Customer Reviews
I had a great experience at the clinic. The Staff are very friendly and helpful with all my questions and made me feel comfortable during the procedure. During the procedure we had casual conversation that kept me calm and made the whole experience very easy!
Tyler Ames (☆ 5/5)

My quality of life had taken a significant downturn since my procedure at Intramed. I’d been experiencing chronic, nonstop pain and tingling since my vasectomy on March 3rd. What was meant to be a simple and routine procedure had led to ongoing discomfort that’s disrupted my daily life and required ongoing pain management and alternative treatments coordinated through my family doctor.
To be clear, the booking process was easy and efficient, and the staff were professional. The physician performing the procedure was assertive and straightforward. While his bedside manner wasn’t exactly warm or nurturing, it wasn’t offensive. Just more clinical than compassionate.
Before the procedure, I clearly communicated that I had an inguinal hernia repair in 2019, which had complications and resulted in intermittent groin and abdominal pain. I raised concerns about whether the vasectomy might aggravate that issue. I was told that there was no risk of aggravation. Unfortunately, since the procedure with Intramed, the pain increased from a 4/10 irritant to 8/10 spikes and pins-and-needles in my groin. It had not let up for more than 2 hours on any given day, and it’d been 4 months. When I called the clinic, I was told to ‘keep an eye on it’ and come in if it got worse.
Forgive me that I wasn’t reassured by that response, nor the follow-up test which failed to confirm the success of the vasectomy (doctor’s nurse ruled it was inconclusive). I also had to call to get the results from them (took 1 week) but impatiently found ChatGPT’s reading of my results of MyHealth Alberta to confirm motility numbers. At this time, Intramed told me I needed to repeat the testing but didn’t provide a referral or even a sample cup until I conducted my own follow-up call. Had to be looking out for myself in this regard.
I understand that medical procedures carry risks, but I also believe in the importance of thorough pre-op conversations and responsive post-op care. In my case, I’ve been left with ongoing complications and received no clear path forward from the clinic that performed the procedure. My family doctor has helped me manage condition that grossly escalated, and to anyone reading this, the following remedies have been a miracle in addressing the pain:
– Zinc Picolinite (25mg)
– Lysine (1,000mg)
– Gabapentin (300mg)
– Also investigating Acetyl-L-Carnitine + Alpha-Lipoic Acid.
This review isn’t meant to be vindictive — it’s to share an honest experience in the hope that others ask all the right questions and feel fully heard before moving forward. I wish I had received more attentive care both before and after my procedure, but had to handle it on my own.
2 stars, mainly because I found my own resolution.
Colyn DeGraaff (☆ 2/5)

There’s no other way to describe my experience, it was fantastic.
Dr van der Merwe and is staff were absolutely perfect!
The procedures I had done have changed my life for the better in every way.
James B (☆ 5/5)

This place is great if you need a vasectomy! Dr. Van Der Merwe and his staff are awesome; I can’t recommend them enough. Thanks for the painless procedure and being so friendly!
Cody James (☆ 5/5)

Experience was great! Procedure with Dr. Van Der Merwe was super quick and virtually painless. Virtually no pain afterwards and three weeks out! Love that they include a care package with refreshments, ice pack, bandaids and Tylenol/Advil – it’s an extra cost item but absolutely well worth it! If you’re looking to get a vasectomy done, definitely recommend Intramed!
Rob Mock (☆ 5/5)

Every single person I interacted with here were so nice and helpful. They made sure to answer any questions I had, and made sure I was comfortable. Absolutely recommend this clinic!
Charles Brown (☆ 5/5)

100% recommended literally no pain and done in 10 mins or less ,great staff and great after care. Thank you intramed.

Great service, very professional. They make you feel really comfortable and give you plenty of information. I like the care package they sent me home with, it had information, pain pills, a humorous ice pack and other goodies for your recovery.
The procedure was really quick and Dr. Filion was a great person to deal with. I had plenty of information before going into the procedure as I had 2 over the phone consultations, with one being with Dr. Filion.
These guys are the balls!
John Betancourt (☆ 5/5)

Whole experience was built for a 5 star review. It’s like the owners said «how can we make this process slick, informative and simple?» with every decision.
Videos, FAQ, emails, in person. All of it was professional without feeling stuffy and relaxing without feeling sketchy. They were both so lovely that it makes me wish I had some more vas to snip!
Adam McRae (☆ 5/5)

If I can leave a 0 star I would. All our schedule from work to school has been ruined!!!
GET YOUR EXPLANATION WELL DETAILED OR AT LEAST NOTIFY US
Last week on Thursday Doctor cancelled his appointment. No explanation and called us that very morning to notify doctor is sick. Couldn’t you call yesterday to notify us at least?!? Nothing?!?
If you would have made it clear at the phone that my son in the first place needs to wait 4-6months circumsicion last week when the Doctor got sick we wouldn’t had made so much effort for this [*inaudible* appointment in the whole first place and we waited 3-5months to get an appointment. And then we have to wait another 4-6months again?!?
Awful & Corrupted System You Have!!!

I have had my TURP surgery with Dr. Bhindi last week. I’m so pleased with the result. NO pain, no irritation and am recovering well. I highly recommend him
shadan kayvan (☆ 5/5)

Stay away from Dr Hydman he is a very poor urologist tgat definitely does not put his patients first. He’s there for the money that’s about it. I had to give 1 star but honestly if 9 stars were available that’s what he would get.
Doreen Thibert (☆ 1/5)

Horrendous, I have so many words to describe how this clinic doesn’t care about their patients at all.
My Dad has passed now and due to their lack of care or concern would have been with us for longer and with a better quality of life. They don’t return calls. They don’t see patients on time. They don’t give them their medication if they are in a hospital bed in the same hospital the clinic is in. They don’t send referrals to the cancer clinic when that is their job to do so. They don’t request scans until emergency doctors demand them or you personally offer to pay for them. If you care about your loved one read these reviews and go elsewhere. I wish I would have read these reviews sooner and now it’s too late.
Candice Mills (☆ 1/5)

I just say enough good things about the treatment I received at this facility. The staff was kind compassionate and very competent. Dr Bhindi gave a thorough evaluation of my case so we knew what the situation was Surgery went great and I am incredibly grateful for the care I was provided by the amazing team of nurses and doctors
Karen Simpson (☆ 5/5)

Worst experience I’ve ever had, I went to this clinic by recommendation. For something that seems to be affecting something, that has nothing to do with my urinary track.
The doctor saw me for less than 5 minutes, did 0 test, squeezed this area, and sent me home with a perception for antibiotics.
They did not put in any care to do any real testing, no blood sample, no urine sample, no samples or swabs of any kind.
I have no clue how they can call themselves specialists, when they don’t even put in any effort to figuring out the issue, and coming up with any real solution. I still have this problem to today’s date. Would have given 0 stars if I could have.
Austin Andrew (☆ 1/5)

When will criteria change to enable «-*» reviews? The industry benefits from «pee business». They deem themselves semi-Gods and Gods. I am aging. I have my problems. They set an appointment. I take day off. I twisted my plans. They rescheduled a week before it comes. I take a second day off. Then rescheduled again. Without questions. I take another day off. On a third attempt my employer looks at me very strange. I have no answer. They rescheduled for the fourth time. I ignored. They sent me 100$ payment request. That was 5 years ago. I have ignored them completely since. Family doctor sent the request last Christmas again. They scheduled for June. Confirmation comes three times with last one on May 21. But on May 29 I got the letter – rescheduled. It has been rescheduled for the date when I have 12000$ trip to Europe. I will call them and if they do not pick up I will politely wish them that the parts of their own bodies that are responsible for the corresponding functions dried out and fell into the toilet bowl one day. And all I will tell them then will be: «Ups!» I do not know of any other breed of parasites more dangerous than Canadian urologists and lawyers. Maybe I should call Orkin exterminators… Because department of health seem to be unrelated to health at all…
Dmitriy Kits (☆ 1/5)

We showed up to my Dad’s appointment yesterday and they said appointment has been cancelled! We were like WHAT? So don’t trust the emails you receive from them confirming the appointment and btw if you ever want to get a hold of someone, its almost impossible. They then booked us a month and half away and told us to call a week before to confirm the appointment, when I told her you guys don’t pick up the phone anyways, she HAD NO ANSWER! I just wish someone is held accountable. Cut short his vacation, and took a day off work to drive him to his appointment just to be told the appointment has been cancelled, and no damn notification from them cancelling the appointment!

Our son was diagnosed with a 3 cm bladder stone that needs to be removed. He was diagnosed 2 months ago and he has been waiting for surgery to remove the stone. He was told that the doctor was booking in to January, but he could be put on a cancellation list. Our son is quadriplegic and is having lots of discomfort. He has called and left messages with the receptionists to see if someone could call him back and no one has returned his call ! He deals with so much on a daily basis and the last thing he needs to deal with is pain and discomfort. Why can’t the doctors realize he needs the surgery so he can get on with life. He has cancelled several outings because of his pain. As his Mother , I am not very Happy with his treatment. The doctors may be good and well qualified, but show some compassion !!
DEBBIE Lindemann (☆ 2/5)

My wife, who is pregnant, had an appointment with Dr. Donghan (Sam) Sohn. She arrived just five minutes late, but the receptionist was extremely rude and threatening, ultimately throwing her out.
Given her condition, their actions were not only arrogant but also dangerous and reckless. They intimidated her to the point of tears. It was so distressing that nurses from another office stepped in to help, offering her water and a place to sit.
Parsa Sadeghi (☆ 1/5)

I initially had high hopes when I started seeing Dr. Wellman. The first two appointments went well—it seemed like she was genuinely interested in finding a treatment plan that would work for me. However, after the first two treatments didn’t work, it felt like she stopped trying. My symptoms are being dismissed, and I feel like nothing is being done to actually help me.
I had to push for further action last year when I insisted on another test, only to be booked for something that was months away. When I ask her what she thinks could be wrong, she just says she doesn’t know. When I ask about other potential tests or options, she again says she doesn’t know. It’s shocking and disheartening to feel this level of dismissal from a doctor, someone I trusted to advocate for my health.
As a Black woman, I’m acutely aware of how often people like me are ignored or misdiagnosed, only to later discover—sometimes too late—that something serious was overlooked. I don’t want to become another statistic. I expect a doctor to be proactive and thorough, especially when I’m clearly still experiencing symptoms. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been my experience here.
Oasis Linen (☆ 1/5)

Incredibly unprofessional and unreachable customer service on the admiratives side. If you have options to go somewhere else, do so. They don’t answer phones or return messages.
A Vesia doctor referred to me a physio therapist in the Vesia clinic. I have called and left messages MULTIPLE times over the span of THREE weeks, they have not answered or returned any of them.
If medical professionals and their staff are not organized enough to answer the phone, I cannot imagine the quality of care I would have received be receiving from a clinic like this.

I went in to see RUMI for pelvic floor rehabilitation
She is AMAZING!
Her knowledge about the entire pelvic floor is unmatched, and you can tell she is passionate about her job. She was super friendly and kind, and really keen on helping me with where i am at.
I would recommend her to anyone who struggles with pelvic floor issues, and she is worth the wait!
Sharon Parmar (☆ 5/5)

I have had exceptional service here! Their front line staff are nice, considerate, and helpful. Their nurses are skilled and caring. Dr Richard Baverstock is my surgeon and I have total trust in his knowledge and skill. I had to be there a lot over 18 months and am so grateful they have been there for me.
Bill Fric (☆ 5/5)

After 5 sessions I had zero improvement and instead of trying something else, I was told to just stop coming. I don’t expect the first thing to work, but surely we can try something else instead of charging me ~$100 for a session to just tell me to stop coming? Since then I had much better success elsewhere. Even watching YouTube stretching videos provided more relief. Please save your time and money and see another clinic.
They’re also fully booked or the pt just doesn’t work that much and will only book you 1-1.5 months apart for a session. Why take on new patients if that’s the case?
