Huge thanks to Joseph and Larry for an unforgettable tour! Joseph has a sharp eye—he spotted bears and mule deer that we would’ve totally missed on our own. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and made the whole trip engaging and fun. Larry, our driver, was excellent—he drove safely the entire time and even helped with my luggage. It was my first time visiting Banff National Park, and this tour made it truly special. I highly recommend booking with them—definitely a five-star experience!

We joined a 4-day tour with Westar and had a mixed but overall enjoyable experience.

For the first two days from Calgary to Banff, our guide was Simon. He was friendly, funny, and kept the group entertained while sharing useful information. He made the trip lively and enjoyable.

On the third day, we had Yongbin. Unfortunately, his guiding style didn’t suit us. He spent much of the time comparing Canadian scenery with places in China, which felt out of place—we were here to experience and appreciate Canada. We would have preferred more relevant and engaging commentary about the local sights.

The final day with Patrick was the highlight. He was wonderful—very friendly, professional, and informative. His warm personality made the day feel special, and we truly appreciated his effort in making our tour memorable.

Overall, it was a lovely tour. While there were some ups and downs, we’re glad we joined and especially thankful to Simon and Patrick for making the trip enjoyable.

We had a great trip from Calgary to Jasper with Westar Travel.
Our guide Joseph was very friendly, explained everything clearly, and took good care of us along the way.
He also recommended great restaurants — everything we tried was delicious!

Our driver Larry was safe and professional, and the ride was very smooth.

The schedule was well planned, and we really enjoyed all the beautiful lakes and stops on the way. Highly recommended!

We recently did a tour in Banff and had the pleasure of having Lisa as our guide. From start to finish, she went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. She ensured we got the best hotel lodge and even took the extra step to secure great accessibility options for my grandparents, which made a world of difference for their comfort and enjoyment.

Lisa was incredibly attentive the entire trip—always checking in, offering thoughtful suggestions, and making sure everyone was having a great time. Her kindness, organization, and deep knowledge of the area made this experience truly unforgettable. We felt so well taken care of and would 100% recommend this tour to anyone—especially with Lisa leading the way!

We spent three excellent days with our driver 超哥 and guide Patrick. Patrick will send texts to us at least 12 hours beforehand and advised us of our trip plan for the next day before we exit the car. He also helped us with checking in the hotels and recommended restaurants. We liked the stories and local culture he shared with us during the trips. The driver was very nice! Very safe and pleasant trip overall.

The first day of our Banff tour was truly enjoyable! Our guide Lisa was humorous and engaging in her commentary, the itinerary was well-organized, and she was very knowledgeable about every attraction. She shared great tips on food, fun, and photo spots, making the whole day both relaxing and fulfilling. Our driver Larry drove smoothly and handled our luggage with care — we truly appreciate his hard work and professionalism!

Tomorrow, we’ll be with a different guide and driver, and we hope the rest of the trip goes just as smoothly!

For the remaining 3 days of the trip, our guide and driver was JEFF, who was exceptionally professional, dedicated, and provided thoughtful service—big thumbs up! Another highlight worth praising is the excellent online seat selection feature on the Westar APP!

What made the experience truly stand out was how thoughtful and accommodating he was throughout the day. Edward went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy, and he even took tons of great photos for us so we could fully enjoy the sights without worrying about capturing the moment ourselves. Enjoyed the tour very much The highlight was Johnston Canyon but our tour guide knew so many more out-of-the way viewpoints.
It was a nice surprise to come upon a herd of sheep grazing
I plan to return with the same guide again later this summer

Edit: Enjoyed the tour so much I that I came again on the same tour 3 weeks later. After Johnston Canyon we saw all new locations and had such a lovely day. Guide was available to take super-nice photos

Edward was 15/10. Sooo incredible. We went to so many places and he took us to the most picturesque spots. He even stopped if we wanted to pull over and see something. He provided ponchos for the rain and was the best tour guide. Side note: we were actually booked for a different tour and William let us switch last minute. Best choice ever! If you’re considering it’s 100% worth the money – we would have never been able to do this on our own even though we rented a car!

It is a beautiful area with some amazing walking paths. Many are paved, which makes it easy for strollers and bikes. There are also many dirt paths throughout the park that are fun to explore. The river runs right through the area, and it makes for some very beautiful scenery.

We had such an amazing time here!

The scenery is gorgeous, the creek is perfect for the kiddos and we saw so much wildlife while we spent our afternoon here

Deer, ducks, minnows and much more just in a couple of hours. There was a deep
Enough spot that the adults could dip into the creek as well. So lucky to have this in our city! Can’t wait to get back sometime soon!

Fantastic spot in Fish Creek Park to spend a hot summer afternoon (or day) playing in the river. Skip rocks, build personal pools (for one or more), catch minnows, the fun is as endless as one’s imagination. Many bring camping chairs and sit in the river as it is so shallow. This is a popular spot to give your doggy pal a refreshing drink, or dunk. There are fire pits for more industrious visitors to feed your gathering.
Bring your sun screen, and the bug spray, and have a great time at Bebo Grove.
Highly recommend.

Best place to get gifts and souvenirs…lots of unique and cool things to choose from. Super cute stationary and kitchen stuff, amazing greeting card collection, planters, puzzles, mugs, books, journals, candles, aesthetic decor, jewellery, stampede things, funny socks, carpets. I always find something which I didn’t even know I’d like so much haha. Go to the store, website doesn’t have all the items listed. Prices are on high end, but definitely worth it for a few things which you don’t find anywhere else in the city.

What a fun little spot!

Was walking around the neighborhood with my partner after being at the nearby Lilac festival during the day.

She was after a gift for her nephew. Something called a JellyCat. I don’t know what the heck that is but they seem pretty popular and this place had a fair few of them.

While we were browsing, a lovely staff member approached us and asked if our dog would like a treat. We said yes and she came back a moment later with something for her. Thanks!

This ain’t a spot to go if you’re looking for a bargain I guess. The prices are that of a trendy gift shop like this. Nothing is cheap but it’s also not trying to be.

Cool store! I’m sure we will pop in time and again when we are in the hood.

A week ago, I was under a lot of stress. My world had turned inside out as I called over 30 stores across three different countries in search of an elusive, chubby little Jellycat plushie. I was in a full-blown existential crisis. I don’t think you understand just how stressed I was about this plushie. And they weren’t even gifts. They were for me.

I thought all hope was lost… until this glorious establishment swooped in like a retail guardian angel and plucked me from the abyss.

Let’s be clear: I had scoured the earth. I had spoken to store clerks on different continents who barely humored me, others who outright dismissed my plight, and one who sounded like they were contemplating their own career choices after my desperate inquiry. But then, like a beacon of hope in a cruel, Jellycat-deprived world, Steeling Home answered my call. And they didn’t just answer—they listened. They understood. They delivered. And let me tell you, the level of customer service was nothing short of divine. The associate was kind, helpful, and gentle, handling my distress with the care of a seasoned therapist.

Not only did they have the coveted Jellycat Bees in stock (a miracle in itself), but they also shipped them out RIGHT AWAY, accompanied by a friendly email thanking me and letting me know to reach out if I had any more questions or concerns. Shipping from Calgary to Edmonton was $20, and while normally I would care, I didn’t blink twice. They had these cotton-stuffed hooligans in stock, and that’s all that mattered. Originally, I only wanted one, but at this point, my need for them had reached an all-time high. I liked and wanted these bees so badly. I worked so hard, searched high and low, so I almost ordered 14. But I settled with 2, after my best friend told me that was too many bees.

I placed my order on Friday, and by Monday, they had landed in my arms. I tore open the package like my life depended on it, which, let’s be real, it kind of did.

To say they saved my life is an understatement. What they did was restore my faith in humanity. Thanks to them, I now have two adorably round and floofy bees to cherish, and my soul has been healed. If I could, I would name my firstborn after this store. Instead, I’ll settle for writing this review.

If you are ever in need of impeccable service or just a store that treats your requests with the respect they deserve, Steeling Home is the place to go. 11/10. I would sell my soul for them. In fact, I might already be scouting for my next Jellycat conquest. These bees were just the bee-ginning.

Amazing place! To take yourself or your kids!

$50 to get in! It took about 3 hours to walk around possibly 4 or 5 depending on your circumstances.

I would highly recommend for any age.

They have a cafeteria snd restaurant. Their food is decent pricing. $15 for a burger and fries which is cheaper than some places!

The Calgary Zoo is a fantastic place to spend the day! The animals are well cared for and the enclosures are spacious and thoughtfully designed. We especially loved the Penguin Plunge and the Canadian Wilds — so cool to see local species up close. The zoo is clean, easy to navigate, and very family-friendly with lots of spots to rest, grab a bite, and enjoy the scenery. Educational signs and interactive displays made it fun and informative. Highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone who loves animals and nature!

I have a membership to the Calgary Zoo and highly recommend it — whether you’re a family with kids or a couple looking for something fun to do, it’s a fantastic place to spend a few hours. There’s a wide variety of animals to see, and if you visit at the right time, many of them are active and engaging to watch.

The membership is a great value — it pays for itself after just 2 or 3 visits. Plus, you get unlimited access for the entire year and free parking, which makes it even more convenient. A must-visit spot in Calgary!

What a great adventure and experience!! The kids had a blast—and so did us kids at heart!

Pro tip: Download the Calgary Attraction Pass (it’s completely free!) to get a 15% discount on daily admission. Just check in and scan the QR code the receptionist gives you. We’re a family of 10, so that saved us a good amount! There’s a lot of attractions that you could get discounts on by using this pass.

It was my first time seeing a zebra, giraffe, camel, bear, and so many other wild animals—I loved every minute of it. Of course, I took a lot of pictures! Haha

The only downside were some areas were closed for renovations, and it rained heavily for half the day. So definitely bring an umbrella just in case!

Amazing animals! Entering the zoo you can check out the penguins near the entrance. It’s like you are in the Arctic among a flock of them. The polar bear and the komodo dragons were a sight to see also. Some information is provided about the animals if you talk to staff, and there are special presentations at scheduled times. The food was sub par and overpriced, definitely a place to pack your own food. Ice cream is available to purchase which is nice on a hot day.

Overall I recommend visiting this zoo!

Great time!
Got there at opening (9AM) on a Saturday, hardly any cars in the lot. Had an excellent day, great weather. All of the animals look quite happy and well taken care of, all of the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend getting the Tourism Calgary Attractions Pass (free, google it).. it saves you 15% on admission!
There are single-stall bathrooms right past the initial gate, but if you go beyond the paid admission area, there are many large bathrooms by the gift shop and all throughout the zoo.
There are three playgrounds we took note of, the best being Bugtopia. As two grown adults attending the zoo, we still had a blast on the playground (and there weren’t too many kids until about 10AM).
Very clean facilities, excellent signage. Accessibility was noted as well. For sure worth the price, don’t miss out on an incredible day!

Genie Senior Services recently needed a short term storage option for a client that was moving but had a 8 day gap between moving out of one home and into their new condo.

I’ve arranged a storage unit for several clients in the past and have always been impressed by the service offered at Sentinel Storage.

The staff at Sentinel on 10 Ave downtown Calgary are absolutely excellent! The gentleman who assisted me was extremely helpful and polite.

With limited notice, Sentinel on 10 Ave SE was able to secure the 3 storage units that I needed at an amazing price! While taking advantage of a limited time special offer, I was able to save my client over $400 compared to a quote from another downtown storage facility.

I highly recommend Sentinel Storage!
It is definitely my go to company when my clients need a storage solution.

We had to wait 4 hours before check-in, and it was hard to carry our 3 big suitcases. So we decided to use this place.
The staff were so kind and warm — we were really touched.
They welcomed us with big smiles. Even though we had to buy a key, one of them let us use her personal key because we only needed it for a short time. Thanks to her, we could save money.
If anyone needs storage, we will definitely recommend this place.
Thank you so much!

A lovely place to find Japanese goodies. Mainly house hold items but you will find gifts and other products you can bring with you, from tea packets to little figurines to a few different shirts and bowls.

We found the store to be very clean and organized. The products are easy to view and handle. The owner was very welcoming and very nice and helpful!

If you’re new to area, there is public parking but you will have to pay. Parking is very tight and limited depending on the time of day.

Would recommend coming here!

UPDATE: Nanao Kimono is still my wife’s go-to for premium green tea.

We found this hidden gem last year. We were looking for good quality matcha leaves and this place was selling them.

The matcha leaves sold here were definitely high quality and we can really taste the difference. Since then, we have been back regularly when we run low.

The owner is friendly and very accommodating. He has always tried to go above and beyond to help us get the product we need. In the past he has even given us products to try. He is also very knowledgeable about the stuff he sells. Yet he isn’t arrogant and is very patient.

Definitely worth supporting local!

First off, I would like to acknowledge Joriko for the beautiful thank you note that they wrote for me by hand. That is so sweet.

Secondly, I just want say that the noren are beautiful. Here’s a picture of one of them hanging in the entrance to our deck and back yard. I’m not sure if you can see it properly but the noren looks beautiful with our Japanese Maple standing in the background.

A few months back our family had a wonderfully relaxing day at Heritage Park! It was the perfect spot to slow down, take in some history, and just enjoy being together. My 9-year-old son loved exploring the old-fashioned buildings, riding the vintage train, and seeing how people lived in the past.

One of the highlights was the paddlewheel boat ride on the Glenmore Reservoir. It was such a peaceful experience, giving us beautiful views and a chance to just sit back and enjoy the moment. The staff throughout the park were friendly and knowledgeable, making history come to life in such a fun way.

We also spent some time at the antique midway, where my son had a blast with the old-school rides. And of course, no visit would be complete without a stop at the bakery for some delicious homemade treats!

Heritage Park is a great place for families looking for a mix of education and relaxation. It was a perfect day—no rushing, just enjoying the sights, sounds, and experiences of the past. We’ll definitely be coming back!

A fun, festive, and educational experience for everyone. The Park has an assortment of activities, rides, food, civic museums, and heritage architecture emphasizing the cultural significance of early Prairie settlement/life.

It’s like taking a step back in time, and it’s worth every dollar. 11/10 do recommend.

Heritage Park in Calgary is a fantastic destination for a family outing.

The park stands out for its welcoming policy on food and drinks, allowing visitors to bring their own and enjoy a picnic-like atmosphere—a rare perk that saves a lot on expenses compared to other parks where you can easily spend over $100 just on meals.

Though tickets are on the pricier side at $36 for adults and $26 for kids, the experience is worth every penny.

The park is meticulously managed, from parking to rides and everything in between. It’s incredibly clean, with free water fountains and spotless washrooms, ensuring a comfortable visit.

Highly recommended for a day of fun and relaxation!

Nice place to walk around and kill some time inside on a cold day looking at old cars. Went early on a Sunday morning, so it was dead, had the place to ourselves. Although they do serve brunch so it could fluctuate with how many ppl are there. Our 3 year old loved looking at all the old cars on the main floor and the lower level, loved being able to sit in a few they allow patrons to touch.

Really enjoyed coming here. It’s like Disneyland, but better, because you can actually learn something about actual frontier life and how Alberta came about as opposed to some fantasized version of how things were. Plus, the Vaudevillian performances were really entertaining.

There was something that happened, I don’t want to go into the details, but I want to take a chance to thank the staff for handling the incident professionally and being very kind to me and my party.

Awesome Day Exploring Lake Louise, Moraine Lake & Johnston Canyon

We did a full-day tour of Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, and Johnston Canyon, and it ended up being one of the best experiences of our trip to Alberta.

Lake Louise was our first stop, and it totally lived up to the hype. The view of the lake with the Fairmont Chateau in the background is iconic. We had time to walk along the shoreline, grab a coffee, and relax. The whole area felt really calm and scenic, and the turquoise water was as beautiful as expected.

Moraine Lake came next, and honestly, it was jaw-dropping. The color of the water is even more intense than Lake Louise, and the surrounding peaks make it feel like you’re in a dream. We got there before it got too busy, which made it feel even more special. We took a ton of photos and just soaked in the mountain views.

Johnston Canyon was our last stop and a perfect way to wrap up the day. The walk through the canyon was easy and super scenic, with catwalks right over the rushing water and beautiful waterfalls at the end. It’s shaded, peaceful, and really cool to explore.

One of the best parts of the tour was our guide, Andrew. They were not only super knowledgeable, but also really funny and personable. They shared great local stories, kept the group engaged, and made the whole day feel fun and relaxed.

The bus was comfy, and everything was well-timed—we never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy each spot.

If you’re visiting Alberta and want to see some of the Rockies’ top highlights all in one day, we’d definitely recommend this tour. Totally worth it!

I could not think of a better way to see the sights around Banff (Lake Louise, Lake Moraine, Emerald Lake, Natural bridge, and Bow Falls) than through our tour; especially after learning that some of the best spots are only accessible by bus! Our lovable tour guide, Gray was a delight; his enthusiasm for the mountains made the trip extra enjoyable. He took us to the best photo spots! And our bus driver Binyam was not only friendly but extremely good at navigating our huge coach bus along narrow mountain roads. We felt safe and in good hands. Highly recommend this tour!

This was a well-organized off-season tour with clear communication about which sites would be closed—and great alternatives were provided. Our guide, Rhonda, a local of Banff, was fantastic. She shared insightful history of the region and explained how Canada is working to protect wildlife while welcoming tourism.

Though I didn’t spot a moose or bear, I did see a wolf and enjoyed views of stunning snow-covered mountain ranges. Using crampons for the first time was a fun and unique experience that made the hike even more memorable.

The pick-up and drop-off in Canmore were convenient, and the pacing of the tour was good overall. My only suggestion: the 45-minute stop in downtown Banff and at Bow Falls could be shortened or skipped to allow more time at Johnson Canyon, especially to reach the upper falls.

Overall, this was a meaningful, scenic, and educational day in the Rockies led by a passionate and knowledgeable local. Highly recommend!
