Customer Reviews
I’ve had such a great experience at Barre West! I started with their Mom and Baby Pilates class when I was about seven months postpartum, and it is the perfect way to ease back into gentle movement after having a baby. The class is welcoming, relaxed, and thoughtfully designed for new moms. I really appreciated that the babies are not just allowed but genuinely welcome—and that the instructors keep the door open for late arrivals, which, as any new mom knows, is incredibly helpful.
The class offers lots of modifications, which I found great. Personally, I had already returned to regular exercise by the time I joined, so it was a bit on the easier side for me, but still very enjoyable and a wonderful way to get out of the house with baby in tow.
Since then, I’ve been taking their Monday Ass & Abs class, and I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s been absolutely fantastic for helping me rebuild strength and re-establish that vital mind-muscle connection, especially in areas affected by pregnancy. I’ve felt real progress from these classes.
The instructors at Bar West are knowledgeable and attentive, offering clear form cues and always making sure everyone is moving safely and effectively. I’ve been to fitness classes elsewhere where people are doing entirely different things and the instructor doesn’t say a word—not the case here, which I really appreciate. They also provide options to make movements both easier and more challenging, all while maintaining a supportive and body-positive environment.
The studio itself has a great vibe, and the front desk staff are always friendly and welcoming. I genuinely look forward to every class. Highly recommend!

I’m currently in the trial period at Barre West, and I absolutely love these classes! From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by a vibrant energy and an uplifting atmosphere that makes each workout enjoyable. The instructors are incredibly motivating and create a supportive environment that encourages you to push your limits.
I’ve already started to feel a noticeable difference in my strength and flexibility after just a few sessions. The combination of Pilates, barre techniques, and energetic movements really targets those hard-to-reach muscles, and I can feel my body becoming stronger and more toned.
If you’re looking for a new training outlet that combines fun with effective workouts, I highly recommend giving Barre West a try. It’s been a fantastic addition to my fitness routine, and I can’t wait to see how much more progress I can make!
Hala Taleb (☆ 5/5)

Barre West is absolutely amazing! The Pilates classes are both challenging and rewarding, with instructors who are incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and attentive to form. The studio has such a welcoming and motivating atmosphere, making every class a great experience. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, the workouts are designed to push you while still being accessible. I always leave feeling stronger and more energized. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great workout and a supportive community!
Mikayla Austin (☆ 5/5)

Doing the mom + Baby classes has been a game changer for my post partum recovery journey! Very grateful to be welcomed into a community that is so kind and supportive. I love that the mom + baby classes are flexible. I can show up late, leave early, feed and change my baby, in a judgment free environment! And meet some cool moms. When I go back to work I will get getting a membership!
Frankie Talbot (☆ 5/5)

I started coming to Barre West earlier this year and it continues to be the highlight of my workout routine! The instructors really care about getting to know you by name and seeing you improve. The workouts are challenging and fun every week, especially Booty church on Sundays. I look forward to going every week!
Sarah Sheedy (☆ 5/5)

I have tried a few different studios in Calgary, and when I attended Barre West, I knew it was my place. I’m a bit on the introverted side, and really find going to work out alone nerve wracking, ESPECIALLY joining new studio. Not Barre West. Immediately, I felt welcome. The staff, the community – the whole space is inviting and put me at ease.
I have been going regularly for almost 6 months, and it has become more than a fitness studio. It’s done wonders for my wellness as a whole, both body and mind. It’s quickly become one of my favourite places and I feel excite to go and incredible when I leave.
If you’re look for a FUN, welcoming fitness experience, do yourself a favour and try a class!
Robyn Weatherly (☆ 5/5)

think I’ve finally found the perfect place for my body and soul! The 50-minute classes are full of energy, guided by a vibrant and supportive instructor. Every session leaves me feeling stronger and more uplifted. I started with a 2-week unlimited pass, loved every moment of it, and I’m absolutely planning to keep coming back! 🙂

I can’t say enough good things about my experience working with Christine at Jensen Fitness!
I have been working with Christine virtually for over a year now and have learnt so much from her. I love having all of my workouts planned out and personalized for me, all I had to do was show up to the gym and execute.
Having Christine as a coach has made it easy to stay accountable and complete my workouts every week. Christine is so prompt in answering questions, and is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to fitness and diet.
When I started the program, I was 6 months post hip surgery and I credit Christine’s coaching and personalized programming for helping me recover. With Christine’s help I now feel stronger than ever – we have built muscle, improved my flexibility and mobility, improved my posture and lost fat.
I also had a great experience working with their dietician. Christine and Rachelle had a very balanced approach to food and I never felt hungry or deprived. I’m now equipped with some healthy, easy meals that I continue to reach for.
Thank you so much Christine for helping me create a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. I’m so happy with the results I have seen and am excited to continue working with Jensen Fitness in the future!

I completed 3 months of personal training with Nick and it was well worth the time and money. I came into the process having very little experience working out and wanted to learn how to properly utilize weights and equipment. Nick was so great and making me feel comfortable and demonstrating the proper form and cues of each exercise, and in a way that I still remember how to do them even after completing my training! I highly recommend this facility and Nick as a trainer as I was able to achieve my goal of feeling confident going to the gym with a tailored exercise routine.
Charlotte Leitch (☆ 5/5)

I have been going to Jensen Fitness for about 2 weeks now and I couldn’t recommend them enough!
Coming from someone who consistently was doing cardio and not eating properly I had no idea how to properly fuel my body and effectively work out through strength training. With the help of Olenka, I have already started feeling more confident in my strength training and look forward to going to the gym! She is personable, always has an amazing energy that puts me at ease during my workouts while also pushing me to do more than I thought I was capable of 🙂
Rachelle’s meal plans have also been amazing as I feel so much more full and energized before and after my workouts and throughout the rest of the day.
I absolutely love Jensen Fitness and look forward to continuing to learn and grow throughout my fitness journey!
Kassidy Kisil (☆ 5/5)

When I started with Christine I was a menopausal mess. I had zero energy, I wasn’t sleeping and I could eat lettuce for lunch and gain 10 pounds by dinner. I had tried everything (on my own) to try to breakout of the downward spiral but nothing helped.
I found Jensen Fitness through a Google search, was encouraged by the amazing reviews and started an incredible journey to healing and feeling so much better.
Not only did I have an amazing trainer in Christine but I also also had the support of a registered dietitian. What a team, they have taught me so much about how to train and support that training with personalized meal plans.
Thanks to Rachelle and Christine, I now have a better relationship with food (I don’t run screaming from carbs) and I have so much energy to maximize my workouts and feel energized after. I also sleep so much better.
I am so very glad that I found Christine and Jensen Fitness, the support has been amazing and the whole experience has been life changing.
Kathryn Robinson (☆ 5/5)

My wife started training at Jensen Fitness around 2 months ago. She has made so many great strides towards improving her overall fitness and health. Her and her trainer Olenka have created an amazing partnership in the gym. I feel that that is key for the success, she has motivated her and has made it comfortable in an environment that previous to this experience was very uncomfortable. The biggest thing I notice is when she looks at herself in the mirror I see the self confidence within her at an all time high. After watching her struggle with the public gym route I knew this was a great fit for her. I joined in on the initial consult and we felt comfortable as soon and we walked in their facility. I’m so proud of my wife for taking the leap into Jensen, this has been an amazing experience and that’s thanks to the owners, staff and especially her trainer Olenka.
Marc Sciarra (☆ 5/5)

I’ve been a member since mid-January and have noticed a significant change in strength, fitness and energy. I’m sleeping better, mostly due to Sophia kicking my butt each work out, but she also takes care of my injuries and limitations, and she finds ways to work around them safely without causing further injury. I would highly recommend Jensen if you are looking for work outs with great trainers and to have a complete nutrition component as an add on option also with Rachelle, the awesome dietitian.
All the trainers at Jensen are excellent and each one has been absolutely great, Sophia, Brody, Olenka, Serhii and Evan. I have all trained with each one and they are all knowledgeable, professional and exceptional trainers.
Great place to work, check Jensen out the next chance you get!!!!
Christine McLennan (☆ 5/5)

Hey Everyone!
I’m not sure whether to give Jensen a terrible review or an amazing one! I want to tell you all it’s terrible so we can keep the gym all to ourselves… BECAUSE ITS SO AWESOME!
Have you ever walked into a gym without any idea what to do? Or maybe you had a specific workout you wanted to try but the machines you need are all busy with other people?
We have… Jensen removed all that uncertainty for us. It’s amazing to show up and have a workout already selected for the day AND the only other people in the gym are being trained by the staff… No more mental energy spent on planning what to do or if you’re even doing it right!
(PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU’RE DOING IT RIGHT OR YOU’LL HURT YOURSELF!)
Our Story:
We started training here in March 2022 with Keana (who is also a Kenisiologist). Right from the start she’s been so professional and also personal. She’s been so great at helping us continually reach new workout goals and live the lifestyle we want to live so that when we get older we are still fit!
Each workout is tailer made for us as individuals based on our goals and bodies. Keana is great at setting up workouts that are enough routine to enjoy but different enough that your body doesn’t always do the same motions day in and day out.
When we started here my heaviest bench press was just around 150lb, I’m now over 200lb!
I’ve also swapped over 10lb of fat for muscle and feel great!
We definitely recommend you take the plunge and go with Jensen Fitness and Keana. We can’t say enough about them.

I’ve been a longtime Lagree fan and have attended almost 200 classes. Kim is an absolute gem of a human and the Lagree experience has been fantastic. This is consistently a challenging workout that supports my other athletic pursuits. The low impact nature of Lagree has been great when I have been dealing with minor injuries. Every instructor has been so welcoming and they make classes so fun. I also love that the focus is always on building strength, endurance, and flexibility and taught without emphasis on ‘bikini bodies’ or weight loss. Highly recommend!

Sara is an awesome instructor! I fell in love with Lagree from the moment I walked in because of the great atmosphere. Everyone was kind, welcoming and helpful. I tried the Light-Full Body and found it very accessible considering I am uncoordinated and used to doing yoga not gym exercises.
Dr. Sarah Martins (☆ 5/5)

My favourite strength workout to keep me in shape especially for downhill skiing and mountain biking. Love the eccentric muscle loading with the slow returns. I also really appreciate the ability to buy multi-pack passes without the set monthly renewal fees.

Today’s class was really exceptional, I loved the blend of moves we did. I specifically take Lisa’s class every Thursday because I just love her teaching style. The mix of moves she choreographs for us are well thought out and challenging but not overdone. She is so good at cueing the next move, reminding us which muscles to focus on, and correcting our form. She is always in a positive and fun mood which makes me feel motivated and capable.

I’ve been going to lagree for a few years now. Initially I wanted a complement to my HIIT classes, but lagree is just as challenging, if not more so. The calm atmosphere and quiet music helps you focus on the regulated maneuvers you’re instructed to do. I love it. My strength and conditioning have improved so much because of it.
Lynn S (☆ 5/5)

Amazing workout studio. The workouts are really challenging but the pace is calm if that makes sense. Some studios feel like you’re in a nightclub and can be anxiety inducing. The movements in Lagree are slow and controlled, and I always feel like I accomplished something when I leave class. The instructors are all wonderful in their own ways. The studio itself is very clean and professional. Highly recommend!

Went to my very first class today and I was blown away. I didn’t know a single thing about this workout but the trainers were so patient and kind. The studio is so beautiful too, felt so fancy!!I really felt welcomed there and I honestly can’t wait to go back. Friendly staff and a great workout ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely instructors and staff. Very easy going studio. Respectful of member’s time by enforcing class start/end times, but no insane door locked policies you’ll find at other studios. Good spot, good community, great classes.

Junction 9 has been a refuge for me over the last 9+ years. The teachers and staff are amazing and really care and get to know the clientele. There is a wide selection of yoga & Pilates classes offered from 6:15am to 8:30pm to suite many styles and experience levels. It is also a beautiful space, thoughtfully decorated with a little cafe, gathering space and quality merchandise. And when it’s nice enough for roof top classes… bliss! I feel so lucky to have such a high quality studio so close to my house. Junction 9 is a true gem and community builder. Check it out!

Hi Club Pilates Southwest Team,
I wanted to clarify that I mistakenly left a 3-star rating — it was unintentional and does not reflect my actual experience. I have absolutely no issues with the studio. Everything at Club Pilates SW is so well organized, clean, and perfectly run.
I truly enjoy coming in every day — the positive environment, motivating instructors, and friendly staff make a huge difference in keeping me consistent and energized.
Thank you to the entire team for creating such a welcoming and inspiring space!

I’ve been coming to Club Pilates for over 3 years and love it! The instructors are friendly, supportive, and always work with you personally to help you improve. The space is clean, cozy, and has a great vibe. They also host fun little events like March Madness challenges and 80s-themed classes that keep things fresh and motivating. Highly recommend!

I love love love the impact of the Club Pilates classes on my body. When I retired I wanted to «get in shape» but had no idea how to. Since going to Club Pilates my core had never been stronger, I have more energy, my hip and knee pain is gone. My posture has improved. The classes are fun and the instructor’s are knowledgeable and lovely

I got the free 30mins session and it was amazing. Free 1 hr parking never tried Pilates before now, but my back is so thankful. I couldn’t figure out which exercise to do to relieve the back pain I’ve had for over 6 years. This helped tremendously. Hoping to sign up for the monthly classes soon.

The staff and instructors are great! I would like to give 5 stars if the studio is big. Its hard to get classes in the west spring location because its the smallest studio they have. I have the unlimited pass and most of the times, I have to drive downtown to get classes.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Had an absolutely incredible time with Gill for my first class at reformed! From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted, to the demo Gill gave me, and her wonderful instruction during the fire class I don’t have enough words to describe how wonderful my experience at this studio was. I can’t wait to continue with Pilates as a weekly ritual and to check out your Willow Park location. Thank you Gill and team

Mandy is an amazing instructor! She’s informative, makes the class fun, and has great energy! I go out of my way to book my classes to have Mandy as my instructor, I’ve even recommended her to friends because she’s that awesome. Keep up the great work, Mandy you rock!

I cannot wait to return!!! I am from out of town and booked a class with no expectation. The staff were so kind and helpful. I had a great time. I couldn’t thank them enough. I highly recommend anyone going alone (like I did), or with friends. I joined the Signature class (more difficult than I am used to) but the instructor made sure to help me change the tension or provide alternatives for sets that may be more challenging. Also very beautiful studio!

Pilates with a warm studio for an even better workout. I’d even take the studio hotter. I love this place. The change rooms are impeccable – clean, modern, lots of space. I appreciate everything they have available to even get ready to go to work after. 10/10 studio.

I left feeling rejuvenated and honestly so empowered with completing the class. The front desk staff are so personable as well, Jill B is awesome as well! Such positive energy, and good vibes. I will recommend this studio to lots of my friends 🙂 I can’t wait to go back!

I love this fitness studio. The instructors I’ve had so far are great. They are willing to offer modifications to exercises I can’t do, very positive and encouraging. The space is beautiful, clean and smells great. My only request would be more mid-morning classes during the week but I understand they are scheduling around work life.

I stumbled upon this studio on my new quest for health and fitness- I’m so happy I did!!! It’s a nice space, offering a variety of different group fitness classes (I like and appreciate the variety!). The instructors have great energy and I find them to be supportive and encouraging- especially important to a newbie like me!! I am excited for and enjoy each class, which keeps me motivated to keep going back. Thanks Moveology Team!! Keep up the fantastic work!!
Pierrette O'Donnell (☆ 5/5)

Moveology is such an amazing fitness facility! Highly skilled instructors offering a variety of classes every day, warm and inviting staff, and a beautiful, extremely clean studio and locker room area situated in a historic building. Highly recommend for so many reasons!

I love this studio! I just started to go here in January and every single instructor is so knowledgable and kind. The classes are difficult but instructors always share different levels of options for what could feel better for your body. On top of that, every single person here has been so welcoming and inclusive. It is my new fave place! Thanks to everyone at Moveology for being SO lovely.

Amazing Fitness Studio!
I found out about this place through a friend and joined a drop-in class to do something positive together—and now I’m hooked! The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, and the instructors I’ve had so far are all fantastic and knowledgeable. The classes are challenging yet adaptable to all fitness levels, and the variety keeps things exciting. If you’re looking for a great place to work out and achieve your fitness goals, this is the spot.
francesca spadafora (☆ 5/5)

I’d never been to a fitness class before coming to Moveology, and I was nervous. I’m glad I pushed through that because the people working here are so friendly and supportive, and now I look forward to going. Classes are hard but they have so much variety throughout the day, and you get a sense pretty quickly which classes to go to for the type of workout you want. Emma is really great at describing what to focus on throughout so that you get the best form. I also love how you don’t need to book a class too far in advance, they very rarely waitlist, unlike other places I’ve seen where you need to schedule everything like a week out (not realistic for me – I like to pop in when I can during my workday).

I started at Adirection’s about six months ago. What a positive life changing experience for me. I started as a 74 year old woman who hated gyms and exercise. I’m still 74 but now look forward to classes twice a week. The instructors are so motivating, knowledgeable and personable. I am now more flexible, walk more upright and feel a spring in my step. Thank you and congratulations Adirection for creating an inclusive, professional and friendly studio.

Adriana and Adriano are fantastic instructors and this studio has made a significant impact on my life. They are both physiotherapists from Brazil – highly skilled and knowledgeable who genuinely care about your health and fitness. My SI joint pain is almost gone after two months of Pilates. I can’t recommend them enough!
Giselle D (☆ 5/5)

Adriano and Adriana are wonderful.
it’s been 4 years since my last review. I admit, life got on the way. 7 lbs heavier and frequent back pain flare ups, I decided to start again this summer of 2024.
I’m currently taking the Wednesday morning 7 am mat with Geiza, (Love the instructor) but … ugh, I am not a morning person, but I am learning to enjoy morning starts.
I always feel better after class.
Try them I dare ya, double dog dare ya!
Cheers
Ps
Don’t worry if you feel you are not experienced enough to join a class, they will modify To work around injuries and abilities.
Alain Prefontaine (☆ 5/5)

Love Adirection! Adriana, primarily, has been guiding me through Pilates sessions for 8+ years now, always taking my spine issues into account when she works with me. With her physiotherapy background, I always feel safe with her, that the movements she has me doing will be beneficial and not hurtful. I’ve also had some sessions with Adriano, who’s equally professional and knowledgeable about body movement to help improve strength and flexibility yet not push beyond my abilities. So, if you’re looking for professionals, who will keep you safe while putting you through your paces, yet still have some fun, I can recommend Adirection!
Mira Tetford (☆ 5/5)

Adriana and Adriano are fabulous instructors. Their physiotheraphy background gives them added knowledge on how your body works and what exercises work best for you.
I’ve done Pilates for over 10 years. I find it’s one of the best parts of my week. I love how it gives me strength, mobility, flexibility, and core strength.
Elise Hoffman (☆ 5/5)

Adriana and Adriano are dedicated and wonderful instructors, always ready to explain and help! Classes are dynamic and different from each other. Weekly when I go to class they ask how I felt after going back to home, whether I had any pain or not. Due to injuries to my body, I can’t always do all the exercises, but they try to correct me and adapt the movement, so I can do it.
I super recommend this studio. I feel at home when I’m with them!
Larissa Lucena Périco (☆ 5/5)

As others have said, Adriano and Adriana are highly skilled instructors with particular skill with and sensitivity to injuries and illness, and the diverse needs of their clients. Both have training in other modalities and bring this awareness and experience to their teaching of Pilates. Their return to the Kensington area is great news, and the new location is easily accessible by transit and car. Update: Since COVID-19, they have done a great deal to keep the studio open safely, as well as to provide online options.

I’ve been coming to Divergent Health for ARX strengthening and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The technology is next-level—efficient, targeted, and noticeably effective. What really sets them apart, though, is the team. They’re knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in your progress. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or just looking to build strength safely and intelligently, Divergent is the place to go. Highly recommend.
Joel Langlois (☆ 5/5)

Divergent Healthcare truly gave me my life back. After years of living with chronic pain and trying countless treatments, I finally found real relief here. The team took the time to listen and created a personalized plan that worked. Now I’m pain-free and back to doing all the things I love. I’m so grateful and highly recommend Divergent Healthcare to anyone struggling with chronic pain.
Susan Jezersek (☆ 5/5)

My wife experiencing «frozen Shoulder» for almost a year, with no results from our Provincial Health Care I was on the «WEB» when Divergent Health Care was one of the search items. the first visit was very positive, Dr Nander and his staff made us completely at ease. The 10 extensive treatments resulted in from zero use of shoulder to plus 50%, with pain mostly eliminated by 2-3 weeks after the treatments. I also have a knee that is waiting on replacement, the 7 sessions that I received has reduced the pain and increased mobility, while on the waiting list. The ENTIRE staff are truly amazing, they are specialists who are committed to making their patients better. We have and will recommend them to anyone suffering any type of pain.
Dave Clough (☆ 5/5)

I’ve been going to this clinic for various treatments for 1.5 years now. For me, reception plays a huge part on how my overall experience is. The lady at the front desk (you know who I mean) has always been exceptionally helpful, going above and beyond every time. I’ve walked away from places because of issues with the front desk, but they know how to treat clients right here. Whether it was filling out a huge long form over the phone for me because it wouldn’t work on my computer (thank you so much!), or accommodating my schedule, she’s always been friendly, professional and a joy to deal with. The treatments I have received at the clinic so far – insoles, massage, treatments for plantar fasciitis and now knee pain have been effective and the therapists and doctors are top of their field. They really listen to what the issue is and have a huge range of treatment options! The clinic manager is also amazing. Everyone from reception up is focused on providing a great customer service experience and amazing treatments for a variety of issues. Very impressed with how clients are treated, and definitely recommend!!!
Jess B (☆ 5/5)

Divergent health Care has been my go-to place for my Plantar fasciitis last year and then my achilles tendinitis this spring. Their multimodal approach really made a difference in healing these conditions, and the staff are professional and caring. I have personally recommended several people to this clinic.
Deborah Johnson (☆ 5/5)

I am extremely grateful and appreciative for finding the DIVERGENT HEALTH CARE TEAM; and their services offered.
I instantly learned, how passionate and dedicated they ALL are, and extremely thorough when designing your personalized TX plans to ensure the best, effective, outcomes, and results.
My expectations and standards for quality TX care is extremely high AND DIVERGENT’s expectations for themselves are no different. Their first priority is providing exceptional, quality care both individually and equally to ALL patients, without exception.
The team believes evidence-based technology is critical for obtaining the best treatment results; I agree. DIVERGENT has definitely made the investments into obtaining and utilizing cutting-edge equipment/tools designed for effective pain TX’s and their resolutions.
They actively and continuously expand their learning in order to remain at the forefront of progressive advancements (new research & technology).
DIVERGENT staff are rare gems. Why? First off, they work extremely well and cohesively as a team. They are professional, have a forward thinking approach that is solutions based, knowledgeable in their professional craft, open-minded, adaptable, and great listeners when patients are communicating their needs. Their office environment is peaceful and inviting.
In March 2024, I had an accident and sustained severe and debilitating injuries. I suffered (Level 10) chronic pain, daily. My injuries included lower back (L3, L4, L5, and S1); muscle tears, tendon bruising in both arms (frozen shoulders) baker’s cysts, and torn menisci in both knees, both sides. My lower back injuries also caused Diverticulitis.
Leaving the hospital after the accident I had to use a walker; then a cane. In November 2024, I was taken by ambulance to the hospital because I could not walk; severe pain.
There have been several TX’s this past year one of which was cortisone injections in multiple areas. The results were very short lived. There was some minimal pain relief BUT that only lasted me a few weeks to 4 months at most. Doctors also tried an epidural in my lower back after the cortisone did not work. I thought great I finally have some pain relief, so I could somewhat function. BUT that too was short lived as it only lasted approximately 4 months.
The cortisone treatments for pain relief was not working long-term, and as you may know, there is a limited amount of cortisone that a person can receive in their body and I had several areas to treat. I also know that long-term use of cortisone injections can lead to several damaging effects, including cartilage damage, tendon weakening or rupture and bone thinning. Though I knew the risks going in I just wanted to have relief from the daily excruciating pain.
In my case, it has taken a «VILLAGE» of TOP-NOTCHED AND AMAZING treatment providers:
– AKIC Sports Medicine (Dr. James Preston Wiley & Dr. Ryan Shields);
– Acupuncture & Holistic Medicine (Dr. Don Fan);
– Massage Therapy by Queen;
– Curo Chiropractic (Dr. Emily Hubert & Dr. Matthew Queiroga);
– Alberta Neurologic Centre (Dr. Fridhandler);
– Bronze Baxx Luxury Wellness (using the «Ballancer Pro», «Red Light Therapy», and «InfraRed Sauna»).
In hindsight, I wish I would have had DIVERGENT HEALTH CARE on my team a lot sooner. Why? Because after only a few TX’s to start with, I no longer needed to walk with a cane; we are still working through all the painful adhesions that have been root causes of my extreme pain, numbness, and limited mobility.
Even though my TX’s are extremely painful and make me cry a lot each time (I have to be honest here), the positive results in a very short period of time have been a huge feat and success for me.
I strongly suggest that anyone who is experiencing severe chronic pain like I have to give DIVERGENT HEALTH CARE a try. I feel very confident in saying that you will be glad you did, cause it does work. AND we all deserve the best in quality care and treatment.
Bry Lindstrom (☆ 5/5)

I went there for treatment for my torn rotator cuff in January. I was immediately booked for shockwave therapy. They don’t seem to do.any real assessment and just try and get you to pay ahead of time. As it sounded like it might help I tried it for all 10 sessions. My pain is now worse and I have had very few pain free days since the treatments.

Frequently asked questions about pilates studios in Calgary
What types of Pilates classes are offered in Calgary?
Calgary Pilates studios generally offer a variety of class types, including mat Pilates, reformer Pilates, chair Pilates, and sometimes cadillac Pilates. Mat Pilates uses bodyweight exercises on a mat, while reformer Pilates utilizes a specialized machine with springs and pulleys to provide resistance. Some studios may also offer specialized classes for prenatal, postnatal, or athlete-specific training.
How much do Pilates classes typically cost in Calgary?
The cost of Pilates classes in Calgary can vary considerably depending on the studio, the class type, and the package purchased. Drop-in rates often range from $25 to $40, while multi-class packs and monthly memberships typically offer a better value. Introductory offers and new client specials are often available.
What is the difference between mat and reformer Pilates?
The primary difference lies in the equipment used. Mat Pilates is performed on a mat using only bodyweight resistance. Reformer Pilates utilizes a machine called a reformer, which provides adjustable resistance through springs and pulleys. The reformer provides added support and allows for a wider range of exercises, offering a more challenging and comprehensive workout.
Do I need any prior experience to start Pilates?
No, prior experience is not required! Most Calgary Pilates studios welcome beginners. Introductory classes are often specifically designed for those new to Pilates, focusing on foundational movements and proper technique. It's always a good idea to mention any injuries or limitations during the registration process.
What should I wear to a Pilates class?
Comfortable, form-fitting clothing is recommended. This allows the instructor to see your movements and ensures that the clothing doesn’t interfere with the exercises. Avoid loose-fitting clothing, as it can be a safety hazard. Most studios also recommend bare feet or grip socks.
Are there any health conditions that would prevent me from doing Pilates?
While Pilates is generally a safe exercise, it's important to consult with your doctor before starting if you have any existing health conditions, such as back pain, hernia, osteoporosis, or joint problems. The instructor can then modify exercises to accommodate your needs.
How often should I take Pilates classes to see results?
The frequency of classes needed to see results varies depending on individual goals and fitness levels. However, most experts recommend attending classes 2-3 times per week for optimal benefits. Consistency is key!
What are the benefits of Pilates beyond just core strength?
Pilates offers numerous benefits beyond just building core strength. It improves posture, flexibility, muscle tone, body awareness, and can even help alleviate stress. It’s a holistic exercise approach impacting overall physical and mental well-being.
How can I find reputable Pilates studios in Calgary?
To find reputable Pilates studios, look for studios with certified instructors (look for certifications from reputable Pilates organizations). Read online reviews from other clients and check their website for details about their instructors’ qualifications and class offerings. Consider asking for recommendations from friends or family.
What should I do if I’m feeling pain during a Pilates class?
It’s crucial to communicate any pain to the instructor immediately. Some discomfort is normal as you work new muscles, but sharp or persistent pain is a sign that something isn't right. The instructor can then modify the exercise or suggest alternative options to ensure you’re exercising safely.
