Laurie, receptionist, and Erin, Audiologist were exactly as described on previous reviews. Both were very professional, and gave me the impression that they were appreciative of me attending their place of business.

We have been using Home Instead for 2 months now for my husband who is paralyzed. The company matched workers to fit in our home so we would be comfortable with them. We have a dog and home instead’s motto is it is your home and you should have a say on what you want and all the workers have loved our dog. Besides looking after my husband they help me out in the housework. Making the bed, cleaning the floors and bathroom. Do his laundry or any other tasks that there may be.
The workers are upbeat and cheery when they come in which helps set a person’s mood for the day. They are also very professional. It also gives me another woman that I can talk to providing companionship for myself which is really appreciated. Another plus is if you phone the Home Instead you get a live person answering the phone right away not a machine having you have to listen to. I highly recommend this company. They are very people orientated.

They would also clean the place up, make the bed, unload the dishwasher, and vacuum, do laundry. The ladies are well trained to deal with dementia and were an overall comfort to have come over. My elderly father and I used the Home Instead team to provide transportation to and from daily radiation appointments as well as accompanying and support during the appointment. Home Instead was the only support that I found who would provide ‘one time’ service. All of the other agencies required ongoing/continuous services.
I was overwhelmed with the care and attention that Home Instead provided. They were extremely flexible, as the daily appointments (5 days in a row) were at random times and changed randomly with less than 24 hours notice. They assured me that this was unusual for their service but they guaranteed that they could provide it and THEY DID! A couple of days, the caregiver and my father showed up for the appointment, and it was delayed, but the caregiver was not concerned with the extra time commitment required to complete the task.
All of the caregivers arrived at my father’s home with plenty of time to drive him to the appointment. They were very competent in all aspects of driving, finding parking, getting to the radiation center, staying and supporting him during the appointment and driving my father back home.
My father felt extremely comfortable with all the caregivers. We were both thrilled with the support that was provided during this difficult time. THANK YOU Home Instead!

Home Instead staff were so professional, kind, friendly, efficient, accommodating and flexible. Best decision we ever made was hiring them for their care professional service for my dad for companionship. After my mom’s passing, dad was feeling lost as his days and evenings were spent with her. It really helped him having the companionship in the late afternoon/early evenings especially Tracy and Christy, whom he had the most frequently.

With his help, my hip pain that had been present twelve years, limiting certain activities and making it impossible to sleep on my right side, has resolved. I saw numerous other treatment providers who misdiagnosed the cause and couldn’t treat it successfully. He’s also helped me learn to self-manage nerve impingement and chronic tendonitis issues. As a former daily physician, I know how little most doctors are equipped to deal with musculoskeletal issues. I can’t believe the difference that my new hearing aids and accessories has made to my life. I am hearing things I have not heard for a very long time. I decided to save money and got my previous hearing aids from a wholesale place, not my best decision.

Outstanding service and excellent experience. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful!
My 90 year old father-in-law has no hearing in one ear, only about 10% in the other and is a little difficult. Lucy was extremely patient and kind. She evaluated his hearing and set him with an appropriate set of hearing aids for his issues. The results have been an extraordinary improvement in his ability to communicate and overall quality of life.

My experience with this location has been wonderful. Winnie is just the kindest and most helpful and knows so much about whats going on. David has been amazing during Covid-19. Lucy really helped me out the most. She gets the patient the most benefits out of their HA, I cant wait to work with her more. Stella has solutions for many HA related issues, she also has very gentle hands. I only got to meet Shanon once but she was awesome as well !

My first time getting hearing tests done. I visited the Centre St & 12th Ave location. Office is lovely, very clean with a TV to watch to learn about hearing news/advancements. Front staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Lucy is a *fantastic* audiologist! She was patient, listened to my concerns, offered her expert opinion and explained the mechanism of my issues. Did a thorough ear exam and hearing test. Explained I did not need an additional tinnitus test as she had a good idea why I was experiencing what I was experiencing & that saved me money. Promised to send the result to my family Doctor that very day and suggested they refer me to an ENT for more tests. Very professional, knowledgeable and kind. Most of all, she gave me hope about my concerns with my hearing. I would highly recommend Connect Hearing to anyone who is experiencing healing loss and/or tinnitus.

I feel like I won the lottery in having Andrew manage what little finances I have. I’ve been working for Nurse Next Door for 9 months now and I can honestly say (without exaggerating,) this has hands down been the best job I’ve ever had. You can give yourself a full schedule and if quite flexible on availability, there’s opportunity to work even more then your standard 40 hour work week. In the summer I wanted to work as much as I possibly could and the most I worked was 129 hours in around roughly two weeks. Not only that but if you have a car, like to drive, and have a can-do attitude then this job can be VERY rewarding.
When it comes to working with the office staff I have found them to be very supportive in that if you need help, have questions, or concerns etc. they are quick to provide solutions. They work with clients on their end and you work with the clients out in the field with the same goal which is coming together as a team to provide the client with the best care possible. I have found that the office staff care for the clients just as much as the field staff do. It really puts the emphasis in the words community and team work.
Other really awesome aspects are:
– Some last second visits earn you a couple dollars more an hour as a thank you
– If you do a really good job that goes noticed by clients, colleagues, etc you can be rewarded with gift cards like $50, $200 etc. as well as things like recently, we had a contest to win $1000
– Sometimes you will have the time of your life with the clients. I’ve been on out of town outtings driving to K country on nice days and gotten ice cream there together, checking out cafés, taking them to the casino, walks down by the river, eating tasty snacks and watching movies, going shopping with them at the mall and them asking if you could shop too so they don’t feel so alone, having their face light up when they open the front door and see that it’s you!!!!! This one could make me cry, it’s so sweet. There are a lot of people out there that don’t have any family/are alone and even by you just being there is something some of the clients really look forward to and can hardly wait to see you again and it just gives you so much gratitude and enthusiasm for what you do and the impact that you have.
If you’re thinking this sounds like a review from some sort of job recruiter, this definitely is not. I am a current and real field staff employee sharing my honest opinion and honest experiences working at Nurse Next Door. If you think this sounds like somewhere you too would like to work then I look forward to possibly working with you/meeting you out in the field!
