sharing this review to be transparent with other customers and in hopes that management will consider my concern seriously and reach out with a resolution.

If you want to waste your money, go to this wash station. They have turned off every single coin machine so that people use their credit cards to charge them extra money. Their vacuum machines are always broken. Whenever you complain the staff about vacuum machines, they say that they can adjust them manually to charge the customer extras on their cards.

I recently visited this car wash used auto wash and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The car wash machine did not clean my car properly, leaving soap, dirt and grime in many places. To make matters worse, the staff ( Mr. Virk) were incredibly rude and unhelpful when I brought this to their attention.
I would not recommend this car wash to anyone. There are plenty of other options in the area that offer a better value for your money and a more positive customer service experience.

very unfortunate and unpleasant experience! when they first open it was alright however, it was has gone very downhill. The coin machines ate my change on two separate occasions with no refund and all the card readers barely work, leaving me with a dirty car! will not visit again even though it’s closest to my home. I advise others to drive a bit further for a better experience.

I’ve been to this car wash a few times and I can say every time I go there it’s always something, sometimes the change machine is not working, sometimes the soap is not working, half the options on the machine don’t work so don’t be surprised, sometimes the door won’t open or close, now they closed the change machine and coin option so you have to use your visa because that way they can swindle more of your cash and also so you don’t spend too much time there. Honestly I don’t write a review on first visits and I always give business a chance to prove themselves but this business has no regards for customers service . The owner drops by flaunting in his Lamborghini but doesn’t have the means to service his car wash and do what’s right by his customers. I definitely will not be coming back to this car wash and I don’t recommend anyone going here as well.

I love this place. I saw it advertised when it first opened and decided to stop in. It’s an absolutely perfect setup. Clean Individual stalls, I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes. Often I just drive right in.

The system is simple to use. Tap your credit or debit card it will preauthorize for $20. Then you start spraying off your vehicle. Usually I just do a quick rinse/ soap/ spray and I usually spend $6-$7.

Cheap, clean, easy. What more could you want from a neighborhood car wash.

Overall, it’s a worthwhile option if you’re seeking a detailed and thorough self-serve car wash. While pricing might be a touch higher than some competitors, the spacious bays and quality equipment provide good value for those looking for a superior clean. Just be mindful of time tracking!

Seems to be called Shell Car Wash now, no longer wash king? The facilities and bays are very nice and clean.. great pressure at the nozzle. No foaming wax that I could see?

The overall process is a bit weird.. you just drive in (no tickets or anything), and there is no pay option in the bays you just start washing.. then you drive out to a kiosk before the exit door and they just ask how many minutes you took? Super strange.. maybe would add some posters to remind people to track their start and stop times.

Probably the best self serve car wash Calgary, possibly western Canada. Clean, warm, was open yesterday in -36 (they call it the Wash King for a reason given this level of ultimate reliability no matter what!). Very clean and well maintained. Very large self serve bays and they even have compressed air! However pretty expensive plus the lines never cleared of soap for my spot free rinse and after a few minutes of waiting ($2.50 to wait for clean water?) I switched to normal rinse and I still had to do 1/4 of my car to get fully clean water. It would be much better if not for that.

I had my car washed yesterday at a local car wash and was extremely disappointed with the results. This was my first time using their services, and it will definitely be my last. Not only was the service expensive, but to top it off, my brand new SUV was scratched during the wash.

I was shocked and upset when I noticed the scratches on my car after leaving the car wash. I couldn’t believe that a simple car wash had caused such damage to my vehicle. It was clear that the employees at the car wash were not taking the proper precautions to ensure that customers’ cars were cared for properly.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received and would never recommend this car wash to anyone. It is unacceptable to pay a high price for a service only to have your car damaged in the process. I hope that others can learn from my experience and avoid using this place at all costs.
Never ever recommend !!!!

Catalog of services offered by car washes in Calgary

    Exterior Wash Packages

Most car washes offer a range of exterior wash packages. These generally include a pre-wash soap application, a high-pressure rinse, a soft-cloth wash to remove dirt and grime, a spot-free rinse, and a final air dry. Packages often differ in the inclusion of features like undercarriage washes or tire shines.

    Interior Detailing Services

Beyond a simple wash, many car washes provide interior detailing services. This can include vacuuming carpets and upholstery, cleaning dashboard and console surfaces, wiping down windows and mirrors, and conditioning leather seats. Thorough interior cleaning is crucial for maintaining a fresh and comfortable driving experience.

    Waxing and Sealing Options

Protecting a vehicle's paintwork is paramount. Car washes offer waxing and sealing options which apply a protective layer to the paint, guarding against UV damage, environmental contaminants, and minor scratches. Different types of wax and sealant provide varying levels of protection and shine.

    Undercoating and Rust Protection

Given Calgary’s climate, undercoating and rust protection are valuable services. This involves applying a protective coating to the vehicle's undercarriage, which is especially vulnerable to salt and moisture. This helps prevent corrosion and prolong the life of the vehicle.

    Headlight Restoration

Over time, headlights can become cloudy or yellowed, reducing visibility. Car washes often provide headlight restoration services, which use specialized cleaning compounds and techniques to restore clarity and improve headlight performance. This is vital for safe driving.

Businesses with multiple vehicles often require fleet washing services. Car washes can cater to businesses by providing efficient and cost-effective cleaning solutions for company vehicles, ensuring a professional appearance and maintaining vehicle value.

Frequently Asked Questions about Car Washes in Calgary

What types of car washes are available in Calgary?

Calgary offers a variety of car wash options. You're likely to find tunnel car washes where your vehicle moves along a conveyor belt, self-serve car washes where you clean the car yourself, and hand wash car washes where professionals clean your vehicle by hand. There are also options for mobile detailing services that come directly to you. The best choice depends on your preferences and budget.

How much do car washes typically cost in Calgary?

The cost of a car wash in Calgary varies depending on the type of wash and the amenities offered. A basic tunnel wash can range from $10 to $20, while a hand wash or detailing service can cost significantly more, potentially reaching $100 or more. Self-serve washes often charge by the minute. Comparing prices is always a good idea.

Are there any car washes that are open year-round in Calgary?

Yes, many car washes in Calgary are open year-round. However, some seasonal self-serve washes might close during the colder months. It’s a good practice to check the operating hours of the specific car wash you plan to visit, especially during the winter. Many tunnel washes offer heated buildings for comfort.

What are the environmental concerns related to car washes?

Traditional car washes can raise environmental concerns due to water usage and the disposal of wastewater. Modern car washes are increasingly employing water recycling systems and using eco-friendly soaps to minimize their environmental impact. Look for car washes with water-saving certifications for a more sustainable option.

Can I use my own soap and cleaning products at a self-serve car wash?

Generally, self-serve car washes allow you to use your own soap and cleaning products. However, some establishments may have restrictions on the types of products permitted due to concerns about damaging equipment or creating environmental hazards. It’s recommended to check the car wash’s policy before using your own supplies.

What is the best way to protect my car's paint during a car wash?

To minimize the risk of paint damage, look for car washes that utilize soft cloth or foam brushes. Avoid car washes that use abrasive brushes or recycled materials. A good quality wax or sealant can also help protect your paint. It's also helpful to remove any large debris from your vehicle's surface before entering a tunnel wash.

How do I choose a reputable car wash in Calgary?

When choosing a car wash, consider factors such as customer reviews, equipment quality, and the cleanliness of the facility. Check online ratings and ask for recommendations from friends or family. A car wash with a long-standing reputation and positive feedback is often a reliable choice.

What are the advantages of a hand wash car wash?

Hand wash car washes offer a higher level of detail and care compared to automatic washes. Professionals use specialized products and techniques to thoroughly clean every surface of your vehicle. They often provide additional services like waxing, tire shining, and interior cleaning. The personalized attention can really enhance the results.

Are there any car washes in Calgary that offer loyalty programs or discounts?

Many car washes in Calgary offer loyalty programs or discounts to reward frequent customers. These programs may offer points, coupons, or special pricing on washes and detailing services. It's worth inquiring about available programs at your preferred car wash. Check for promotions online or through email subscriptions.

What should I do if I notice any damage to my car after a car wash?

If you notice any damage to your car immediately after a car wash, report it to the car wash management as soon as possible. Document the damage with photographs and retain any receipts or records. The car wash may have procedures in place to address damage claims and offer compensation.
