Customer Reviews
I had an absolutely amazing experience. I do think you should go with multiple people so you can share the dishes. I went alone and had the stake all to myself, which was great. The cherry cola cocktail was also delicious. I would definitely recommend this resto. The servers were kind and service was fast. I had a really great time

Ten Foot Henry is a delightful gem in downtown Calgary, offering a **vibrant menu centered around vegetables, brunch favorites, pasta, and mostly fish-based dishes**. The flavors are beautifully balanced, making each bite a treat. One unique aspect of the dining experience is the shared plates—while the portions resemble regular starters, the focus on communal eating adds an interesting dynamic to the meal.

Beyond the food, the ambiance and decor set the perfect tone for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is **warm, friendly, and refreshingly modern**, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and special occasions. Despite the unconventional portion sizes, the **overall experience is fantastic**, with attentive service and an inviting setting that encourages good conversation and great food.

If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful dishes in a welcoming space, Ten Foot Henry is definitely worth visiting.

We went to Ten Foot Henry for an early dinner before the dinner rush, and it was quiet, relaxed, and lovely. Our server was incredibly helpful, offering thoughtful recommendations that made our choices easy.

We started with the tomato dish and the in-house gluten-free seed bread. I’ve had this dish before with the sourdough (also delicious), but honestly, I think I prefer the seed bread. It’s flavourful, hearty, and pairs perfectly. This dish is a long-time favourite of mine and something I’ll continue ordering again and again.

We also had the Caesar salad, which is made with kale. I don’t usually gravitate toward kale salads, but this one is absolutely divine. So well balanced and fresh.

For our main, we shared the Arctic char with curry, and it was outstanding. The curry had just the right amount of kick. Not too spicy, just enough warmth to enhance the dish beautifully.

We finished with the mini butterscotch pudding topped with salted caramel and sponge toffee. It was rich, smooth, and the perfect size to satisfy a sweet craving.

To drink, we tried the house-made lemonade, a pina colada-style mocktail, and an iced latte. Each one was refreshing and so well made.

I always look forward to dining at Ten Foot Henry. The dishes are simple in concept, but everything is so well thought out and executed with care. The ingredients shine, and the flavours are consistently spot on.

10/10 recommend. Just make sure to reserve ahead. It’s popular for a reason.

This was kind of a late night stop on the way home from downtown…
Had a bit of a hunt to find Ten Foot Henry but soon as we entered the premises, there was a definite buzz to this restaurant.
It seems that the bar is known for the interesting & unique cocktails that are being served here. My nephew and I decided on 2 of the more popular cocktails that were quite delicious…
We also ordered one of the shared plates. It was a pasta dish with squid and a nice spicy tomato based sauce. This was an excellent dish and the perfect accompaniment to our cocktails. We were served by 2 high energy bartenders that kept us on our toes. Looking out at the clientele and considering it was almost 10:30pm it was obvious that this was a true social bar that served high quality food…

Bottom Line: 9.1 out of 10

Really interesting and creative dishes. Had the henry salad, roasted carrots, calamari pasta, and red prawns. No big complaints about any of the food, the prawns were not my favorite, but it’s mostly a preference thing. Server recommended splitting 3-5 dishes for 2 people, we had 4 split for 3 people and it was pretty much fine – this will depend on what type of stuff you order, some dishes are much smaller or less filling. Overall good food and experience, not too pricey.

Had a great first experience here. There are lots of delicious dishes to choose from, and I look forward to going back. Next time, I would prefer a table to sitting at the bar. It was busy on a Tuesday night! My favorite dishes were the tuna crudo and the salmon, not a bit dry!

We had delicious shrimp and cacio e pepi pasta, and the steak was fantastic! The butterscotch pudding was absolutely delicious
Just a quick tip—if you prefer all your food to be served at the same time, be sure to mention that when placing your order.
We also tried the cabbage salad, but it wasn’t to our taste

10/10! Highly recommend Bridgette Bar to anyone. This was my first time trying the YYC location, however I have been to the Canmore location. Both are equally amazing. Best steak I’ve ever tasted both times. We had the Truffle Mushroom Rigatoni and the Wood Grilled Beef Strip Steak. Chefs kiss. Great recommendations from the staff pertaining to the well crafted cocktails, all around beyond accommodating and kind vibes all around. I love this place, I hope everyone has a chance to try this and be in such a rad atmosphere.

We had an incredible experience at Bridgette Bar. Out of towners, we showed up on a Friday without reservations. They said the only seats they had were at the Chef’s Bar. We’ve never sat at a Chef’s Bar but decided to give it a try. What a great time! It was fun watching the cook staff and chatting with them. And the food was outstanding! If we lived in Calgary, Bridgette Bar would be a regular stop!

We don’t live in Calgary so this was my first time trying Bridgette Bar. Great location downtown. Really cool building with unique decor. The service was really great, the server was very attentive, but not annoyingly so. Food was amazing. We had bread and butter and brussel sprouts to start. Then my wife had the rigatoni and I had the maple trout, all of the food was really good. Finished it all off by sharing a delicious banana pie. Thanks for dinner!

We ordered the garlic bread, cauliflower, asparagus, Strip steak and the rigatoni. They were very good! It’s a little on the pricer end. They ran out of the banana cream pie which was unfortunate as a lot of people rave about it. We will be back for sure to try that and more dishes!

We’ve always had an amazing time at Bridgette Bar, for date nights, Christmas parties, and nights where we join friends after an art event. I took my husband for a date night for the YYC experience, and honestly Tristan our server made the evening for us. First course, we both chose steak tartare, and the second course we agreed the gnocchi was better than the pork presse (it wasn’t bad, just not our taste.) the crazy thing was the dessert…I normally hate rhubarb, and of course Brigette Bar made a dessert out of rhubarb that I really, really, liked. It wasn’t too sweet, and it was almost like a better apple crumble. Loved it!
Mz Thang (☆ 5/5)

Finally got to try Bridgette Bar after living in this city my whole life! I loved that this is a sharing restaurant so that you can try a bunch of different things. However, it was very loud and definitely hard to have a conversation.

We ordered the garlic cheese bread, beet salad, rainbow trout and ricotta dumplings. Out of these, we probably would only order the beet salad and rainbow trout again.

While the cheese bread & the ricotta dumplings were good, they could’ve been seasoned more & have more depth of flavour – they unfortunately just weren’t stand out dishes to us.

However, the beet salad was phenomenal – the beets were paired beautifully with whipped feta, herbs & pistachios. The rainbow trout was also very delicious as I loved the maple BBQ sauce & the smoked potato puree.

All in all, it is still a great restaurant option here in Calgary & definitely worth trying!

Pho City is a solid go-to for a comforting bowl of pho! The broth is clear, flavorful, and well-balanced, with tender meats and fresh herbs. Their portions are generous, and the service is quick and friendly. It’s a clean, casual spot perfect for a satisfying meal whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout. Definitely worth a visit for pho lovers!

Pho City’s vermicelli dish was absolutely delicious! The noodles were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the grilled meat had a great smoky flavor. I loved how everything was well-balanced—from the crisp veggies to the tasty fish sauce on the side. Portion size was generous too. It’s a go-to spot if you’re craving a light yet satisfying Vietnamese meal!

I had the good fortune of being invited to this lovely Vietnamese restaurant for lunch. Located next to a famous Vietnamese Submarine Restaurant across from the Harry Hays Building it makes sense that they would open here.

The decor is fresh, modern and clean. The washrooms are spotless and in excellent repair.

The usual options are on the menu, but there are many modern fusion options as well. It makes for an exciting gourmet experience!

I had the Shrimp Salad Rolls and found them to be absolutely fresh and delicious!

The Pho City Wonton Soup with egg noodles was massive and tasted great! I made sure that there was not one drop left in the end because even the broth is fantastic!

The service was pretty quick as well.

Thank you for the great experience.

A nice location in Calgary’s Chinatown, specializing in Vietnamese dishes! We walked in as a group of 6 on a busy day and were immediately seated at a high table. Service wasn’t the greatest, however they got the job done. They also caused some confusion when they mixed up the name of a dish and caused us to believe they took our order wrong, when in reality, the correct dishes were made. The food tasted great and portions were sufficient. They also had a nice combo for weekends which included a bowl of noodles, a rice fresh roll, and a pop, which we took advantage of. Overall, this is comparable to the pho restaurants that I’ve been to in my hometown, and I would recommend this place for a quick meal in Calgary!

Even though it didn’t feel as authentic as some other Vietnamese places I’ve been to, I still really enjoyed the food! The regular portions were huge and fairly priced. The place was nice and clean (even the toilets ;)). We also appreciated very long opening hours (they close at 12am only Thu-Sat though)!

Yesterday I made a reservation to celebrate my friend’s birthday.
The host directed us to our table, and there was a beautiful flower centrepiece with a sign saying Happy Birthday and 4 glass of kind of sparkling drink.
The Chef Christian came to say Happy Birthday, when we finished our dinner, the chef expressed he has a surprise for the birthday girl. It as a gorgeous dessert platter.
Andrea our server was amazing; she recognized us because we have been there several times and evertime the service and the food had been great, but this time we were amazed how they went beyond our expectations to make my friend’s birthday very special. Thanks Andrea y Christian and the other servers that brought our food for the awesome experience.

I’ve been here a few times and it’s always great! Reliably tasty, well-balanced meals with something for everyone. We had the hummus, the blackened chicken (always a favorite), and I tried the yellowfin tuna salad for the first time which was fresh and delicious. The tofu bowl was a solid vegetarian option too. Service is consistently excellent, and the outdoor seating is a nice bonus in summer. Highly recommend!

First time back at this location in years, and we were so pleased with the top notch food, service, and atmosphere. Every dish was freshly made with the right balance of flavours. Overall disappointing experience.

The only positive was the atmosphere – nice design and cool space.

The service is very friendly but extremely slow – it took unreasonably long to serve drinks, food desserts… despite the place being at max 50% capacity.

The food did not convince. Ordered Steak & Sushi. My order was forgotten in the first attempt. After additional 15min wait, i was offered an overcooked steak and some «sushi» which i can’t even call «sushi»… rice is too sour, fish didn’t taste fresh, overall too dry, flavors were off. The chicken nuggets tasted like nothing.

From the moment we walked in, the experience felt elevated and thoughtfully curated. The staff were incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The interior design was both luxurious and tasteful, creating a perfect ambiance for a special evening. I ordered the carbonara pasta, and it was absolutely delicious—creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The steak was, without a doubt, one of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned. Every detail, from the plating to the pacing of service, was impeccable. It’s definitely a high-end restaurant, but the quality justifies the price. This is the kind of place you come back to for celebrations or when you want to treat yourself. Even the desserts were on another level—artful, balanced, and indulgent. Truly one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

I had an incredible dining experience at The Vintage Chop House and Tavern. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond. They were extremely knowledgeable, kind, and attentive, which made our evening feel extra special.

The food was absolutely phenomenal. I had the beef short rib, and it was so tender that it literally melted in my mouth—definitely one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time! We were there celebrating a birthday, and the staff graciously treated us to a free dessert, which was a lovely touch. The dessert was not only a kind gesture but also tasted amazing. I also tried the key lime pavlova, and it was a unique twist on the classic, incredibly refreshing and delicious.

From start to finish, the entire experience was over-the-top amazing. I highly recommend The Vintage Chop House and Tavern for anyone looking to enjoy outstanding food, exceptional service, and an unforgettable dining experience.

Ordered a vintage salad, drink, prime ribeye (medium rare), and scalloped potatoes. Total $136.50 + $24.57 (tip).

The salad was a healthy portion and tasted good, dressing was evenly distributed and the bacon and croutons were of an appropriate amount. The steak was unfortunately a major disappointment, it tasted extremely burnt, every bite I could taste charcoal which ruined the entire meal for me. I hope this is not how they normally cook their steaks, it was very challenging to finish it. The cheddar scalloped potatoes could have used more seasoning, it was quite bland but was edible.

Service was good, but I would never come here again for steak. I tried to get the picture in the best possible light without disrupting others with flash, but even then I hope you can see how burnt that steak looks.

I’m visiting from Toronto and was craving a steak dinner. Vintage Chophouse and tavern exceeded my expectations. Wow wow wow!!! Service was top notch. They bring out the cuts of meats and show you what each cut is with an in-depth explanation. Our server, Chris was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We got the porterhouse to share which came with 2 very big sides. The crispy brussel sprouts were so good!!! We also got the slow cooked duck breast, which was delicious. The menu even lights up! What a clever feature. I highly recommend dinner here. Absolutely delicious!!! I want to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. Cheers!!

Our group of six from Ontario was served by Dean on a busy Saturday night. The menus light up when opened – like a refrigerator. Our table shared two cowboy rib steaks and a variety of sides including fingerling potatoes, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, and root vegetables. A beautiful wine was paired with our meal and everything was exceptional. It was a little busy when we first got in, but by the time we ended, we felt that the fervor had died down a little bit and staff seemed able to chat.

Last year, I visited here for the first time to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and I was delighted by the outstanding quality of the steaks, excellent service, and pleasant atmosphere. The staff were helpful and welcoming, especially when explaining food ingredients and wine pairings. They enjoyed their steak and I had soup & salmon. Highly recommended!

I loved their service! Our server was very friendly and patient. They explained everything to us in detail.
The porterhouse steak was delicious and cooked to perfection.
The bone marrow butter felt like there was more butter than bone marrow though.
I didn’t like the sides too much, we got creamed corn and mushrooms. Those were perfect dishes on their own, but they didn’t compliment the steak.

Amazing place! To take yourself or your kids!

$50 to get in! It took about 3 hours to walk around possibly 4 or 5 depending on your circumstances.

I would highly recommend for any age.

They have a cafeteria snd restaurant. Their food is decent pricing. $15 for a burger and fries which is cheaper than some places!

Amazing experience for all ages!
The Calgary Zoo is a fantastic place to spend the day! The animals are well cared for and the enclosures are spacious and thoughtfully designed. We especially loved the Penguin Plunge and the Canadian Wilds — so cool to see local species up close. The zoo is clean, easy to navigate, and very family-friendly with lots of spots to rest, grab a bite, and enjoy the scenery. Educational signs and interactive displays made it fun and informative. Highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone who loves animals and nature!

I have a membership to the Calgary Zoo and highly recommend it — whether you’re a family with kids or a couple looking for something fun to do, it’s a fantastic place to spend a few hours. There’s a wide variety of animals to see, and if you visit at the right time, many of them are active and engaging to watch.

The membership is a great value — it pays for itself after just 2 or 3 visits. Plus, you get unlimited access for the entire year and free parking, which makes it even more convenient. A must-visit spot in Calgary!

A well crafted animal enclave. Sadly, most of the animals I wanted to see where either sleeping or in shades as the weather was considerably warm.
The entire zoo is wheelchair accessible with lots of play area for children and food spots for visitors

What a great adventure and experience!! The kids had a blast—and so did us kids at heart!

Pro tip: Download the Calgary Attraction Pass (it’s completely free!) to get a 15% discount on daily admission. Just check in and scan the QR code the receptionist gives you. We’re a family of 10, so that saved us a good amount! There’s a lot of attractions that you could get discounts on by using this pass.

It was my first time seeing a zebra, giraffe, camel, bear, and so many other wild animals—I loved every minute of it. Of course, I took a lot of pictures! Haha

The only downside were some areas were closed for renovations, and it rained heavily for half the day. So definitely bring an umbrella just in case!

Amazing animals! Entering the zoo you can check out the penguins near the entrance. It’s like you are in the Arctic among a flock of them. The polar bear and the komodo dragons were a sight to see also. Some information is provided about the animals if you talk to staff, and there are special presentations at scheduled times. The food was sub par and overpriced, definitely a place to pack your own food. Ice cream is available to purchase which is nice on a hot day.

Overall I recommend visiting this zoo!

Great time!
Got there at opening (9AM) on a Saturday, hardly any cars in the lot. Had an excellent day, great weather. All of the animals look quite happy and well taken care of, all of the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend getting the Tourism Calgary Attractions Pass (free, google it).. it saves you 15% on admission!
There are single-stall bathrooms right past the initial gate, but if you go beyond the paid admission area, there are many large bathrooms by the gift shop and all throughout the zoo.
There are three playgrounds we took note of, the best being Bugtopia. As two grown adults attending the zoo, we still had a blast on the playground (and there weren’t too many kids until about 10AM).
Very clean facilities, excellent signage. Accessibility was noted as well. For sure worth the price, don’t miss out on an incredible day!

For our first date night in five months – since we’d been traveling with our kids – and to celebrate our 15th anniversary, we discovered OMO, and we were completely charmed! We arrived on a Thursday evening without a reservation and were warmly welcomed. We were seated at a table that would soon be joined by a chef.

We ordered the Date Night menu, which was both delicious and reasonably priced. The chef’s performance was fantastic – we loved his enthusiasm and energy.

To celebrate our anniversary, they surprised us with a sweet card featuring a photo they had just taken of us, souvenir chopsticks, and a small dessert. The owner even came to chat with us and kindly prepared a dish for us to take home to our kids.

Service, food, overall experience: 10/10!
We’ll definitely be back and can’t wait to share this amazing spot with our family and friends.

I first came to OMO last week with a friend, and we had such a great time! Chef Remz was so caring, he kept checking in to make sure we were enjoying our food, which made the experience even better. Our server, Stephanie, was super friendly and welcoming, and we left feeling really well taken care of.

Because of that, I decided to bring my whole family (all 8 of us!) back tonight. This time, Chef Tom was in charge, and my boys absolutely loved the fire show! The food was amazing, and we all had such a fun night.

Big shoutout to Chef Remz, Chef Tom, and Stephanie for being so awesome! You guys made both visits so special. We’ll definitely be back again!

Perfectly filled a pasta craving!

Late-night and craving pasta for dinner this ended up being the perfect choice. We opted for takeout and the service was quick. Everything was packaged nicely.

The Gorgonzola Pear Ravioli was phenomenal. Every bite was delicious and the slightly peppered cream sauce perfectly paired it.

We also had a build your own and we’re very pleased with all the options.

The cheese cake is also a must have.

I have been here only 2 times so far for dinner and every single time everything is just wonderful. Starting from the food to the staff. Our host waitress was Jeissa , she was very nice, friendly and always willing to help us with anything we needed. ☺️Also the chef did an exquisite job with his pastas . As an European suffering to find a good restaurant for pasta, i would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try delicious food. 100/10

The food tasted pretty good, but my partner got very sick (food poisoning). The basic agreement with restaurants is that they’ll provide you food and you’ll be able to keep it down. As a general rule, if you get food poisoning at a restaurant, you should not try them again. And for this reason, we will not be coming back.

Update: The manager reached out to my partner to straighten things out. Bumping the review up for great service.

My first opportunity trying this Italian restaurant on 17th Avenue near 14th street west. Was pleasantly surprised with both the quality and the value I experienced while dining here. My mom & I wanted to stop for a late lunch after a downtown errand and this place definitely hit the spot. Carlos was our host/server and he was both friendly and attentive. We chose a nice window-side table then ordered 2 excellent meals. I had the fettuccine with Italian sausage in a nicely spiced arrabiata tomato sauce. My mother chose the spaghetti with clams in a white wine sauce. Neither one of us had room for dessert because the portions were ample. I did however, look over the post-meal menu and was enticed by items like blueberry cheesecake, chocolate cake, and of course… tiramisu. I believe that I am very likely returning to this restaurant at some point as I am visiting Calgary often. I would rate this business as a solid 8.7 out of 10 for service, quality of food, and a comfortable atmosphere. Didn’t have a chance to try anything off of their nice wine selection. Next time I will make a point of it.

We had a fantastic dinner at this place yesterday. We went there for their half-price bottles of wine and were thoroughly impressed. The food was amazing, even though it was busy for a Wednesday night. One thing that truly set this place apart was the exceptional service. Despite the crowd, one server managed to take care of all the tables inside and outside, ensuring that our food arrived promptly and our drinks were always on time. We’ve been to many places, and when it’s busy, the service usually gets slower and less attentive, but surprisingly, not here. We’ll definitely be back to try other dishes on their menu.

We had such a great experience at the yyc pasta bar! We got to try this off-menu lamb shank pesto risotto for $28, and it was totally worth it—huge portion and the lamb was so tender it just fell apart. The head chef even came out to see how we liked it, which was a nice touch. The staff was super attentive, especially our waitress, who kept checking in to make sure everything was perfect. We also ordered their pasta, calamari, and cheese toast, and they were all really tasty!

The drinks were good. The ambience is truly an experience sitting in there – feels quite fancy & you don’t feel like you are in Calgary anymore. The pasta was pillow soft. We got the vegetarian dish with pesto & thoroughly enjoyed it. The eggplant dish that we ordered to share was out of this world… We ordered calamari as an appetizer which was a bit too salty & wasn’t that great. The food is definitely on the heavier side but worth going on!!also I’m sure that their meat & seafood dishes are prime which we couldn’t try.
We ended our dining experience with the tiramisu – it was truly so good

Went for a celebration w/ my fiancé, the service was attentive and I enjoyed the environment & look of the location. I had the special ( pork loin/chops) & he had the beef strip loin, his only suggestion was the sauce needed more to it but I quite enjoyed my own plate. He’s been to this restaurant for the third time and seemed a bit disappointed with this time around.

Went for an anniversary dinner. The restaurant was so beautiful and it was on our bucket list to try. To eat we had the olives, the bolognese pasta, and the 32oz steak. To drink we got a mojito and a stout beer. The pasta was the highlight the steak was okay. The focaccia bread was super salty. For the price, we have had better. As well, the service didn’t «fit» the restaurant (ex. The food would come as we still had our finished plates in front of us, once it got busy the manager had to step in to help…etc).

Looking for a nice intimate evening or drinks and appetizers at the bar, this restaurant will not disappoint. My husband and I had dinner there on Saturday evening, the appetizers and caesar salad before our main course were delicious, the mains were a lovely choice and we don’t usually do desserts, this evening we each had a dessert, I paired my with a lovely DOMAINE POUDEROUX Maury.
Our server Shouko was lovely, friendly and made sure our experience was fabulous. Taylor the Somali helped Greg chose a lovely 2019 Brunello di Montalcino to pair with our dinner. Thank-you for a lovely evening.

A great location in the city core with good food at good pricing.

Food is fresh and reasonably priced. Portions are a good size, and lots of options available from Vietnamese classics to Boba Tea.

Getting seated and ordering is quick and easy. Wait times can be a little long depending on time of day and peak hours, but not unreasonable.

Atmosphere is clean, warm and quaint. Smaller venue with seating available or takeout.

Overall, would recommend. Delicious food, at decent pricing.
